They heard the wolves catch their scent. The breath of the hungry wolves filled the night as they creeped over the tree that covered the frightened men. “BANG!” coming from the distance an unknown gunshot scared the wolves off, giving a glimmer of hope for the trapped men. Hearing that the forest had settled the men decided that the coast was clear. “Help me try and push the tree off,” said Ulrich to Georg, and by some sort of miracle Ulrich was able to free himself. “Hold still I’ll find something to wipe your blood.” Ulrich ripped off part of his shirt using it as a rag to help clear up Georg’s eyesight. Do you think that they were the gunshot?” replied Ulrich. The two wondered of the outcome of their two parties, as they neared closer the position of the gunshot. Both men had lost their weapons when the tree had fallen on top of them. They were both defenseless in a part of the woods that was hardly ventured into. “Do you think that something terrible happened to our men?” questioned Ulrich. “You shouldn’t think like that they are strong capable men.” answered Georg. They continued on their journey staying quiet as they did not want to disturb their surroundings too much. A deer shot past them as if running from something. The two men got low hiding in the bristle of the forest. They waited for a while making sure nothing was near. Once it was determined that the coast was the clear they continued on their venture staying cautious. “What could have possibly have scared off a deer like that? It could be anything and it could be near” warned Georg. Ulrich cautioned to Georg to lower his voice and pointed into the nearby trees. There they were able to see a cabin outside of their area.
