Not wanting to feel like he owns her and controls her. Back in the day many women were objectified and treated as if they were property and not a human being. No woman wants to feel like that and also many women had no say so in anything. They couldn’t vote, own property (and if they left their husband they had no right to share the property or even own their kids anymore), or do anything really without their husband’s approval. He travelled land after land asking each lady their opinion or their thought and he would always get different answers so later on he became confused and lost hope in finding the answer.
