Political Essay
Government has been a paramount piece of the United States’s development after July 4, 1776. The role of government has been pivotal to the process of how America operates today. Government is an important part of America’s society because it protects individual rights of people. Government is a forever changing entity because it is a necessity to satisfy the people’s demands. As a political party, Democrats and Republicans have many views on different topics in America. Although the Democrats and Republicans may have different stances on modern issues in America, many of these politicians seem to have the same attitude toward changing policies on these issues/government. I believe that the democratic party is more appropriate party to represent the United States because of their philosophy. The traditional values of America needs to be altered and the democratic party represents the change that America needs. The democratic party best represents an ever-changing society by exemplifying the desires of the citizens as is apparent in their policies in regards to abortion, gun control, and same-sex marriage.
To begin with, the Democratic Party is superior in regards to abortion because this party represents citizens more than republicans. In the Democratic standpoint, we believe that it’s a woman’s choice if she wants to keep her child. It shouldn’t be up to politicians or the government whether someone keeps a child or not because this is a special
Many people have different opinions on political subjects. The ways a person may feel about these subjects determine what they are in the political world. I personally do not follow politics like other people older than me do, but I do consider myself to be a moderate democrat. Both of my parents are democrats, and they choose to be of this political spectrum because they feel like the Democratic Party represents them. They feel as they stand for policies that will better them as people. With me, I am my own person so I take in the considerations of my parents’ choice, but also make my own decisions. I do believe in some of the policies and ideas of the Democratic Party, but disagree on
The Republican Party think that the Fourteenth Amendment’s protections should apply to unborn children and the unborn child should have the fundamental right to life. However, the Democratic Party strongly disagree with this idea to a fundamental right to life. “Democrats stand behind the right of every woman to choose. [They] believe it is a constitutional liberty” (Democratic Party Platform). They fully support a woman’s right to make decision regarding her own pregnancy and health. Abortion is a personal decision between a woman and her doctors, therefore it is not a place for the government to get in the way. While the Democratic Party is pro-choice, they believe that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. These two widely different stances on the issue stem primarily from religious and moral influence. Abortion is not an issue that can be played in the middle. There is one side or the other, and people make their choices based on their morals and religious preferences.
In the assignment, we were supposed to take the surveys to identify our political leanings which I successfully did. So, as a result of my survey, it shows that I fall under Moderate Democrat category which clearly mentioned that I belong to democrats rather than republic. There are many political issues that arises while it comes to develop the nation and state. Marriage is one of the issues. According to democrats, marriage should be performed only between men and women as they are different gender. They meant that homosexual marriage is extremely prohibited in the state. This is prevalent not only in democratic party but in almost all part of the world. But I believe that marriage can be done with any gender and we should respect every relation. The other issue can be abortion. The democrats party tells that it is a personal decision to do abortion. They said that the government cannot do anything regarding it. But what I believe is, most of the women are forced to abort the unborn child due to many reasons like their
. The Republicans believe that abortion are rooted firmly in the belief that an unborn child, similar to any person in this nation, has an individual right to life that ought not be encroached upon by others .The party adamantly believes that the rights ensured to all Americans in the Fourteenth Amendment apply to unborn kids also. On the other hand, the Democrats believe firmly in a woman’s right to decide whether or not to abort a pregnancy. The Democratic views on abortion strongly support Roe vs. Wade, and include a woman being given the right to abort a pregnancy regardless of whether or not she is able to pay for it. They believe that "fetus removal is an individual choice between a lady, her family, her specialist, and her ministry;
Abortion is a very debatable topic and both parties have very conflicting views on it. Republicans refuse to put any money toward the movement of abortion and are pro-life. On the website www.OnTheIssues.com, it says “Faithful to the
For many years since 1879 citizens of the United States wait in line to vote for the next great president who will help the country stand tall for another four years. But the mistake doesn’t lie in who you vote for, but what you are voting for and supporting. We sometimes ask ourselves, “what does each party do?” or “what are their beliefs for our country?”
In most abortion cases, it was just a mistake made by two people. They should have to deal with their mistakes, but that shouldn’t include ruining any chances in life. I suppose I can conclude that I follow the democratic view on abortion.
The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government,” Thomas Jefferson. This quote explains one of the many reasons Jefferson created the Democratic-Republic party. The Democratic-Republicans resisted the idea of a new federal constitution, they stood for states rights in opposition to a central Govt, and strict interpretation of the constitution. If we could, the people of 2016 America would vote for the Democratic-Republic party because of their stance on immigration, funding the national debt, and the Jay Treaty. The main idea of the Democratic-Republican party was, to represent the interest of the common free man.
Both parties have their pros and cons in many things like the way that individual states and citizens are treated or how the country is conducted during times of war. Both parties have great reasons to why they are a valid alternative. However, in my opinion the Federalist Party is the best option because it controls the country as a whole and leads with a strong central government. I agree with the statements made in the constitution and I value the way that it is used to make decisions in the United
There are many different viewpoints in American politics today. The main political parties that people affiliate with are either Democrat and Republican. There are also people who do not claim a certain political party; these people are known as Independents. The Republican Party is typically known as having very conservative views on how America should be run. The Democratic Party is typically known as having very liberal views on how they think the country should be run. I believe that the best way to run the United States of America is with a government having liberal views. Liberal ideals on social aspects, tax issues and regulated markets will make the American government the most successful in leading the people and our county fairly, and bringing liberty to
In conclusion, both the Democratic and the Republican Parties have the interest and the wellbeing of the citizens at heart. Despite, the Republicans are known to be a much more conservative party on all issue; their ideology was the best for the American people in the sense that they believed their system was fair and benefited to every American. Again, the Republicans believe that people should be able to live in greater freedom and prosperity if they encourage and directed to the right path in their decisions. One unique thing their ideology is that despite numerous challenges and modifications, this ideology has been able to persist through over the years and shape the nation and government in various historic ways. This is a true testament
In America, there are three major civic stances: conservatism, liberalism, and libertarianism. The liberal stance is the only stance, which offers the foundation to move forward. The following paper will briefly explain, certain aspects of conservatism and libertarianism, and will advance the idea, America must move forward with a more liberal attitude. At heart, this writing will argue a strong government is of the utmost importance in moving this country forward to the future. While other political agendas advocate liberty and freedom, the liberal stance truly offers a realistic approach and method of achieving those aspects of American life.
When George Washington left office, he warned the nation about political parties fearing they were dangerous to the way government should function. Despite his warning, political parties developed and changed American politics forever. By definition, a political party is "a group of office holders, candidates, activists, and voters who identify with a group label and seek to elect to public office individuals who run under that label" (O'Connor and Sabato 437). The creation of political parties can be traced back to the differing views of Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton while they served in Washington's cabinet. Jefferson's Democratic-Republican counterpart today is the Democratic Party while Hamilton's Federalists are similar to
Have you ever thought about the drastically different political views on major issues in America? Democrats, Republicans, and every party in between have always disagreed on both national and global issues. The two majority dominating parties, Democrat and Republican, have went head to head for years over anything to argue about, and it's unlikely that will change anytime soon. On the views of civil rights for women, civil rights for LGBTQ+ citizens, and abortion these two parties clash heads. Times have changed and the more traditional or republican views on these issues are just outdated.However, Democrats have adapted to these changing circumstances.
When I tallied my views with the democratic and republican party, I found my views about the issues get matched with democratic party. It seems more concerned about the environment. It has recognized the things that are causing environmental problem like the crop failure and drought which is caused by the climate disruption. It also recommends statewide and national clean policies. Also, it suggests the policies such as public education programs that promote methods and benefits of energy conservation, the enforcement of the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act for all industries.
