William Shakespeare became one of the most notorious poets ,playwrights,and dramatists of the 16th century. Having around 37 plays and 154 sonnets place to his name, inevitably leading Shakespeare to become one of the most recognizable names within literature. Shakespeare throughout his many writings kept a distinct style which consisted of repeating plans of how each characters would function and interact with one another to lead to up to an opposing conclusion. Individual plays like Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo and Juliet demonstrate the connections between the similar actions, characters , and events that take place within different playwrights. However; even though writings like Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo and Juliet share many plot , events and characters , they’ve gained opposing genres ; one which has been classified as a comedy, while the other a tragedy. Demonstrating the idea that events themselves don’t wholly determine the genre of each playwright but rather the outcomes of these symmetrical events.

At the start of both plays the main characters Claudio and Romeo begin to follow the abstract concept of lost at first sight . In Much Ado About Nothing Claudio converse with Bendick about Hero’s beauty soon after they arrive back from war stating “ In mine eye she is the sweetest lady that ever I looked on” Claudio convinces himself that Hero is the ‘Holy Grail’ of all bachelorettes and promises to make her his wife .
