To the distinguished members of the Wilson Scholarship Fund,
First and foremost, I would like to sincerely thank you for selecting me as one of your 2015-2016 recipient of the Charles E. and Thomas E. Wilson Memorial Scholarship. It humbles me that an organization exterior to my daily life has recognized my continued academic and professional effort. At Dartmouth, I am a Junior pursuing my A.B. in the Engineering Sciences with a minor in government. I also intend to complete Thayer’s five-year B.E. program in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
As Charles Wilson was involved with General Motors, I too share a passion for automotive technology. Since my freshman year in 2013, I have been involved in Dartmouth Formula Racing (DFR),
Now, as a mechanical engineering senior at California State University, Los Angeles, my strong record of academics, leadership, aptitude for research, and passion
If I were to be accepted into the National Junior Honor Society, which is one of the highest honors that can be awarded, I would consider myself to be a very lucky person. Throughout my life, I've always considered myself as someone with good character and values.I've always prided myself in always doing the right thing and helping others. In addition, I view myself as a leader, not a follower. Being a leader comes naturally to me. I'm a leader amongst my friends and siblings. They always look up to me when they have a problem or when they need advice. I have a good standard education with an A average which will help me achieve my goals in the future.
I may not be the best candidate for the next member of the National Junior Honor Society, but I certainly believe I could be a great addition! Overall, I am a great learner, leader and student. I have not had any major discipline problems since kindergarten! I have always had top grades and have been top of my class at some point or another. I have good grades that I always maintain and standards that I never lower. My character is not the best but it certainly isn’t the worst. I try to help out in my school or community when possible but regrettably I have not given much of my time to my school or community. At the end of the day, I am a good student, friend, son and brother.
The National Junior Honor society, to me, represents the highest honor someone can achieve while in Middle School. Being accepted into such a prestigious society would not only give me an environment where I can improve my character, but it will also give me an experience which will help me gain a leadership position in the future. My intentions while in this society are to gain knowledge on what I can do to better my household as well as my community as a whole. While in this society I will work diligently to make positive changes to my community and school.
My exposure in the field of engineering can be traced back to my high school days. Not only did I take science classes such as physics, but I was also a member of two engineering clubs which taught numerous material outside the school’s curriculum. With that
Being able to have anything you could imaging on your own pair of sneakers would interest many people. Your shoes will be an eye catcher and stand out in a crowd. If all of your friends have the same pair of shoes, and you want yours to be just a little bit different, with my help, that can be made possible. Because I enjoy customizing shoes, and I will need to have knowledge to own a profitable business, I am going to go to Germanna Community College starting next year. After Germanna, I will transfer into JMU’s exceptional business program, where I plan to get a business degree.
National Junior Honor Society is a very prestigious program which I very much would like to be a part of. The core standards or leadership, citizenship, service, scholarship, and character are traits that I am proud to possess. I’ve worked hard to become the person I am now, and hard work is also the reason of how I have acquired the 5 standards of the National Junior Honor Society. Leadership is an important skill to have in life, and obtaining this skill will put you at an advantage to your peers or coworkers. I have been a leader my whole life; this has been shown both in school and in social situations.
I believe that I am a good candidate for the Amy L. McKee-Everett Memorial Scholarship due to my caring and loving nature. An excellent example would be the time I gave back to Flat Rock River YMCA Camp this year, during New Years Eve. I volunteered as a counselor to a group of amazing girls. I wanted to volunteer my time, seeing that Flat Rock had done so much for me, in my seven years as a camper. It was time to give back. The 53 hours of time I spent helping out with all the girls, was immensely rewarding. I wouldn't trade my experiences I have had with Flat Rock River YMCA Camp for the world. This experience made me a better person, and will carry over into my undergraduate years of college. I am going into my freshman year bearing skills
I intend to use this scholarship to help pay for my tuition and books at the Southern Arizona University of Phoenix- Online. I would like to be considered for this scholarship because I have no financial help from my family. This means that I have to be able to pay for college on my own because of the fact that my father is no longer in my life, and my mom has my other siblings to take care of. My father is no longer in my life because he now lives in Mexico with his other family. I don’t have financial help from him because he has a wife and six other children. My mother would like to be able to help me, but she has two other children she’s taking care of by herself, and she has to prepare for my sister's graduation next year as well as mine this year. I plan to get a job after I graduate to help pay for the expenses of college, but since I am going online the expenses of college are going to be a lot less than if I were to go on campus, this is the main reason I am planning to go online, and to take a lot of the stress of being totally alone off myself because I will only be twenty minutes away from my family instead of an hour or two.
It would truly be a fantastic honor to be awarded the Christopher A. Funt Memorial Scholarship. I plan to attend Alderson Broaddus University in the fall and this generous award would go a long way in helping me to pay for my tuition costs, books, housing costs, etc. I am very excited about furthering my education and investing myself into a brand new province of study, as I am striving to become the most well educated individual that I can possibly be. To be chosen from a pool of other outstanding South-Western athletes would be a wonderful privilege that I sincerely wish to be afforded.
(Thomas) Woodrow Wilson was born on December 28, 1856, in Staunton, Virginia. Woodrow was born to Joseph Ruggles Wilson and Janet Woodrow Wilson. Joseph was a Presbyterian minister. Woodrow was raised in the religion of Presbyterian because of his father. Most of Woodrow’s early schooling came from his father. He enrolled in Davidson College, North Carolina at the age of 17 in 1873. At the age of 19 he transferred to the College of New Jersey in 1875. That college later became known as Princeton University. That same year, Woodrow registered in the law school of the University of Virginia, but later dropped out because he was rejected by his cousin who he thought he was in love with. He temporarily opened up a law practice with a college in
My name in this physical form is Cyrus, I won't express the usual teen nonsense drama in this essay. I will express myself 100% whether you like it or not. At one point in my life I hit rock bottom dark as can be, but I changed. Now one of my ultimate lifetime goal is to better help humanity. One way of helping humanity is mastering myself or become a better spiritual being. Because I am apart of the human race. I am working on this by eating healthy(veganism), taking care of the earth, quitting drugs and drinking, meditation, fasting ,and mainly fixing the flaws I have within my soul. One day I would love to have a piece of land, open up my own Retreat where I can heal people of any kind of diseases, and help them to better their souls. This
Woodrow Wilson’s presidency was by many accounts one of the most successful in American history. Not only did his domestic affairs and reform policies give birth to the modern age of liberalism but his foreign policies would lead the United States to victory in World War I. This would in turn contribute to the United States involvement in world affairs.

A dyslexic, little boy, who couldn't read until the age of ten, became the president to lead America into World War 1. He was the first president to cross the Atlantic Ocean, and decided the date for mother's day. This little boy was Woodrow Wilson. Wilson was recognized for all that he did in trying to end the war that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1920. The twenty- eighth president of America, Woodrow Wilson, sought out to make the world a safer place for democracy.
