This paper includes the findings of a windshield survey I completed of Heber, AZ as well as my overall impression of the survey, and personal biases that I need to consider.

The town I chose to do my windshield survey on was Jamestown, NC, 27282. I chose Jamestown because this is where I grew up and this is where my grandparents live. Performing this windshield survey will allow me to observe all the things the town of Jamestown have to offer and to see what barriers may exist for a community health nurse trying to work with the residents of Jamestown. In my opinion a windshield observation is one of the most important tasks that a community nurse has to perform since this will allow them to know what is available for their patients.

If an individual commits a gruesome murder of another and is caught, he will be brought before a jury of his peers who will decide his ultimate fate. If convicted of his crimes, the criminal could face the death penalty. Seemingly endless trials and appeals will plague the remaining life this criminal has. His days will be spent in solitary confinement, often with below-standard conditions and treatment. In the end, he will die a painful death, a final performance before an audience, before his curtain falls. When his last breath leaves his lips, the American judicial system can mark off another successful execution, attributed to the name of almighty justice. Something is wrong with this picture. In a society that claims to be advanced in methods of morality and humanity, capital punishment has no place. Capital punishment is the state-sponsored execution of an individual, serving as punishment and atonement for the crime the individual committed. I was never fond of the windshield wipers. The way the black arms would come to push away all the escaping water, cutting off the paths of the little droplets and flinging some away while shoving the rest back into the bottom of the window.
