I have decided to attend college so I can further my education and constitute something out of myself when I become older also so my future will be brighter and guarantee a great chance in providing for myself. Another reason why I have chosen to attend college is because my parents has set a the bar that college is a must. Individuals with degrees have a higher chance at getting a job than someone who doesn’t have one. Many people who have chosen not to attend college consequently, a difficult time finding employment or obtaining a job with higher wages. My decision of Belmont Abbey was chosen as a result of its location being close to home also the fact that my father is an alumni of Belmont Abbey College therefore I feel that the experience
There was many reasons why I decide to attend college. I am extremely tired of applying for distinctive positions and being rejected for not having a degree. I'm a supervisor now over thirty employees when I see different positions opening in management or higher position. I apply on behalf of the job, gain being interviewed for my experience. Nevertheless, not having a college degree really afflicts me. As a result, I decided to attend college and further my education.

I have so many reason why I wanted to attend DCCC and each decision that I make at DCCC is that I’m gonna face it till the very end of my courses. I always wonder how can I get a step further in life and how can I get my stuff done and start early and there was an option that was given to me in my 8th grade year and it was a sign up for an orientation for Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy a school where you can learn how to start you career and be professional looking/acting when applying for a job that suit you better. I came to Yadkin Valley for orientation where you can check the school out, but I had a little problem I didn’t have my glasses so couldn’t really see how the school look because my eyes were blurry, but I notice that I really didn’t need to see just listen to the teachers and how they talk and communicate and how they tell us what we be learning and discover while we are here at Yadkin Valley and what they have in store for us and then I heard a
I would like to attend college because I want to be successful in life, I understand it is getting harder to get a job with only a high school diploma and it is sure to get worse. My goals for the future include getting into a college with a good teaching and mathematics program, this could give me a variety of jobs and I was speaking to someone and they told me that people are looking out for women who have a degree in mathematics which will help me to obtain a good paying job.
I would like to attend college because I want to be able to demonstrate not only to myself but to my family that we can do what we set ourselves to do. I would to do go far in this life and accomplish my life goals. Without college, I will not be able to do my goals. My goals are to graduate from college, one day own my own land so that I can own my own agricultural business, and have my home there too, and I want to be a high school Spanish teacher as well. Another reason as to why I want to attend college is that I want to be able to show my little sister that anything is possible, we can do whatever we set ourselves to do, as long we do not give up we will be able to accomplish great things in life. My teachers have also been a great influence
One of the first colleges ever created was established in 1636 by the vote of the great and general court of Massachusetts Bay Colony, and was called Harvard (Harvard University). Many teenagers believe that college can be very difficult so they forget about the benefits that a person receives after attending. Not only teenagers believe this but also many adults that did not have the opportunity to attend college. They believe what other people say about college without never trying it out and what they say about college is that it is difficult, boring and tiring of the work. People should go to college for greater success because it gives a better chance of landing a job, increases a person’s income, and gives people a chance to network.
More than ever before, adults are returning to college to complete degrees they started years ago. Additionally, many are choosing to attend college for the very first time. Unsurprisingly, adults have very different reasons for attending than do their younger counterparts and they face challenges unique to those who choose to pursue degrees later in life.
I do not want statistics to define me. I remember reading that in 1999, it was found that 82% of students whose parents had a bachelor’s degree immediately enrolled in college. On the other hand, only 54% of students whose parents did not attend college immediately enrolled in college. Neither of my parents went to college, so I fall into the 54%. When I read that statistic, it gravely angered me. I was determined to be more than just a statistic that was left behind and did not attend college because the odds were against me. So, I worked and worked all through my schooling career to become the best possible student I could be regardless of the “potential” difference between my other classmates who come from more “educated” households and
People attend colleges and universities for various reasons such as gaining more knowledge and enhancing their skills. In a university, people learn many new ways to learn things and improve their talent. Students after completing their schooling or undergraduate courses opt for higher education in universities because of various circumstances around them.
The first example is college helps people figure out who they are. This could mean multiple things. For example, college has helped myself realize what I love to do in my free time. To start, I love being active. I have been able to play hours of basketball and also racquetball. In high school, I got cut from the freshman basketball team. Now I am able to play against some of the most athletic people at Kansas State in basketball. Also, when I was in high school I did not know how to play racquetball; however, ever since college I played around three times a week. This lead to me winning the intramural racquetball tournament. College also helps people grow as a person in the school aspect. For example, going into college, I was not very sure if I was going to like getting a geology major. However, after the first week of my geology class, I knew geology was the major for me. I am so glad I stuck with it because it is so interesting and it has a good job market. Also, it has improved my work ethic in life and in school. For starters, I have a hard time learning a subject or topic right when I learn it. For some people they already knew it or they do not have to study much. So in order for myself to understand it, I have to review the notes every day after class. Overall, having to work a little harder in school, has improved my work ethic in school, and also in outside of school. That is my last main point in this
Nowadays, education become one of the most reason as consideration to workplace. The higher education we get; also higher what job can we get too. Even now, people that just graduated from Senior High School more difficult to get a job. No wonder, many people nowadays start realize about the important of education for their future and continue their study to the next level, university. Beside for searching for a job, people also go to university for social status. Sometimes people who can go to university is just a people that come from middle and up class. That’s why people can more appreciate people who go to university. Because as we know that university is not that cheap. Another reason is, to find new friends
Knowing that most students want to get a degree as quickly as possible, some colleges and universities have offered accelerated programs that allow students to use life experiences in lieu of course credits. One such institution, Friends University has offered life experience credits for several years. These life experiences may be based on a student's work or volunteer history. Some students, in fact, are able to gain half their college credits for such activities as working as a nurse's aide, volunteering at a battered women's shelter or starting a business. While the ability to accelerate getting one's college degree; does get a person into the work world, quickly going through college at a fast pace have a downside? Traditionally college
In high school, I became accustomed to having every resource in one place and being sought out by certain programs; however in college this is not the case. There are so many resources, but the student must seek resources him/herself. Accordingly, I looked for various resources that will prove to be beneficial for me during my time here at UCLA.
A person does not have to be a genius to get through college successfully, but they will need certain skills and traits to help guide them through it. Some classmates do not have these important skills and characteristics, which is why they will not make it far in this hard trip. Many undergraduates do not realize this trip is the beginning to the rest of your life, so sadly some choose to end it before it ever gets the chance to start. These students do not have certain characteristics that one would need to get through college successfully. There are many skills a student needs to possess especially when going to college. One will need to be motivated, structured, and frugal.
My reason for going to college is to grow academically and holistically as an individual. From creative writing to the athletics to women’s rights I wish to fully engrain myself in the St. Petersburg/ Tampa Bay area and be an extension of USF St. Petersburg. My ambitions in high school will only get bigger in college. I find that I have a wide array of interests from my “Mary Poppins bag of endless possibility”. I am enthusiastic to get an involved with the local YWCA and Women Empowerment Club on campus to get in touch with girls of today and provide them with a mentor who says they can do anything they want in this world. I’d also like to continue also working with young kids at a local soccer club. This year, I started being a coach for
