An analysis of the famous playwright, William Shakespeare, reveals the struggles he overcame and activities he did during his childhood, as a playwright, his involvement with the Globe theatre after moving to England, and during the time of his death, along with some interesting and concerning facts about him. Around the age of 18, William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, whose age was 26, eight years older than William. At the time of their marriage, Anne was already carrying their first child, Susanna, who was born in May of 1853 (History.com). Two years after Susanna had been baptized, Anne gave birth to twins, a son named Hamnet and a daughter named Judith. Although Judith and Susanna had lived a good expectancy, Hamnet died at a young 11 years. During the time period between 1585 and 1592, it is unknown what activities or occupations William Shakespeare conducted, hence it is known as the “Lost Years.” There are rumors that Shakespeare was known to poach deer on a local politician's estate, but it is not currently known how Shakespeare had spent his time or if such events even occurred (History.com). To date the only information that was derived from that nonexistent cycle of knowledge was that William moved from Stratford-upon-Avon to the city of London, leaving Anne and his children behind to pursue his career as an actor and a playwright (Shmoop Editorial Team).
