Pat Wiebe is an 87-year-old woman who lives in a home in Winnipeg, Manitoba with her husband, Laverne. Laverne had a fall last year, and still is experiencing difficulty with mobility because of it. He is also beginning to experience short term memory loss, leaving Pat responsible for his care from managing pills, to minor bed positioning and assisting him to bathe. Prior to Laverne’s fall, Pat was very active in her community. She loved to bake for friends and family, and until she was 83 years old taught piano lessons from her home. Pat still gets out for her weekly bible study on Thursday Mornings, but this is her only scheduled “outing” every week. Pat expressed that she still feels active in her community, but that she has chosen to take on different roles that allow her to do them from home. For example, Pat used volunteer with the drop in center for Youth for Christ in downtown Winnipeg. She would spend her afternoons there 3 days a week, hanging out with students and specifically organizing crafts. She now volunteers her time by baking cookies and other sweet treats that are used for snack during the drop in. This baking takes up a large portion of Pat’s day, but does not allow her the same social, physical and mental stimulation that her volunteering used to.

One such story involves non-repatriate Edward Dickenson, who was a cook while in captivity. He was accused of stealing food from other prisoners by taking a little from each one and then using the excess to trade for tobacco or candy. Another non-repatriate, LaRance Sullivan, was accused of doing the same thing. Both of these men were also accused of murdering or at the very least, causing the death of fellow prisoners. These accusations along with the charge that they stole food are impossible to prove though. Nonetheless, it is entirely possible that these stories were made up in order to make the non-repatriates look like cowards after they made the choice to go to China. The case made against Harold Webb for selling food is based on more solid evidence however. The case against Otho Bell is also damning as he stole and then sold food to from sick inmates. Still, the twenty-three who initially chose to go to China appear to have similar camp records as many who came home after the war.
The novel No Signature ratifies the importance of human relationships through exhibiting how drastically Steve’s decisions can negatively affect his relationships with his family and friends. Many children await the day when they can be considered grown up. For them it represents a time where they possess more rights and privileges. However, for middle children which are between the ages of 7 through12 this time may seem more like a nightmare because it marks the time when they undergo physical and mental changes. These physical and mental changes have a major impact on their development. The subject in this scenario is a little boy named Mark who is being bullied at school by a group of older boys to the point that he has received bruises from the encounters. As a result, Mark dislikes going to school for the fear of being embarrassed or hurt and the looming threat of recurring bodily harm if he asks for help from the teachers. This situation has become so serious that Mark is barely eating and has withdrawn himself from his peers in efforts to avoid the boys who are bulling him. After examining the above scenario, this paper will explain Mark’s different issues based on signs of biosocial, cognitive and psychosocial development and discuss what should be done to help Mark succeed in his current situation based on research.

In my opinion, I feel like Sheriff Bell has a clearer view towards his destiny. Throughout the story I got to see how Sheriff Bell does things a bit “old school” and he knows that his way of doing things will eventually be outgrown. “The world is going to hell,” Sheriff Bell is ready to face the truth that drugs, rape, murder, and suicide will play a big toll in our countries future. Nonetheless, Bell’s well-aware his way of morality, ethics, and justice will change in the near future. Hands down, Sheriff Bell leaves everything in the hands of god to guide him in the right direction. Overall, Sheriff Bell will try his dearest to fight for what is right and wrong. “I think I’m goin to commence decicatin myself twice daily. It may come to three

The importance of Alexander Graham Bell on today’s society is visible, or rather audible, every day and everywhere. First and foremost, Alexander Graham Bell was a prolific teacher of the deaf. This is what he considered to be his true life’s work, but only one of the many important things he did. Through his research of speech and sound, and his creative mind, he would become one of the most influential inventors in modern history. His own definition of an inventor, “A man who looks upon the world and is not contented with things as they are. He wants to improve whatever he sees, he wants to benefit the world.” suits him well. Every thing that he did had an impact on someone.
