William Shakespeare was thought to be one of the most famous writers and poets known to the world. The playwright was born to an illiterate glove maker (To Be or Not To Be Shakespeare) on April 23 in the year 1564. As Shakespeare grew in his young adult years, ten poet began acting as a career (To Be or Not To Be Shakespeare). Soon after, William discovered that there was more passion in writing plays than acting in the theatre. There after, Shakespeare wedded Anne Hathaway and has three children. The new father and playwright begins writing narratives, such as Romeo and Juliet ("Shakespeare"). Shakespeare is known for inventing thousands of words. One of the reasons the poet invented them was because the author was not given the opportunity to receive a good education (Tragic Qualm 18-21). Another one of the reasons Shakespeare was able to invent such a variety of words is his extensive knowledge of languages. Shakespeare read Latin, Roman, and some of Greek (William Shakespeare). This gave Shakespeare the ability to use root words and minimize the length of a word. Most of the words that the author invented are unique, yet some are still continuously used today. The vocabulary, although, appears to be very dismal in Shakespeare's work. Along with the dismal vocabulary, plots of the narratives are, at times, extremely dark. Also known as the Black Plague, the slow death of a victim caused the person's limbs to begin turning black. As the person gradually died, the infection spread until the body gave up on fighting the disease. (Plague: Black Death). Another tragedy is Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare's most popular plays. Shakespeare's unique writing style and vocabulary usage creates a plot that mixes romance and tragedy. Romeo and Juliet's love story has such a tragic ending that scholars are not able to categorize the play. Everything that could go wrong in the play, went wrong.
