When I think of my future, I can’t see myself in any other field besides medical. More specifically, I can not picture myself being anything other than a nurse. Many of my life experiences have began to prepare me to enter into the nursing field. I’ve been blessed and cursed with one of the most competitive classes my high school has ever seen. My classmates and I stand extremely close in our GPAs. With only hundreths to separate many of us, it can only be imagined the work that is put into not only trying to progress to the next rank, but also trying to maintain our placement. I understand that the medical field is one of the most competitive fields there is. Healthcare is important and only the best can enter into the field. I plan to put keep the same attitude for success upon entering college.
At the age of five, I found my love for sports. Since then I have played on several teams throughout the years. Playing sports and being a part of a team have not only prepared me to pursue nursing, but it has also helped

On a sports team, there are several different personalities to work with. There are people with loud, overbearing personalities, and there are people with more soft spoken personalities. I’ve also learned to know what someone is saying even when they don’t say anything. It’s crucial on a team that you learn your teammates for a more cooperative game. Playing sports is a great way to learn how to cooperate with others, being with people in an everyday setting also helps develop those “people person” skills. Aside from sports, I’ve been involved with several extra curricular activities that require me to interact with people in a way I normally wouldn’t. With the medical field being so large, it is bound to have employees with different backgrounds and personalities, but for the greater good, they still have to work
Most people ask the question, "Where do you see yourself in five or ten years?" to determine what you see as your future goals. Before, I would answer this question with the most outlandish responses but as time has gone by, I have grown. I have come to the realization of where I truly envision myself. I see myself aspiring to accomplish my career goal of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist. Now, it may seem ridiculous that I have gone from seeing things such as becoming famous, to actually determining a career for myself. However, I had to transition my process of thinking. I had taken the time to really evaluate my life. I looked back at all the courses I had taken over the course of my undergraduate degree and the trials and tribulations from being
Let’s start off by saying I knew it. I have learned, I am meant to be in the health field. I scored very high in the health area of the career questionnaire. I made a choice in my high school years, to pursue a career in the medical field. In 2013 I became a Certified Nursing Assistant, then in 2015 I started to work at Pocola Health and Rehab, and I love every moment that I am there. Nonetheless, I want to become a Registered Nurse. During my questionnaire, I learned that it is a very well paying career. That’s important, but in my heart, it is very awarding to help people. I strive to do better, for me and my family and that is my goal.
The tasks of a nurse fascinates me; I have had several opportunities to observe nurses in hospitals and I find their work intriguing. I have always been interested in the health field and performing the jobs of a medical professional. Ever since the age of twelve, I have known I wanted to attend a university and pursue a career in the health field. I have always had an interest in my science courses, specifically biology and chemistry and have excelled in these areas. I want to be able to receive the best education possible and make my parents and community proud. I wish to do more for my community than just being a typical nurse and I will be able to do more by becoming a nurse practitioner.
I decided to join the healthcare field, and I will major in nursing when I continue with my post-secondary education. Through numerous volunteering opportunities at my local hospital, I believe nursing is the right career for me. I felt excited every time I volunteered, and there was a sense of comfort in the hospital setting. My dream career is a pediatric nurse practitioner because I enjoy interacting with young children and I want to provide healing for the sick. I want to reflect back and feel accomplished with the children I have healed.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would grow to LOVE what we do and decide to go to nursing school, but I
I've always wanted to work in the nursing field since I was just a little girl. I grew up around nurses, EMT’s, and Pharmacy Technicians. It finally occurred to me that I wanted to be an Registered Nurse when I sat and watched my great grandma pass away. She was on bed rest and a bunch of nurses, and hospice came every day to help her. I watched and observed them, and imagined myself as a registered nurse.
It is my ambition to be guided to a specialty and I will continue to explore the different fields and opportunities in nursing. I am confident that I will continue to strive for and accomplish my academic goals in the pursuit of a Nurse Practitioner degree. In 5 years, I envision being close to if not already having my Nurse Practitioner degree. In addition to being confident with the path I’ve chosen regarding a specialty.
I have always been a caring person, who tries to help any one that was in need. So, as I got older the only thing that I could picture myself doing is becoming a nurse. Once I got into high school I knew for sure that nursing was the career for me. In high school, I took nursing classes which allowed me to do internship with the hospitals and shadow nurses at a local pediatric office. I spent most of my time at the pediatric office, causing me to want to become a pediatric nurse.
I know I could never see the future but in five years, I will probably have degree in nursing, a nursing job, buy a house, and buy another car.
I painfully had come to realize that I was not that strong in math and science, which these skills are very necessary in nursing. However, my journey is far from being over. My passion to aid has led me closer to a degree in Sport’s Management. Some of the most popular jobs that sports management graduates pursue are in Business Development, Consulting, Public Relations, and Management just to name a few.
Having volunteering opportunities, participating in student organized activities, as well as having medical recognition/knowledge are one of the many reasons why the health academy is my favorite class, but my main reason is the leadership skills and communication skills that I have acquired and the opportunities I’ve had is what makes it my favorite class. Leadership skills as well as communication skills can help lead to better opportunities. These two skills have allowed me to acquire opportunities that I never thought I would have. Due to having leadership skill and communication skill I was able to participate in the Emerging Health Professional Showcase that is held every year for all sophomores in the valley seeking to be in the medical field. In order to be a part of this group, we had to write why we wanted to be one of the leaders and why we deserved to be chosen. That’s when the communication skills we had learned in the health academy came in handy. We we’re giving the opportunity to speak and have one on one time with health professionals. I personally feel that if it wasn’t for the health academy and the skills I have gained I would not have been able to be apart of the event. Through participating in these event I was able to improve my responsibilities skills. Another reason why the health academy is my favorite subject is because of the volunteer opportunities. I had the ability to volunteer in many things such as walks organized by the community, the summer program at the Palm Desert Public Library, and events held at my school. As a result of this, I was able to improve my communication skills since I talked to many people. As I was doing so, I was
The reason I applied to this position is that I'm interested in the medical field, and am an aspiring nursing student. I have quite a bit of administrative and secretarial experience and I'm looking forward to getting into the medical field. The reason I'm leaving my current position is because I work for a college and will be unable to make the commute as I will be transferring to Weatherford College in the Fall. The most significant achievement that I have had in my career would be when I implemented new billing procedures that decreased truant and late bills. The owner of this business was really resistant to the idea of change but ultimately was very happy with the results. Hopefully in the next five years I will be an RN and maybe pursing
My scholastic attainment began while attending the Catholic University of America, followed by my experiences throughout my 7 years of employment as a devoted pediatric nurse. Nursing school at the Catholic University of America provided me with the highest education and clinical rotations to pave the way for my future as a nurse. Playing field hockey while attending nursing school built a strong foundation for the type of person I have become; motivated, passionate, driven, flexible, able to multi-task and adapt to different circumstances. I value a strong work-life balance, with an emphasis on working hard, finding and doing what I am most passionate about while living a healthy lifestyle. While attending nursing school, I played field hockey for four years,
I think my main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help people and care for them in times of need. I am also a person who thrives on being challenged and I always have new goals to achieve, so nursing suits me as few other careers offer as much diversity and learning
Nursing has always been in my life. There are many nurses in my family. My uncle is a travel nurse and my aunt is a labor and delivery nurse. My grandma is also a labor and delivery nurse, she has her master’s degree in nursing, and she teaches nursing classes. When my aunt was studying for her NCLEX a few years ago, she let me look through a textbook about infants and it fascinated me. When my aunt’s daughter was born at 28 weeks, we went to the NICU to see her. I realized that walking through the NICU that day made me realize that I wanted to work with babies.
