Hello
We both chose the same person the songstress, Whitney Houston. Once considered, the “Queen of Pop” with a voice of an angel. Also, she made an impact in the world all the way in Africa. So, when I viewed the celebrities on the list she stood out, from the other artist. However, each artist drug addictions and their demons played a part of their demise.
Hence, I hoped Prince was on that list because he was the only artist. The death of Prince made me cry and feel as if I lost my boyfriend. Just the same, I felt like a big part of my life was missing compared to Whitney Houston. Just the same, he should have been on the list. Anyhow, Whitney Houston was a great person, however, I just wish the opportunities laid out for her life served
The second one I chose to write about was Susan B. Anthony because of how she was raised to stand up for her beliefs about men and women being equal. The last one I chose to write about was Helen Keller because even though her parents did not raise her, she had an amazing and kind caretaker named Anne Sullivan that showed her that even though she was deaf and blind she could change the world for the better. These women have rightfully earned their spots in history and should be praised for the sacrifices they made to make America a better place for slaves, women and the disabled.
The pair that I have chosen is Agelina E. Grimké and Sojourner Truth. These two women are strong for standing up for what they believe in. Even though they came from different backgrounds of life, they fought for the same equal rights and freedom.
I chose a famous rapper that goes by the name “Lil Uzi Vert” his real name is Symere Woods but that is his rapper name. He is one of my favorite rappers. I chose him because in my opinion, he is unique. He is not like any rapper who shows how rich he is. He’s a man with a good heart. His music videos are unique for a rap music video. I like his style and how he stands out from a crowd.
Her rise to fame and privileged life also identify her as a tragic hero, the famous family that she was surrounded with helped her to develop her love for music and aided the jumpstart of her career. Finally, Whitney had personal and decisive flaws, including a lack of self esteem concerning her personal character and a poor spouse choice, which ultimately lead Whitney to experience a downfall that included alcoholism, drug abuse, and, eventually, death. America was left void of their hero, once a mere young girl with stunning talent, beauty, and
At Aaliyah’s funeral everyone is crying, sobbing, or they have this look like they just lost something they loved. Which was true because everyone loved Aaliyah, her voice, her character, her everything. Everyone’s watching her parents as they see their daughter for the last time. Missy Elliot sings a song and the press were shock at the famous guest who came to say their last goodbye’s, some of them being Jay-Z, R.Kelly, Diamond Dash, and many more. Aaliyah was one in a million and she left a mark on this world that can never be
I picked Aaliyah for this essay, due to the fact that she contributed some things to her genres of music that no one else can or could. Such as bringing back the teen girl's voice back to R&B. She also had a absence between her albums that only deepened her appearance to the world. Lastly her voice is unlike anyone else’s and R&B Golden era will forever have a icon.
he history of rap has so many unforgettable legends such as Nas and Jay-Z and that is just two that are alive. What about the amazing artist that are no longer with us? Some of the great, highly known rappers are Iggy Azalea and Tupac Shakur. They both have given the world lyrics that have change lives and have given advice to some many people of youth. Tupac is the type of artist that is a big spokesperson on racism, abuse, poverty, and etc. Tupac believed in defending yourself and becoming violent to protect your people. Iggy music is very spunky and energizing in which she symbolizes excitement and having a good time. They both are very wise spoken artist who were very in touch with their fans and others. Which one was better Tupac
Julie Hart is included because I think she would bond well with everyone else and has also been in the industry for a while, I also think she is very flexible in the type of music she can sing. Julie came from a middle of the road family, she met producers from Starsmith and Frankmusik and was then spotted by Jamie Lillywhite and signed with him. Julie is a big fan of running and tries to run 6 miles a day, she is also friends with New Zealand singer Lorde. She has also filmed two documentary's, one was Julie Hart: Healthy Eating at Home and Lennon or McCarthney both as herself. She has had three headlining tours; "Dark" in 2010, "Halo" in 2012 and "Crazy" in 2015. Julie lives in London,
Oprah Gail Winfrey born January 29, 1954 is well-known for one the best talk shows called “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and is renowned for her supporting to charities and creating her own “Angels Network” aimed at inspiring people around the world to make differences in others lives for those who are less privileged. The reasons that I have selected Oprah Winfrey are because she is the best in her field, has over come personal obstacles, contributed greatly to society and has inspired others to achieve.
Without a doubt there is one major performer that certainly stands out within our pop culture world. The name of this very famous American icon is, Dolly Parton. Dolly has surpassed any rags to riches story that ever lived. She has touched the lives of so many individuals over many decades through her many talents. Dolly started her career at a very young age and continued fulfilling her life endeavors through country music, pop music, and even acting. This American icon didn’t stop with just her talents, she also gave back to our society through charity, fundraising, and establishing her own theme park. Dolly Parton was brought up in a very poor family, however through much dedication she became the famous icon everyone idolized today.
Even though you may think that someone else made a bigger difference, I still think that Amelia Earhart was the one because she has inspired many women to be courageous and to follow their goals and dreams. She had enough courage and bravery to attempt to fly around the world. Therefore, I believe that Amelia Earhart has made all the difference.
In 2009, we lost one of the greatest entertainers in music history, however his music still
What characteristics make up a good leader? A few that might come to mind are bravery, being inspirational and helpful, and being able to present and write well enough to captivate an audience. These are the characteristics that made Maya Angelou a good leader.
Both country and rock songs have subjects about dying. What about pop? Miley Cyrus, a 20-year-old American pop-singer and songwriter wrote “I Miss You”, a song that pays homage to the death of her grandfather. She saw her grandfather at a time that was
Whitney Houston is considered as one of the greatest singers of our generation. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, she holds the record of being the most rewarded female artist of all time. I chose her as my topic, because she represents resiliency and tenacity, despite her troubled experiences with drugs and her personal life. Whitney Houston comes from a family with an amazing, musical pedigree; her mother, Cissy Houston, was a successful back-up singer for Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley. Dionne Warwick is her first cousin and Aretha Franklin is her godmother. In 1983, Houston was signed to Arista Records and music executive, Clive Davis, became her mentor and helped launch her successful career. Whitney Houston was
