Windshield survey is short and simple community assessment. They involve the collection of data that will help define the community, the trends, stability and changes that will affect the health of the community (Stanlope and Lancaster, 2014) Windshield survey is conducted by driving around the community assessing for its various characteristics such as boundaries, population, housing, environment, public and health services and many more. This paper will reflect on finding of community assessment performed through windshield survey that took place around neighborhood of Smith K Elementary School on Tuesday, 2/16/2016 at 1300. Background Smith K Elementary School is located at 4802 Chrystell lane, Houston, TX, 77092. The school district for Smith K Elementary School is Houston Independent School District. The man made boundaries that surround the neighborhood are highway 290, Interstate 610, Langfield Road, TC Jester Blvd, Hempstead Road, Pinemoint Drive, and long point drive. There were small sub- streets around the neighborhood and they were Mitchell dale street, Milwell lane, Sherwood lane. The neighborhood approximate to the school were Oak forest, and Garden Oaks Housing Houses were poorly build around the community. The houses in the community seemed to be built very close to each other and consist of mostly single story homes. The homes surrounding the school
