Why Should Kids Get Money For Good Grades

Should kids be given money for good grades? No I don’t think they should. In my opinion paying kids for making good grades will only lead to problems in the future. It is a solution that won’t last forever. Rather than paying children research says praise is the best thing to do. Paying can lead to bribery and eventually the child will gain motivation for money, not for learning and that can dull out there creativity.

Studies have shown that it is better to praise your child rather than give them money. In the last paragraph of “Should you bribe your kids to get good grades?” The article states that “praise by far, research says, is the best way to boost learning success.” So instead of giving your child money you should just do something simple as telling them “good job.” IT’S cheaper and more efficient and is a long term solution. Everyone likes to be bragged on, I remember all the times my parents bragged on me and it made me feel a since of pride for working hard and getting a good grade. Some may say kids will get that pride when being given but I say you can only get that sense of self pride from doing it for yourself and not for money. Praise is by far better.

In paragraph 10 of “should you bribe your kids to get good grades?” it says “That love of learning goes out, and instead what the child loves is cash and no the subject of learning.” Personally I don’t think school is all that bad. I like to learn something new everyday. Getting paid to learn and getting paid to pay attention dullens that out.
