1. Wi-Fi is one of the various methods for a computer to access the internet. Wi-fi stands for Wireless Fidelity and is probably the most common internet connection method out there. You would probably be able to access Wi-Fi from almost anywhere considering that many households, malls and even entire streets have Wi-Fi hotspots scattered across them. Being able to connect to the internet without any wires or cables have probably been a dream for many people in the past. With Wi-Fi being able to trump any other methods with its wireless connection, there is really no wonder why Wi-Fi is so popular nowadays. 2. There are 2 methods: WEP and WPA. WEP stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy. WEP is one of the older methods of networking encryption, but like all the others it has a 10-digit password. This method goes with several disadvantages, one is where it can be very easy for someone to hack and break into your network. Also if the password is ever changed, it needs to be changed on each individual computer which will take a lot of time. However with WEP, the average hacker couldn 't break into your network, as it does take quite an experienced hacker to break into your network. Even with the password alone, you basically discourage anyone from trying to connect to your network anyway.
