This means that you are taking all the credit for all of the effort that the original writer put into that work you just duplicated. Copying someone else’s work and taking all of the credit for it will not get you anywhere. It will not give you the satisfaction of saying that the original idea was something that you thought of. Instead it will make you worried about being discovered of plagiarizing someone else’s work and taking all of the credit for it. Being a student and getting in trouble for plagiarism is serious business which can make you fail an assignment, fail a course or even prevent you from graduating. Plagiarism is serious and not worth it. The best thing a person can do is to make sure whatever it is you are writing, ensure it is your own thoughts and ideas. It is ok to research information and cite it but bottom line; it has to be your own. Not all online sources we find on the internet are correct; we have to be careful with those sources as well. I can also make sure that if I do use some words or information from someone else, I identify where or who I got that information from. It is never ok for any student to get another person’s work, and just put their name on it and turn it in. First of all, if you want to be successful in life you need to learn to get through problems and situations on your own. If you are that person that is always finding a shortcut around the work, then you are most likely going to be a failure in the real word. This is such a serious matter that you can literally be expelled for this action. Therefore, no matter what the circumstances plagiarism is never an option.
Throughout the years of school, the constant lecture of cheating is one that many teachers instruct to their students. No matter the circumstance, cheating of any form does not bring any positive outcome that makes it worthwhile. Whether it’s a test, quiz, or homework, a student takes a major risk if decided upon to cheat. When teachers notice an issue of cheating they may report to administration, the student could be dismissed from an organization, or colleges could be notified about this behavior.
Plagiarism can get you in a lot of trouble. Students plagiarize each others papers daily. This is not right. Students have been sent to the office and gotten referrals. They also could have their parents called for being disrespectful to their fellow classmates and to the teacher. Many people have gotten taken out of their classes for copying others papers. For example, I knew a guy in my college class that asked me to give him my essay. I told the guy there was no way that it was too much of a risk. Then, the guy texted my friend asking the same question. My friend had a crush on the boy so therefore, she gave in and sent her essay. He told her he would change it up and no one would be able to tell it was the same essay. Then both my friend and the boy both got caught with plagiarism. They were both kicked out of the class. This is one example of why you should never cheat on an assignment that was assigned to you.
The purpose of English classes are to progressively teach students how to write, speak and use words in a grammatically correct way. Without a good grasp of the basics of English people risk not being able to communicate effectively through either written or verbal methods. Writing allows people to put their ideas and thoughts on paper and help spread knowledge. Even though a lot of people may have some of the same written ideas, nobody wants their work claimed by somebody else. One of the downsides due to the advancement of technology is the gradual decline of creativity in the writing process. The ease of finding an essay on the internet can make a student feel as though they are invincible in getting caught and that plagiarism is right.

If they are found guilty of plagiarizing I think it’s best that they are given a zero for that assignment and should not be allowed to make it

As I read these articles, it was surprising to hear artist points of views in regards to copying someone else’s ideas/works. Being original and coming up with your own ideas has always been emphasized in school.

An example of plagiarism for instance is when you go online and "copy and paste” an article and submit that information as your own. Even if you slightly changed a few words, or list the author it is still plagiarism. The work was not yours to claim, the ideas and words were not your own and submitting someone's work is not acceptable. Unfortunately, there are unethical and immoral people in this world.
