Will there be a WWIII? Most likely not. Countries from around the world are trying to prevent this from happening, because if we have a WWIII, we would be our own demise. First off, There are so many nuclear warheads in the world, that we could blow up the whole earth. As it says in this article, from a scientist/mathematician "There are an estimated total of 20,500 nuclear warheads in the world today. If the average power of these devices is 33,500 Kilotons, there are enough to destroy the total earth landmass.” For comparison, the largest bomb ever detonated was 50 megatons - or 50000000000000 pounds of TNT. If we can produce 1 pound of TNT per minute, it would take 1,902,540 YEARS to produce the same amount of force one bomb can …show more content…
Maybe the terrorists want it though. They seem to like mass destruction. Heres another fact: It would only take a couple bombs to destroy the US. This is not even counting wind carrying radioactive dirt and dust miles away. If a bomb was dropped in the UK, people on the east coast of the US could suffer radiation poisoning. Secondly, thermonuclear bombs, or hydrogen bombs, work by using the energy of a fission bomb to compress and heat fusion fuel. This means that it has incredible nuclear fallout, and if only a few were dropped, we would go into nuclear winter, no crops would grow, and everything would die. Even if they were dropped in the same place at the same time on the other side of the world, the nuclear winter would engulf the world in a shade, essentially turning it into a giant snowball and causing another ice age. Going back to the question on the table, will there be a WWIII? Maybe, if North Korea makes a big mistake. The USA cannot nuke North Korea because some of the fallout would land onto China, South Korea, and Russia. We do not want to go to war with Russia, neither China. If we go to war with Russia, then the world ends, if we go to war with China, its allies would join in and our allies would join in and the world would end. The geography of North Korea is perfect for them because we would have to resort to foot combat and carpet bombing, which is not preferable. If we
The threat of nuclear weapons and nuclear war still exists today as 8 countries are known to have nuclear weapons capabilities. Power seems to lie with countries who have nuclear capabilities because nuclear weapons are one of the most dangerous and powerful weapons. The threat of nuclear war will always exist as long as there are nuclear
The world will never be the same again with the creation of the bomb because it effects not only the United States and the USSR but the rest of the world as well. As a new idea in the world, a more destructive bomb is considered an unimaginable concept. Once the world learns of the Hydrogen Bomb and its and that it is more destructive than the atomic bomb, the world will fear the United States and will change its view on the American people. With the creation of the hydrogen bomb ideas of America will be negative: “a large part of the world believe that we are going far beyond any possible military needs, that we have abandoned our program peace and are resigned to war” (pp.4), America would look like it was preparing for war and the creation of the hydrogen bomb would get the USSR’s attention, leading to a continuation of the present arms war, potentially leading to a breakout in war between the two most powerful countries in the
World War II World War II was a pivotal event of the 20th century and a defining
Since the end of the World War II, the world countries are facing in political hostility characterized by threats, propaganda, and other measures short of open warfare called Cold War. Within the nonstop Cold War of the world countries; finally, the World War III will be coming. Unlike the other past big world wars, World War III will be the most disastrous for human life. The reason is because many countries are armed with nuclear weapons. For example, at this time 16 thousand nuclear weapons are stored at sites in fourteen countries and many are ready for immediate use( source : www.icanw.org). These nuclear weapons are more than enough to make the planet uninhabitable. Initial blast of nuclear weapons could
People across the world want this war to happen, the war will help other countries to become a higher world power overcoming the United States. The home industries will not make products because they will have to produce armory at home. European countries will shutdown trade to United States allowing no help from outside countries. “As your limited resources begin to fail, shut out from the markets of Europe as you will be.” Both the North and the South will shut down with their needed resources.
“Our men are being put into the hottest fighting and are being sacrificed in harebrained ventures like Bullecourt and Passchendaele …and there is no one in War Cabinet to lift a voice in protest…so Australian interests are suffering badly and Australia is not getting anything like the recognition it deserves.” So wrote General, later Sir, John Monash to his wife on October the 18th 1917.
Nuclear weapons have been a present factor in my lifetime, and in WWII the bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki caused thousands of deaths. Nuclear weapons are the most destructive, inhumane weapons ever created. Both in the scale of the devastation that they cause, and in their uniquely persistent, genetically damaging radioactive fallout, they are not like any other weapon. A single nuclear bomb detonated over a city could kill millions of people. The use of tens or hundreds of nukes would disrupt the world's climate, causing lots of famine.(Arguments for nuclear abolition)
As the arms race builds in the world the threat of nuclear warfare grows and grows everyday. There could be a new Cold War on the horizon, but not between the United States and Russia. Many countries that never had nuclear technology in the past are now attaining the knowledge and resources that they need to build up their arsenal. A perfect example of this is the situation between India and Pakistan. These two countries have been fighting each other for many years. Recently, each gained nuclear technology for warheads. Now, instead of just fighting and arguing with each other, they have nuclear warheads aimed at each other. Any day the conflict could grow out of control, and the two neighbors could both end up as the world did in "There Will Come Soft Rains."
As for today, what I’m afraid of today is, will there be another World War and if there might not
Bombs are very dangerous weapons. In World War Two, many cities and towns were destroyed during bombings The bombs would even destroyed entire ships. Millions of people were killed by bombs. The undetonated bombs would pose a serious risk. The bombs used during World War II were very effective in defeating the enemy. America could defeat Japan
During World War Two, a guy named Hitler made his way up the chain in Germany and gain power and he decided to lead his army with the help of Japan’s and Italy’s army; he attacked France, Britain, and the Soviet Union. While doing that, he also captured Jew and put them in camps were that became their graves. This event in history is called the Holocaust. In America December 7, 1941; Pearl Harbor just got bombed by the Japanese. The day after Japan declared war on America; followed by Germany and Italy declaring war on America. Ten weeks after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a document that would change all the lives of Japanese and Japanese descent life's. That document was the Executive Order of 9066.
Nazi Germany fell from power in the later 1930’s, it drew a line in the political agenda between those with remaining power and those that fought and lost the right. This left countries such as the United States and Russia having many economic and political differences with no choice but to solve their problems through civil conflict. Communist ideals were still fighting for existence and the struggle for political change within Russian boundaries was leaving distress and crisis between The West (United States) and the East (Russia). Inside the Soviet Union, “the struggle for change is producing turmoil; the forces of reaction, of reform and of disintegration are in contention, the outcome uncertain.”(carl jaysen) This was hard to construct what the outcome would be when nuclear weapons were introduced. Powerful countries would no longer have to physically send in troops to a country in times of crisis because nuclear power was more readily available. Also in World War II, “an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the japanese city of Hiroshima. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki.”(history.com) These events left thousands immediately dead and many others shocked across the world.“ The development of nuclear weapons and the means of delivering them accurately at intercontinental ranges opened a wide and increasing gap between what was technically
In this Essay I'm going to speak about why we are learning about (WW2), and why we should learn about it. Why should we learn about the World War 2? The WW2 had so many historic moments in the years from 1939-1945. Over 50 million people died. Germany, Japan, Soviet, France, Italia, England, America and also many other country's was involved in this war.
World War II had a definite impact on the United States. It changed how people lived and how other people were viewed. Not many people realize the treatment of people from our own country during World War II. Three groups of people that were affected were women, African Americans, and Japanese Americans. The lives of these people were changed drastically, whether by having to work, mistreatment because of skin color, or by being blamed for something that was done by a country they were native to.
“The world must know what happened, and never forget.” (World War 2) General Eisenhower reflecting upon the world war II, and acknowledging it as a pertinent event in the history of the United States of America. War is war, it is not pretty or humane, but what it is, is a diplomatic way in which to settle disputes and aggressions between countries. By analyzing these wars of the past, the people of the country can learn many things, be it mistakes made by one side, strategy from someone else or battle field etiquette. And it is through this analysis that the human race is able to further itself to not repeat the mistakes made by their ancestors. There are many lessons to be learned from looking at the
