Safety in a workplace also describes policies and procedures in place to ensure the safety and health of employees within a workplace which involves hazard identification and control according to government standards and ongoing safety training and education for employees. Safety training is a federal law that oversees the requirement of an employer to provide employees with a workplace free from hazardous conditions. Employees must be responsible to ensure they are taking all the precautions to protect themselves and their fellow workers. Safety training is a major concern in today’s workplace for both employers and employees in which action have been taken to overcome this problem. This research of workplace safety training was conducted by the following: using internet to browse different safety training websites, books, magazines, and library, also a personal interview. This information will give us a clear understanding of why safety training is important in a workplace and to ensure safety is being followed. Discussion of findings Workplace injury statistics This research will indicate the statistics of injuries in the workplace by showing how blue collar jobs have more injuries than white collar workers, injuries between men and women.
