Why You Should Finish High School

What I want for my future to be like? In my future I want to graduate with a high school diploma. After high school I want to go to the U.S. Army for Eight years. After that I would like to go to college to become a Pediatrician.

There are a number of reasons why you should go to college. If you go to college you will get extra payment after college, more knowledge, and you could possibly become a entrepreneur.

High school literacy is linked to the high school dropout rate. While the high school dropout rates have declined over the past decade, the facts that influence this phenomenon continue to be consistent. There are multiple reasons for why students would drop out of high school. The following are just some of the reasons to why kids might dropout, including that they missed too many days, they thought they could not complete the course requirements, they didn’t feel safe, or even that they had to support their families (Doll, Eslami and Walters). A majority of students that dropout said that they were not motivated to work hard. They also said that if the teachers would have tried to push them harder they would have stayed in school. 70% of these students said that they believed that they could have graduated if they had tried (Azzam).

When I was in middle school, I truly didn’t care for school. I just thought it was a mandatory part of the everyday adolescent child. I came to school each day dreading the fact that I have to sit for hours and listen to lectures that I thought to myself that I don’t need in the future. It was the beginning of the second semester in eighth grade, I was called in by my advisor. She told me that if I don’t improve my grades, I would have to repeat a grade, and I would have to wait two years until I enter high school. This unnerving fact stopped me in my tracks, and I remember the cold feeling that suddenly surged through my body. There was a possibility that I could fail and repeat a grade. I attend a relatively small, private, Catholic high school in northern New Jersey called Don Bosco Prep. I am involved in a variety of activities including sports, music, and various clubs and organizations. My school encouraged me to grow academically, socially, culturally, and spiritually. Our school motto is “empowering young men for life”.  I feel that my school has given me the tools to be an engaged student. The school promotes a brotherhood which has benefitted me personally. Whether a friendship forged from a study group or one formed with a teammate, each friendship brings different experiences to my life for which I am grateful.

Clearly, if you want to earn a decent wage that will enable you to support yourself you need to do more than just finish high school.

It takes lots of hard work, education, and dedication to become a veterinarian. A veterinarian, or vet, is a doctor that treats and diagnoses animals. When your animal is sick, hurt, or you are in need of medical advice you take your pet to the vet. When I graduate high school, I plan on going to school to be a vet.

Each and every school presents itself with new opportunities for their students; UHS presents some of the best opportunities in the country for music students such as myself. UHS provides their students with one of the best music programs available in California. This is one of the many reasons I long to attend UHS. As a violinist I want the best way to improve, along with honing my skills and University High School is the best place to do so. In addition the small classroom, as well as the low school population sparks my interest. I believe that the enclosed environment will provide enhanced collaboration between the professor, and student. One thing I want to accomplish is to graduate from high school, so I can get my dream job. First of all, I want to graduate from high school. I need to be better at school by getting good grades. I want to accomplish reading class and be successful in my fluency. I will not restrict my homework. I plan to reach this goal by getting a diploma. I plan to get better at reading and writing. Asking people to help me and help my brother at school. I will perpetuate my knowledge. Finally,I will undertake pilot school. I will be capable to pass pilot school. Everyone has their own opinion on what they should do after high school whether that be college, vocational school or starting into the work force. Some people want to be engineers, nurses or even stay at home moms. I decided that going to college was the best thing for me. Even though the cost, college is important.

To start, I would like to accomplish getting all A's in my eighth grade year. I want to graduate high school. I also would like to go to medical school to become a hospitalist.

College can be very beneficial, and it can bring you better job opportunities. You will earn more money than a regular job like as a cashier at Target or Walmart. Having a degree will open up more career options. When you have a degree, you are qualified for more positions than what you’ve done previously. There are many reasons why college is worth going to, despite the high cost. Therefore, people should go to college so that they can earn more money, have better opportunities, and to have more knowledge after high school.

Many people around me have influenced me to finish high school and earn my diploma. The majority of my relatives attended high school but did not graduate. At the same time, I realized that not having a high school diploma will affect my future and it will be a challenge for future employment. The moment I walked into high school, my main goal was to walk across the stage and receive my diploma. The reason is that I felt proud, I was allowed to move on to college, and I have a successful life.

I have been born and raised in Ramsey, Minnesota. However, because I attended Anoka high school and Anoka is super close to where I live, many times I will tell people that’s where I live. One of the reasons why I came to the University of Minnesota is because I can go home pretty much whenever I want, it’s only about a half hour drive and I can also catch a ride on the North Star train. I also have always liked being surrounded by people so I wanted to come to a bigger school to get that experience. The U has also been a dream of mine because my parents, more specifically my dad, are big fans of the Gophers. When my fifteen-year old cousin was in high school, she was required to jump out of bed as early as five-thirty in the morning in order for her to arrive to school on time. As a result, she did not receive an adequate amount of sleep daily, which led to her dozing off her classes; the lack of sleep in her high school years essentially reflected poorly on her school performance.
