Throughout history, women have fought a strenuous battle for equal rights. Many men, and even some women, all over the world believe that women do not share the same value and importance to society as men do. On September 5, 1995, Hillary Clinton spoke at the 4th World Conference on Women, on behalf of women all over the world. Clinton raised awareness on how women 's rights are being violated and why it is important to recognize women 's rights as equal to everyone else’s rights. Even today, in 2016, the words Clinton in 1995 spoke still impact the world. Hillary Clinton, a powerful, credible woman, touched the world by explaining the mental, and physical hardships that many women face every day, and how addressing this problem will impact the world. To begin, Clinton recognized the importance of women. The World Conference of Women is about acknowledging all the work that women do, why they are a key aspect to success in a nation (Clinton). She expressed that women play an important role in everyday life, “In the home, on the job, in the community, as mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, learners, workers, citizens, and leaders.” Women are the caretakers of the home and the family. They are the mothers of the next generation of leaders, doctors, and teachers. Women need to have health care and schools available to help their families thrive.
