Woody Point Festival Case Analysis
Introduction With its inception in 2004, the Writers at Woody Point Festival have become an ever increasingly popular annual literature festival for Newfoundland’s west coast. The festival has grown each year and has now reached the point where council believes a formal marketing strategy and plan is necessary for the festivals short and long term economic sustainability in the ever-increasingly competitive literature festival market. To create the marketing strategy for the festival, analysis will include looking at the events strengths and weaknesses, as well as its opportunities and threats in its external environment. Viable options will then be considered that will dismiss managements

The festival which already receives funding from major companies, can seek out new music focused company sponsorship's that will provide aid for the costs of the concerts. The last opportunity for the festival includes the role it can provide in educating the local youth about local cultural music, theater, and arts. Many may grow up to have a strong appreciation towards their own communities’ festival. Threats for the festival should raise concern as they can affect future outlook and growth potential. An immediate threat is the competing reading festivals in the area and country during the summer months of July and August. These other festivals can greatly affect numbers for the Writers at Woody Point Festival as potential customers may choose to attend, and spend money travelling to these other venues throughout the year and summer months. Another threat is the uncertainty of having to rent out the Woody Point Heritage Theatre each year. A competing festival or event could rent or even buy the theatre therefore taking away the venue of the festival, or charge a ridiculous amount to rent. The relative age of returning customers may also pose potential threat for festival organizers as they target younger crowds with music concerts, they may give grief and thus upsetting the customers there for the book readings, which is the festivals primary source of revenue. The analysis above has made it apparent that the festival has/ need of; outgrown its
The community festival is a nonprofit organization that has a tax exempt status as well as a history of over 20 years. The organization and the event are run by a board of directors and a small, permanent staff composed of no more than five employees at any given time. The goal of the festival is to promote local arts and crafts and to support local artists by providing a venue through which they can sell their work, advertise their work, and develop and expand their customer base. Because the festival has been held for many years, it is well-known in the
Have you seen those weird music festival T-shirts that people wear and wonder what someone could possibly want to wear that for? While they’re sometimes meant to catch attention of people so they may want to look up the festival, it also serves as a reminder for many amazing memories for the two or three-day event. For a long time now music has changed people’s lives in many ways. It has brought people to fame and lifted many out of depressions. But, to those who haven’t experienced a festival, or even live music in general, you have been missing out an amazing social experience like no other. From the kings of festivals like Woodstock or Coachella to the lesser known ones like Rock on the Range (Hard rock/metal based) and Day for Night (variety) there are hundreds to pick from. One of my favorites is Carolina Rebellion which takes place right in this state.
The third viable alternative for the festival is to use the market penetration strategy. It has been observed that a lot of people have been unable to attend the festival because of out-of-reach places and scarcity of tickets. Thus, if the
Following meetings with the Festival and Event Liaison Officer (FELO) at Brisbane City Council and Major Events Unit at Queensland Police Service it is agreed that for safety reasons the event site will be fenced. Ongoing discussions are occurring to seek some in-kind support for this. Backstage area will also be fenced for security.
Since its first event in 2004 the Woody Point Festival has offered authors and fans an opportunity to fully experience the art of the written word. Daily attendance to the festival has been estimated at 150 to 200 visitors. The festival draws in visitors from the local area, provincial area, and out-of province tourism.
On Friday, July 10th, I chose virtually to attend an online YouTube Symphony Orchestra Concert-2011. Many beautiful pieces were performed by a magnificent orchestra that included more than sixty participants and consisted of instruments such as: flutes, oboes, horn, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, percussions and strings. Concert’s selections varied in length, temperament, mood and dynamics. Orchestra Symphony gave an overpowering, extraordinary presentation and delivery.
This really makes the people at the community find the sense of pride and ownership and encourages local people to participate at the festivals not only as audiences but also as volunteers or staffs. For example, some venues for the festival are churches located at downtown, and local people are familiar with those places; therefore, they have the sense of ownership when they work at that venue and they will have great passions, which will lead to the success of the festival too. Also, those local citizens are stakeholders to the organization. For the Lotus Blossoms event, which is a program that helps children to get involved into the arts, the parents and schoolteachers can be the stakeholders and schools can develop a partnership with the organization. The musicians make up another big part of stakeholders, and some of them keep coming back each year, which indicates that there is a strong partnership between Lotus and those great artists. Those sponsors keep supporting Lotus is another major part of stakeholders. Without those stakeholders’ contributions, it is hard to make a festival or events come true. Maintaining good partnership with them and listen to their advices and suggestions is one of the key to keep the organization fresh and

I’m in love with music because it always seems to make my day go by better. Rap, recitals, jazz and classical concerts top in my music preferred list. My passion for music made me very excited about going the Columbus state musical concert held in the River Center of Performing Arts In the Legacy Room. The theatre is located in a nice location giving the audience a full range of sound and sight. The sounds are incredible and I really loved how I could hear everything. The stage can be seen from any place that one decides to stand on. For this particular concert, the venue was dimly lit. The concert staged was adorned by different musicians, with their amazing performances.. The audience could not help, but dance and sing along with the
For this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. It was impressive to hear pieces composed by students. I cannot imagine creating something as complex as a musical composition, much less actually performing it, so this aspect of the concert was particularly awe-inspiring. There was a large attendance, and I think that much of the audience consisted of friends of the composers and/or performers. I went with three friends, who I convinced by telling it would be interesting to see
The Music Festival is going to be held in the countryside of Victoria during the Australia Day weekend in 2016. The local accommodation is limited, which means many extra units or little tents will be prepared and provided to address this
Initial Preview: Throughout this speech you will learn about the birth and development of the modern music festival, how they have transformed, and why they have.
On Thursday April 25, 2013 , I attended a jazz vocal concert at the Music Concert Hall. The first vocal ensemble opened up the performance with a slow rhythmic song called Blue Skies. It began with vocals and I noticed a light auxiliary percussion and drum rhythm. Also, the bass guitarist used walking bass and the piano and electric guitar joined in as well. The first song also consisted of two soloist Regina and Chantel who took the front stage to show off their chops. After the solo performances they fell back into the vocal sections and finished off the song as a complete band. The second performance had a piano opening which led to vocals joining in at the same time as the rhythm section. This performance
