A juice box, cookie, and chips, that just sounds so good right now. Just sitting in class right now at this very moment I am so hungry and want that. As a student I strongly think that students at Brussels American School should be allowed to eat snacks during classes. I believe that having snacks during classes would improve our school school for three reasons. Reason one, when we get to lunch we have barely any time to eat, reason two, is our lunch is at the end of the day, and reason three, is students work and focus better when they are not hungry and they are comfy. Firstly, When we get to lunch we have hardly any time to eat. We usually get 30 minutes in total. Sometimes at the most, our lunch line is 20 minutes just to get your food. Which adds up to 10 minutes to actually eat your food. Most students in middle school and high school buy lunch which makes the lunch line extensive. With trying to eat all your food a socialize with your friends it is rough. Since entering middle school now we don't have recess so we have to talk to our friends while switching classes and our little time at lunch. It feels like we never get to talk anymore. …show more content…
Elementary school eats lunch at 11:30 am! Middle and high school eat lunch around 1:00 which I think is totally unfair. 1:00 pm is also pretty late in the day. Plus, tons of food is being wasted because students do not have tons of time to eat. Students are also rushing to finish and get out the door by the time the bell rings. After lunch, we only have two more classes until the school day is over at 3:00. On Wednesdays we go home after lunch which makes lunch on W at the very end of the day. Right now I wish I could eat a snack while I am writing this
Do you think your school needs improvements? I think my school has a few, but the lunches are easily the most recognizable. The school board should change our lunches because they are microwaved, they are not filling, and the school lunches have the same thing every day of the week. Seriously, none of the kids like them, so just get us brand named foods.
One of the most controversial issues today is the question of how to address childhood obesity. Because of the large proportion of meals that children, particularly low-income children, consume in schools, cafeteria food has been targeted by dietary reformers as in need of a major overhaul. However, while many different types of new school menus have been proposed, the extent to which healthier foods can be offered remains controversial. Opponents to reform state that children will not eat healthier lunches, and that changing the food that children eat will have minimal impact, since the children will either bring food from home or eat food at home that is more 'kid friendly.'
HELP! I'm dying!... because school lunches are cringing! Students should be allowed to leave class during lunch hours, and be trusted to leave and return back in time for their next class. If high schools gave students this right it would teach them how to manage their time wisely and it would help them become responsible. Students who leave campus during lunch are most likely end up going to a local business to get their lunch which is both good for the students and the local businesses. Students with special food allergies could leave campus during lunch and go to their homes and get food they could actually eat and not be worried that their food could have been cross contaminated to something they're allergic to. Students who leave campus during lunch would come back energized and ready for their next classes.
Students could leave campus, get food, and be back for time given from the school. If students could leave campus to get either a restaurant, get food at home or a fast food restaurant the food would be so much better than the schools food. Students could go to a small restaurant tor a diner. Students could go home and make their selves food. They could go to fast foods restaurants around the area such as McDonald’s, Hardee’s, or Subway. As long as students are back within the amount of time given students should be able to leave campus to get food. School lunches are not healthy for students most of the time. You do not know what the food they are serving you is half the time. If students were allowed to leave school for lunch it would give them a little bit of freedom for an hour. If they could leave campus for lunch it gives them a chance to have a break from their classes. Many students tend to fall asleep in class, if they could have an hour lunch break they could go home eat and rest for a little while. Students may feel trapped staying in one place for 8 hours. Many students also get bored sitting in classes for so long leaving for lunch give them the chance to move around and get out of
Picture this: you are in study hall and you come back from Pre-Ap Biology because you needed help. You glance up to look at the clock and remember your Algebra homework, so you have to zoom through it. The bell rings right when you finish! You triumphantly open up your book bag to put it away. Then you spot your wretched English and Spanish homework crumpled up at the bottom. Amidst the fury and anger you realize that you still have an after school tutor meetup. After that, you have to rush to football practice. All of these homework troubles could be avoided if lunch and study hall were a bit longer. There are a ton of reasons that lunch and study hall should be longer, but there are a few critical reasons that you should know about. Study hall and lunch should be longer because people need more time to work and to see teachers for help on work. A reason that lunch should be longer is so that students can have more time to socialize.
Students in school all around the world are provided with school lunches. The problem is most students are not enjoying what they are eating. To solve the problem of students not enjoying their lunches some may argue that schools should provide off campus lunch, but many may also argue to stick to the regular on campus school lunches. Off campus lunches will benefit the students and will drastically make sure every student eats and enjoy lunch.
Agreeing to this amount of time, school districts and teachers believe 31 minutes is enough time for students to finish their meal while socializing with their friends. They did not, however, want a longer lunch period because they believed that it would only improve a student’s social skills- not their academic performance. Since giving students longer hours would mean shortening class time, this would cause difficulty for teachers to cover all of class material. Half an hour of lunch may seem long to school districts and teachers; however, most students would disagree. Through their perspective, an average of 31 minutes does not give students enough time to stop at their lockers to grab their lunch box nor wash their hands at a bathroom.
How would you like it if the lunch lines weren’t so full but your students all had a filled stomach? Well I honestly believe that if you gave only 11th and 12th graders the opportunity to leave campus for lunch and it would make everyone’s life easier.
Did you know that in the 1990s, many school struck deals with fast food companies, including McDonald’s and Taco Bell, allowing them to sell their products in the cafeterias? In the article “Cafeteria Wars,” written by Rebecca Zissou, there are 2 perspectives on whether or not school lunches should be healthy.
On a warm sunny day at Palm Desert Middle School, I was having fun playing tag with my fellow students and friends during lunch, when suddenly we were called in to sit back in the cafeteria. Time had seemed to have just flown by. I had barely any time to finish my lunch. Because of all this, I feel that we should have a six to twelve minute longer lunch.
The clock reads 11:39, in a few seconds the most important bell of the day will ring--the lunch bell. This bell sends students rushing to the cafeteria; some students will sit quietly at a table unpacking their lunch from home, others will wait in line to receive a lunch provided by the school. Everyday across America more than 31 million school lunches are served. The majority of these lunches fall under the regulations of the National School Lunch Program. The program, funded and regulated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has raised many questions among American citizens. One very important question is whether or not the government should be allowed to regulate/ban certain foods in the nation's school system. The government,
School lunches in California need to change fast! School lunches in California are a big part of childhood obesity. Childhood obesity should not be an issue at all because it is a bad thing for school sports to have obese kids rather than fit kids. In the opinions of many students, they state that it makes the school look better if the kids are more fit. Healthy kids meals healthy athletes, healthy athletes means better performance, better performance means more wins, and more wins means better school reputation. And that is why school lunches should be changed to healthier meal plans because it will also increase pride in our school and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Some schools across the nation don’t let kids talk at lunch just because it gets too loud. One study shows that if kids socialize at lunch or socialize at all they could become less stressed and less depressed. Non Social people can be depressed, stressed, and bipolar, and if kids socialize more they could get more of their emotions out. So yes, kids should socialize during lunch and to allow this, they should have longer lunch periods. That is why kids should have longer lunch
buy more food from school if there is both. A lot more kids will not ask their parents to make their lunch
To unwind from tests, teachers, school work, and learning. All those subjects are very stressful in a young teenager’s life. Our lunch hour is the only hour from 8:00 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. that we have that we can just get away from school, and relax and have fun.
