World War II was one of the most significant wars in history. It is also the deadliest with a death toll of, approximately, 56.4 million; almost half of which were Soviet fatalities. Furthermore, the amount of people who met their demise during the time of this war is absolutely devastating. World War II could have been avoided if there was better cooperation and communication across the globe.

World war two was a very deadly and gory war, one of America’s most deadly in fact. Around 80 million soldiers, civilians, and Jewish people were killed. The Versailles treaty produced German anger and humiliation sowing the seeds for world war two. Adolf Hitler was an evil man and many of the non-believers in Hitler, commanded malediction on him. Billions of soldiers died, thousands of families were affected. Versailles Treaty did nothing more than throw countries onto a trapdoor of chaos, battle, unsolved arguments.

The battle of World War II was a very difficult thing to go through. “World War II began on September 1, 1939, when 1.5 million German troops invaded Poland.”(World War II) World War II made people leave their families and go fight. It also got countries involved that originally weren’t and don’t need to be involved. To the United States, World War II is believed to be a good war, and why wouldn’t it be considered as such? During World War II, in addition to stopping mass genocide and stopping the spread of Nazism and Fascism, the United States beat Japan after their attack on Pearl Harbor. As a result, the U.S. was no longer in the Depression and the United States became a world power. However, in “The Best War Ever,” Michael C.C. Adams argues that as a result of Hollywood’s glamorization of the war, government propaganda/censorship, and the widespread of economic prosperity, Americans were kept in the dark about the truth regarding World War II resulting in the popular belief and myth that World War II was a good war.

Many regard World War II as the best war ever, but why? It seems the one fact that stands out in American minds is that the Allied Powers were fighting against people who were perceived as "evil”, such as Adolf Hitler and Emperor Hirohito. The question arises, “was World War II a good war?” The previously stated question can be answered in a number of ways; race and ethnicity often had a hand in what jobs women could do, and social class also had an impact on what job position women had and how much money they would earn. Although the second World War brought many casualties, World War II resulted as a justifiable war because it saved nations from German exploitation, began as a last resort after all forms of appeasement failed, and brought the German powers to an unconditional surrender.

The vast majority of Americans supported World War II (WWII) after Pearl Harbor was bombed, recognizing a fascist threat to Western democracy. WWII was a good war. It had the ability to unite America. They united against Nazism and fascism. But even a good War has its bad times. If you look behind what you think happened at what really happened in WWII it becomes clear that the U.S. has nothing to be proud about.

The United States has been involved in many conflicts, but the World Wars are two of the major conflicts, which many people lost their lives. World War II, being the more recent war, is the war that the United States should have entered earlier than they have. The World Wars are two of the most violent wars we have had in the world, but World War II, was by far, the more hurtful war out of the two. World War II has violated many human rights, and has produced many social injustices to the people who have suffered during this war. Millions of people could have been saved from the Nazi’s lust for purity if the United States would have entered the war earlier than they have.
