As an employee of one of the largest private universities in the world, it’s extremely important for us to be professional at all times. The University of Phoenix (UOPX) is one of the largest private universities in the world with over 400,000 students currently attending. UOPX strives for excellences in maintaining our commitment to educating our community. UOPX is a unique organization because; we provide opportunities to individuals that are experts in organizational policies, conflict management, and how communication flows. It was in this historical context in 1976, that Dr. John Sperling, a Cambridge-educated economist and professor-turned-entrepreneur, founded University of Phoenix. Who were accustomed to physically able to visit the learning center and discuss their concerns regarding their own academic account and financial aid. Additionally, Apollo handles conflict management quit well, especially a healthy conflict. Apollo does not expect for everyone to agree on all terms and conditions, however, it’s important to respect other individuals concerns. At time many employees agree to disagree, this is a natural and normal process for our organization. As long as the conflict is managed properly, and individuals are not disrespecting one another we can managed our conflict and disagreements well. For examples, for many years academic affairs and enrollment have been feuding in regards to UOPX students. Both departments are pointing the finger on who is responsible for preparing the students for the first night of class. Academic affair argument was that the students did not attend class prepared with their first night homework assignment completed. The faculty member would contact the learning center manager with concerns about the students not fully being prepared with their assignments. The enrollment department argument was that the faculty members gave ‘F’ grades to 9 of 13 students in class, which was 70% of the class, failed their first course. The enrollment department believes that they work really hard at encouraging the non-traditional students for school as much as they can. Ultimately, the final decision is up to the
