I am Margaret Mead, an American Anthropology. If I was given the opportunity to invite 3 social scientists to my dinner party I will invite B.F.Skinner, Max Weber, and Ruth Benedict. The main reason that I would invite three of them to discuss “Why do people kill” is because they fall into different subcategory. Due to that, I am able to receive different opinions about the topic as everyone will have a different point of view towards that. Anthropologist tends to focus more on human behaviors, which is why Ruth Benedict was invited. She has a belief in human behavior and personality will have an impact on an individual’s action because of the particular complex of personality and behavior. It is because people react and interact in their social life based on their knowledge. On the other words, people kill as they were taught to do so. B.F.Skinner, an American Psychology, believe that people changed based on their environment. He also developed the theory of operant conditioning, where means that a person’s behavior is determined by its consequences. He might have a contribution of people kill as they were affected by their environment, so rewards and punishments make it more or less likely that the behavior will occur again. This indicates that people kill as the environment has a huge impact on them because it leads to a short-term behavior change. Last but not least, Max Weber, a sociology will be invited. He has a belief in religion is important to the society because human will add on their own understanding of their situation. In this case, he will contribute to people kill due to their religion and how they were taught to do so.
