What is a group? A collection of individuals who have regular contact and frequent interaction, mutual influence, common feeling of camaraderie, and who work together to achieve a common set of goals. Did you set the record as a group? No, we did not. We had so many issues and problems within our group, that i just wanted to quit working altogether.
My group consisted of Bailee Wallace,Adrian Watkins, Jermecia Edwards, and myself. My group members kind of fulfilled their duties as a whole, but as individuals not so well. Two certain group members were either slacking on the work, not contributing at all, or having attitudes.Bailee did what she felt was necessary to do to make our group assignments seem and feel worthwhile.I proofread everything and attempted to get the other members to help us out a little bit more. Most of all Bailee and I did most of the work. One of our group members had an attitude during this whole project and we even had an altercation because of this particular problem. The other was sick, but still knew that he or she had responsibilities to take care of. He got his work turned in right on time. The other did not want to deal with me.

If we did most of the work and made a one hundred, everyone in our group, regardless of who helped or not, would all get that same grade. I would like to work on another project like this, but i would like to pick and choose my own group members. These particular reasons are why people, in general, like to work alone on group assignments.I feel that my instructor should just know that it was an altercation is my group dealing with attitudes and other group members contributing and the participation. Overall, I personally would give this group project an A for effort, but individually only two people deserve the credit and that is Bailee and
I have done things in a group that I would most certainly not do alone. The result were never good, even when I was never reprimanded I was left with a feeling of quilt and remorse. Two thing I think can help me the most in the future is to seek an outside opinion that doesn’t have the same group mentality and also they have an impartial leader whom can see the fact and not
In this group project, I had a major role in ensuring that it came together in a unified way. Generally, I usually take a leadership role in group projects so I was the central person coordinating group meetings and ensuring sufficient communication. To begin the project, we divided up the work by assigning people to work on the case study, find literature, summarize the textbook, and talk to key informants. My assigned part was to summarize the textbook, which also ended up lending itself to finding some additional sources to build on what the textbook was lacking. In regard to the group literature and informant summary, I ended up writing most
I believe our group work is going well. We haven’t had many meetings concerning bringing all the work together, but people have been working had individually as noted in the annotated bibliography. One complaint is that in the agreement we said that the annotated bibliography would be completed by the Sunday before the due date, when in actuality two members did not add their work to the group until the day the assignment was due. However, this is minor in the larger scheme since it was completed and submitted on time. We have made plans to come together next week to work on the project together and how and where everyone’s contribution will be placed. Overall I don’t have much to complain about as communication and work ethic are good. I
During my college life on campus in my major, I normally get a lot of group assignment to complete. In my second semester, I have been engaged with some hard working group members who willing to achieve their goals. In this case, all of us were on the same pace to complete the assignment and get it done on time to the best of our ability. In my communication class called editing and film, One of the projects was to film some athletes performing and write an article about the sport. There were five members in my group and we all work together and each individual gets a sign task to do and complete it without an issue. We get one week to perform the task and the follow Monday we would have to present it to the class, we have complete the work on time because we all work hard together as a team to get the job done
My role in the project was make sure all our ideas followed within the guidelines of the instructions. I would occasionally throw an idea out to my peers, but with an introverted group I usually wouldn't get much feedback. As the project came to expiration I learned that even though sometimes being in a group makes the work load lighter it can also occasionally make the work harder since it's more difficult to mold multiple individuals preconceptions into one
Group work has been a cornerstone of the social work profession and requires a variety of facilitator skills and awareness of group processes. The SSLDTM Group Program for People with Difficulties in Social Situations (Socialwork1914, 2017) provides an excellent example of a psycho-educational group co-facilitated by two female social workers, Jane and Karen. After viewing the 6th session of this 8-week program, I began to understand how the concepts of group formation/development, interpersonal dynamics, and leadership styles contribute to successful group work outcomes.
As a student of Santa Ana College, I have recently had the privilege to work on a group project. Our group assignment based upon making a postcard for our school. In which this highlights the importance of one of the facilities that Santa Ana College provides for the students. As a group, we choose the Child Care Center as our topic for the postcard. As I worked in the group, I felt respected and valued. I felt that my group volunteered and contributed equally. We decided that two of us would work on the postcard and the other two would work on the essay. As we continued with our project, we divided the work evenly in order to finish on time. My group and I had different tasks in order, and we worked together afterschool
I always thought that working in groups meant one or two people doing all the work and the rest just goofing off. But in our group each individual had a specific task that they had to perform to make sure the group assignment got done. The group consisted of 9 people who are as followed; Christian Clark, Reilyenne Nahulu, Michel Rivera, Hunter Salavea-Timoteo, Kashalynn Vergara, Paola Guadalupe Gonzalez, Kobee Ledward, Bryje Ahia, and Jeremie Saludares. The analysis covers the importance of an interesting topic, preparation needed, roles I played, things that went well in our group, could've done better, and the two important things about group communication.
I did not like the fact that my grade relied on other people. On the other hand, I had some control over that by telling them how I felt about what was going on. None of my group members was a total slacker. Although, I did not know my group members personally, so I was not sure whether or not they would take responsibility and complete what was assigned to them. They all pulled through and we achieved our goal of completing the assignment. We each worked
In my small group for the film project analysis project I worked with four other students, Deonte, Frank, Osama, and Stephen. The specific purpose that we came together for was to analyse the film, Oz, The Great and Powerful and identify the different properties of communication in the film and how they were used. We held our group meetings after class three times and once before class. Our group had no clear leader, and instead each member was self-directed, and instead our group came to a general consensus at each meeting as to how tasks should be divided and what should be done before the next meeting. While there were significant setbacks to our group’s progress, aside from one anomaly our group worked well together and had only one major conflict.
First, we worked together fairly well as each person chose the right job for themselves. Our strengths were building and gluing, and our weakness was spending way too much money. Each one of my group members took pride in their job and did it accordingly because of their efficiency I never had to put an X on their checklist. My evaluation of each co-worker is Ian did very well with delivering forms, Ava did extremely well by planning the bridge, Kiera was amazing with glue and helped us a bunch in sticking the toothpicks together. I think I did fairly well as a project director and as an accountant as I was able to fill out all journal entries finish the checklist and be able to make sure order forms were correct. As a co-worker,
I have participated in a project that failed. I have been involved in group projects numerous times since 5th grade; this project was my first and last failures. For different reasons, I disliked group projects because there are one or more who do not participate but when it’s time to present the assignment, they act as if they contributed. In the other hand, I have also participated in a group I enjoyed working with from the beginning to the end. A long time ago, I participated in a group project in 8th grade. Our teacher divided my classmates and me into groups. The assignment was to read a novel, write a research paper, and present by using visual presentation tools. My group and I, we were assigned to read “Lord of the Flies.” I could
I am Zeeshan Ali; I am working as a Computer teacher for Classes VI-X-M in Canal Side Boys Campus. I have done Masters in Computer Science (MCS) from Punjab University College of Information and Technology (PUCIT) Lahore. The students are the main focus of every teacher and our entire teaching efforts circle round our students to achieve the set targets. Effective Teaching includes many useful teaching strategies that a teacher chooses according to the requirement of his/her respective subject and topic as well. In result of my years of experience and as a Computer teacher I find Group Work as the most effective and fruitful technique at every level.
Working in a group can be very difficult at times. Different people with different views may not always agree which one another. Throughout the various task I played the communicator. I made sure everyone was on track on what we wanted to do. I also made sure people was okay and happy in the role they was playing in the group. My group worked together in collecting ideas from one another and making it into one.
3. As a group Sophia, Cassy, and I worked very well together. We all completed our jobs and didn't miss any assignments. I always did my job and eagerly participated in the group discussions. However, I did occasionally get distracted talking to members of other groups. Sophia was always prepared for class and she greatly contributed to the group discussion and comprehended all of the stories very well. She helped organize the group, but sometimes she would get overly upset with me for little reasons. Cassy did not contribute to the group as much as Sophia and I did, but she made up for this with the effort she put into her work. She tried her hardest to do all of the proper assignments and did a good job. Towards the end of the group, she
