For the resume I chose to include four positions in which I could elaborate in my cover letter. I chose to talk about my time interning at the William Tell Elementary School, because WonderLab is looking for someone who can teach and demonstrate. I believe that my experience at an elementary school, teaching and engaging with children, would be the best way to showcase these skills. Not only would this experience prove my capabilities to lead and teach, but it would also reveal self motivation to research and work efficiently. While I discussed my internship at the Perry County Circuit Courthouse, I included my ability to pay close attention to detail and have complete accuracy in my work. I chose to have this internship woven into my resume
The “Daisy” ad was a political ad that aired during the 1964 presidential race between Lyndon B. Johnson and Barry Goldwater. The “Daisy” ad was produced by Johnson’s campaign and showed a young girl in a field with a daisy and then a nuclear explosion. After airing only once, it was pulled off the air due to it being viewed as very controversial. This ad was the first that played on fear and never even mentioned Goldwater’s name. Although it was pulled off the air the ad experienced ad amplification as news stations produced multiple stories on it causing it to play repeatedly when they showed
As the internship program and the training intended, I have learned much related to my major, Criminal Justice. This internship helped me to acknowledge that qualified, knowledgeable professionals are needed by our complex society to define, administer, and put our rules and standards into force. Like jobs in any other field, to work in the field of law requires expertise. Trained experts are the most desirable to be hired by organizations, tasked to manage justice, to direct their operations. By writing articles for the legal website, I learned to assess law enforcement situations orderly. I learned to make use of the basic legal and management theories to analyze the situations. I got the opportunity to show my understanding of the key process in the U.S. criminal justice system. I also learned to combine approaches from management, law, and the behavioral science to apply them to the situations I was studying.
My experience includes employee training, technical assistance, and program assessment, design, development, and implementation. In addition to this experience, my responsibilities in current and previous positions include internship recruitment
For my internship, I served under the Allegheny County Health Department in Pittsburgh, PA. I served as the National Health Corps Member for the Women, Infants, and Children Program as their Care Coordinator for all nine offices. Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a supplemental nutrition agency that targets pregnant and postpartum women and young children ages 5 and under who are at risk of malnutrition. My supervisor Annie Nagy along with my mentors in the office made sure I was able to receive all of the materials and resources I would need to have a complete and successful internship.
My internship is at the Richland County Public Defender’s Office and I work directly with two juvenile defense attorneys. My office is at the Richland County Judicial Center. This position is very new and I am the second person to have this internship at USC, so defining my position is very complex. I do not have an on-site social work supervisor to turn to when I have questions, so, I have to figure out a lot of things on my own. Being that I work directly with the attorneys, a lot of things I see on the daily are on the legal side and not the social worker side per se. However, the attorneys involve me in the entire process when working with each client to provide a social work perspective to better help the clients and increase the quality of their services.
I have written formal bail reports from a handwritten report, filled out forms for illegal immigrants, open files into their program (PACTS) and follow up with defendant’s third party custodian to check if they have any problems or changes to report to the court. I have also learned that I am afraid of public speaking. I believe this internship will help me overcome it before it is over. To be in a Law Enforcement position, we have to have confidence and good oral skills to communicate with others. I definitely recommend this internship for Criminal Justice students who are interested to learn about the federal system and would like to get good connection for the future. I have expressed my interest to continue working with them after the internship is over. I believe students should know more about the Pretrial Services, and what it
There were two English groups that voyaged to the same destination, but yet they had various different rationales why they were traveling, however once reached their destination they had some of the same outcomes. This happened to the people of Jamestown and those of Plymouth Plantation. Both groups, traveled to the Americas, each with a designated leader with different characteristics, and once reached their destination they both encountered Native Americans. They both had a serious starvation period, however, the Puritans traveled for religious reasons, they wanted to be seen as the “City Upon a Hill.” The people guided by John Smith, on the other hand, wanted to gain money out of their stay in the Americas.
With my twenty years of experience in Early Childhood Education, I’ve collaborated with teachers in developing and implementing ideas to support student’s academic performance. I performed student’s academic assessments. I complied and maintained daily logs based on student's level of progression. In addition, I logged in financial statements, received inventory items and organized inventory for distribution of class materials needed for instruction. I’ve provided effective parental support with the families to develop and implement teaching techniques to enhance their child's growth development and knowledge of school readiness skills. My resume contains additional information on my experience and
During my senior year of college, I have had the pleasure of interning in the Chatham county district attorney’s office, specifically the office of victim witness assistance. I decided to intern here because I wanted to get a better understanding of the judicial system. I first wanted to intern in the district attorney’s office but after learning that the district attorney’s office only wanted to employ third year law students, my application was then given to Mrs. Haire in the victim-witness assistance office. I began my internship on January 9, 2017, I have worked here Monday through Thursday for sixteen hours a week.
During this day I was able to observe on how to make a report for the arrest at the county jail and what information had to go on the report. There had to a summary what had happened, the information from the detainee, and the affidavit report that goes to the judge. During this day I was also able to see what the procedures that the jailers have to follow are. First they get all of your information and your finger prints, and then they search you for anything that is not allowed after they confiscate everything that you had and they put them in a vacuum sealed package that is place in a secure place after that they give the detainees there jail apparel and take their picture. During this internship I was able to experience how well this deputies were well trained for their job and how much experience they had which could help me understand what the life experience of a deputy is like which could help me make a decision in what agency I would like to work for in the
under the guidance of Dr. Dawn Koetting. I was able to gain hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic and made several observations that have become deciding factors to my career choice. The overall experience that I had at the clinic was extraordinary. The staff was supportive and eager to teach me things about veterinary medicine and what was to come if I were to peruse this career. Dr. Koetting was especially helpful in advising me. She has given me several suggestions as to how to improve my resume for Vet School and the requirements that I need to meet to be accepted. I am very thankful that the staff at this clinic have allowed me to conduct this internship and am appreciative of all the guidance they have given me. I learned so much information in the time that I spent there, and all of it will help me in my future endeavors.
I specifically chose this internship experience because previously, I held internships at Flood Law, a defense law firm, and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and I figured this internship is a progression. I was definitely interested in exploring the different areas in law to figure out what it is that I wanted and did not want to do and this internship, by far has helped me do that. This internship experience has shaped my career ambitions, as I will further go into detail during the duration of this paper, by allowing me to be exposed to the different areas of law, which then made me decide on what I found to be interested in and areas I did not so much
I pulled out highlights, which included mentioning that I was the Senior Administrator, meaning I was a leader among the other administrators, and discussing the tasks I’ve had that highlight both my legal education and my administrative skills. The job description also preferred someone that had knowledge and experience of Westlaw and LexisNexis, two highly used search engines for law-related materials. Since I do have experience using both, I made sure to highlight that on my resume, as well as mention it in my cover letter. Before this, I did not list my experience with the search engines, so I learned the importance of having it on there for future reference. The job also wants individuals to be able to assist in preparing and reviewing legal documents. I highlighted this by discussing my internship, where I spent roughly 32 hours a week preparing legal documents, and reviewing legal standards, and mentioned how I tutor on campus. The qualifications discussed wanting someone with “strong proofreading and formatting skills” so I wanted to be sure I mentioned in my resume how I tutor both in my major, which reinforces I have remembered what I have learned over the years in my major and can apply it, and in English, which helps reinforce my skills in proofreading, and my general writing skills overall. Overall, after researching the company’s values, and comparing that to the job description I was applying for, I was able to better tailor my resume and cover letter to help me stand out as a
In order to understand a group of people then you have to learn about the world. If there isn't an education about different cultures and ethnic groups then the only way to learn about them is through our own experiences with them. Due to past events there are many misconceptions about the world today and the people living in this world. There are also many negative stereotypes affecting people who are from the middle east. All that it means to be Arab is to be of a Semitic people inhabiting Arabia and other countries of the Middle East. Our worldview is limited today due to a deficit in education, stigma about educating oneself concerning Arabs or muslims, our fear of offending other cultures, and also an unwillingness to learn and put away
It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I am learning some important skills and finding out some things about myself and the tough skin I will need in order to stay in the area of juvenile support.
