As you just graduated from middle school, it is time to realize you are not studying basic things anymore. The start of your freshman year is approaching. You are now becoming more mature and older and now you are about to reach another level. The start of freshman year is quite nerve-racking.. The start of my high school career was very exciting, however, I was very nervous. I had a small circle of friends and I also had upperclassmen friends who had my teachers as their own in the past and were able to help me get to know the teachers techniques very well. Joining clubs and being a part of extracurricular activities helped me get comfortable with people easier and allowed me to be myself more quick. Being a senior in high school currently, I am taking everything much more seriously and studying harder for not only school quizzes and tests, also I am preparing myself for ACT’s and SAT’s I must take to get into college. For all the incoming freshmen reading this, here is a letter to help you stay focused and getting involved. …show more content…
Teachers will notice that you are willing to do the best of your ability if you remain focused and it may help by a possibility of extra credit. If you do not remain focused, your grades may begin to decrease. Many people have friends who tend to throw them off during class, but it is your responsibility to distance yourself from them and do what you have to do to focus on your work. Grades are very important. Take it serious while you can. Although freshman year may be the easiest, each year the papers get longer, homework doubles, and teachers start to prepare you for the college level and may apply more pressure. Never blow doing a homework assignment or studying for a test because you are feeling a little overwhelmed. Stay on top and never give

Each and every school presents itself with new opportunities for their students; UHS presents some of the best opportunities in the country for music students such as myself. UHS provides their students with one of the best music programs available in California. This is one of the many reasons I long to attend UHS. As a violinist I want the best way to improve, along with honing my skills and University High School is the best place to do so. In addition the small classroom, as well as the low school population sparks my interest. I believe that the enclosed environment will provide enhanced collaboration between the professor, and student. This connection between mentor and pupil is critical to victory in high school, and large schools with
Being a freshman is the hardest of your four years in high school. Have you ever been pressured to be the best person you can be? This is how my year was as a freshman. Freshman year was the most different I never thought I would of found my way around the school when I first started to go there. Freshman year was the best year throughout my years of high school and it was the only year I had friends. During this year I had a lot of anxieties which dealt with me thinking I’m gonna be alone and not have any friends throughout the year to support me through the whole thing. Also, I would think of the pressure of not doing good in any of my classes so I would think it would affect my GPA in the future. The transition from middle school to high school was a different type of thing to do.

Coming from middle school can be a hard transition because there are so many new things to learn. New students will face a new campus, teachers, friends, and overall a new way of life. I am a Mexican American woman. I was definitely aware that coming into this college I would be a minority, but I was not really able to understand what that meant until I sat in every single one of my classes and felt that there was not one person I could relate to like I did in High School. There were girls in my bigger classes, but I can count on one hand the number of Mexican girls I have come across here at the Engineering School. Another reason I may not have been able to find friends I could relate with is I did not live on campus for financial reasons. Every single time I felt out of place or like I was not taken into account I turned it into something positive rather than negative. It is very important that Hispanic woman become more
I would like to attend Kennedy Catholic High School for many reasons. One reason I would like to attend Kennedy is because of the better education as a private and Catholic school. When I shadowed at Kennedy, I noticed that there were a lot of AP class available and enjoyed seeing people were placed at the levels of their needs. Another reason I would want to attend Kennedy Catholic is because of the wide variety of sports that I am interested in such as Volleyball, Basketball, and Football. I also like that there are many clubs to join or create. Specifically, I am interested in joining or creating a cultural diversity club. In addition, from the moment I shadowed, I knew I felt comfortable being there. The kind community, diverse students,

School, a routine that I have to complete, every day, five days a week. Each one of those days I carry my bag, my purple and pink diamond patterned backpack to store everything from the most insignificant items like tissues and gum to the important ones like pencils and books. All these things I carry, help get me through high school and to reach one of my next goals of going to college. My folders, stuffed to the brim, shredded, ripped, that have papers falling out of all sides, hold all my important notes and assignments that need to be saved to study for finals. My extra daily contacts, located in the mid sized pocket of my bag, with prescription -3.50 and -4.25, that are ready to replace any that fall out, so I can read the board and store
Although the first year of high school is a big transition, it’s crucial in determining the remaining years of high school because, First, having good grades will determine whether or not you get accepted the university you want and there are more opportunities for scholarships. Second, joining a club in high school will give you an insight in leadership and teamwork. Third, Slacking of your freshman year in high school is a bad thing to do because it will affect your senior year and all the classes you missed or failed, you will have to retake all of them. Lastly, all of these factors all come into play your senior year they can either help you or make your high school years miserable. First, having good grades in your freshman year will open up the doors to more opportunities coming your way. My freshman year wasn't the best I got D's and C's and almost failed two classes. Laziness played a big factor in why I got bad grades I was lazy to do homework and any projects. I had some advice from my cousin’s they would always tell me not to mess up freshman year, but, I ignored them and you start to pay for it senior year by retaking all those classes you failed. To get better grades I set up a planner and wrote down due dates and set up a time organizer at home and this helped me better organize my time to do the work. My advice to all new freshmen is to set up a work schedule for your work it will better your studying habits and make you aware of due dates and the time you
do you think it's important to go to college straight out of high school ?
I attend a relatively small, private, Catholic high school in northern New Jersey called Don Bosco Prep. I am involved in a variety of activities including sports, music, and various clubs and organizations. My school encouraged me to grow academically, socially, culturally, and spiritually. Our school motto is “empowering young men for life”. I feel that my school has given me the tools to be an engaged student. The school promotes a brotherhood which has benefitted me personally. Whether a friendship forged from a study group or one formed with a teammate, each friendship brings different experiences to my life for which I am grateful.
“When students don’t walk away from their education, more of them walk the stage to get their diploma,” stated by Barack Obama in the 2012 State of the Union Address. In recent years, there has been a debate over high school dropouts, and if they should stay in school until they are 18, or they graduate. High school dropouts should stay in school until they are 18 because they make less money than students with a diploma or college education. High school graduates also have better employment rates. High school dropouts can also have a much higher chance of ending up in jail, than a high school graduate.
