WORLD WAR 2 The most murderous war in history, the Second World War consumed the globe from 1939 to 1945. World war 2 was fought for the most part in Europe and across the Pacific and eastern Asia, and pitted the Axis powers of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Japan against the Allied nations of Great Britain, France, China, the United States, and Soviet Union. While the Axis enjoyed early success, they were gradually beaten back, with both Italy and Germany falling to Allied troops.
THE NAZIS STRIKE
On May 30,1940 the allied was and are trying to evacuate their troops to Britain. The German Nazis have started to let airstrikes rain on the beaches. They Germans have surrounded Dunkirk. The allied are running out of ammunition and time. Word has come in that Air-forces for the Allied are dropping one by one. The defense lines have been setup up but may are to believe it will not be able to hold the fire of the German Aircrafts. Many have been injured, captured, and even killed. 40% have been evacuated and the hopes are that to withstand the Nazis until backup comes with more ammunition and ships. We ask you to pray for those who have risked and served their lives for their country. Information and resource from

Eight U.S Navy battleships were damaged and four battleships sunk. This is a big tragedy for all Americans as for 2,403 Americans were found dead and 1,178 were injured. A lot of precedents were made as of why Japan did this attack. President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed, "a date which will live in infamy". This whole disastrous event led America's reconsidering entering World War 2. My resource and knowledge came from
On December 7th of 1941, the Japanese Navy Air Service bombed Pearl Harbour. In the morning of the attack, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked Pearl Harbour in Hawaii, this is where America’s naval base was located. The attack was devastating, not only did the Japanese manage to demolish more than 300 air crafts and almost 20 American naval vessels, but it also killed more than 2,000 US soldiers (another 1,000 were wounded). The day following this tragic attack, the President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt had been approved by Congress to declare war on Japan; finally, two years after the war had began, America had joined. This is known as one of, if not the most, significant causes of the US bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
World War 2 was a notorious war fought between the Axis and Allied nations, during the period of 1939 to 1945. The Axis nations mainly included Germany, Japan and Italy, while the Allied nations were led by the United States of America (USA), the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and Britain (Source D). The war was kindled after a Nazi German invasion of Poland in 1939, which resulted in Britain and France declaring war on Germany. As Germany was determined to carry on their invasions, their allies (the Axis nations) and Britain’s allies (the Allied nations) and colonies were dragged into the war, causing it to become a major world war.
Introduction The Second World War had been fought between the Axis nations (Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Imperial Japan and their smaller allies) and the Allied nations, led by Britain (and its Commonwealth nations), the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the United States of America (Source D). The war changed many things internationally. This included changes to do with technology and the end of European colonialism (Source D).
World War II involved almost every part of the world, during the years 1939 through 1945. The Axis Powers, Germany, Italy, and Japan against the Allied Powers, the United States, the Soviet Union, France, Great Britain, and to an extent China. The war was over unsettled disputes from World War I. World War
This act of aggression from Japan mad America write a declaration of War against Japan and fellow allied countries (not ours). The Japanese called it the Hawaii Operation and was a strike against our naval fleet interfering with Japanese military actions. The attack happened early at 7:48 am when 353 Japanese fighter plane, bombers, and torpedo planes came in waves. The Japanese also sent six aircraft carriers and during their operation they damaged all of our Naval battleships, four actually sunk but six were put back into service. The USS Arizona was later raised and is still used and is in service today. They damaged three of our cruisers, and three destroyers, along with an anti aircraft training ship, and one minelayer. Many civilians were killed and many important military and civilian buildings. Franklin D. Roosevelt says that this action was a “a date which will live in infamy”. This is what made the US who at all cost wanted nothing to do with the World War and Japan's actions paid the ultimate

On December 7, 1941, the U.S was attacked at pearl harbor by the Japanese. During that morning 350 planes attacked the base making sure most of it was destroyed. There were not many eyewitnesses due to the surprise attack the Japanese conducted. There were 2,400 deaths that day, and almost all the base’s ships were destroyed. A memorial was built after the men and women that died that day. The devastation caused America to enter war against japan. America also had to begin rebuilding their naval fleet so the pacific would be defended. All the damaged Ships were placed back into battle after they were repaired. War had been declared against America, leaving the country with not many options to take.
The battle for racial equality started to make headway during World War II leading to the question of this investigation: What was the impact of black segregation in the United States military during World War II? World War II, according to historian Stephen Ambrose was “The world’s greatest democracy fought the world’s greatest racist with a segregated army” (Ambrose Citizen Soldier) This quote from Ambrose accurately describes the situation that African Americans were facing during World War II, however, despite public outcry, they proved their worths through combat such as the Tuskegee Airmen or serving in vital support roles in the military. Their role in the war also provided a stage
On December 7th 1941 Japanese forces launched a sneak attack on a U.S. naval base. Hundreds were killed and of the 8 ships on station only 3 were not destroyed and even those were badly damaged(Naval History And Heritage Command). This attack was not only bad for America's military, but her people as well. This raid was a defining moment in history, it had a profound affect on America and her people. Pearl Harbor was one of the worst days in America which led President Franklin D. Roosevelt to proclaim December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy". (Wikipedia) The attack on Pearl Harbor left “Ninety minutes after it began, the attack was over. 2,008 sailors were killed and 710 others wounded; 218 soldiers and airmen (who were part of the Army until the independent U.S. Air Force was formed in 1947) were killed and 364 wounded; 109 marines were killed and 69 wounded; and 68 civilians were killed and 35 wounded. In total, 2,403 Americans died and 1,178 were wounded” (Wikipedia) This attack by Japan led the United States into the war but also a bigger war with Japan which
The first attack against the U.S. done by the Japanese was the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor just before 8 a.m., it was devastating. The Japanese fighter planes destroyed around 20 naval ships and eight of them were some of the United State’s biggest battleships. The Japanese didn’t just destroy vessels, they also managed to destroy around 300 airplanes. The amount of American soldier’s lives lost was heart-rending, there were over 2,000 Soldiers and Sailors lost from the American fleet. There were also more than 1,000 wounded or critically injured on that horrifying day. The day of the Pearl Harbor attacks became known as “a date which will live in infamy”, and this day was only the beginning. This was only the midpoint of Japan’s attacks, the second half was the Bataan Death March.
“A day that will live in infamy” or more widely known as Pearl Harbor occurred on December 7th, 1941. The Japanese had attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, which is near Oahu. “The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded.” This caused the US to enter WWII, as well as caused a fear on the West coast of the US because of the dense population of Japanese Americans that are found there. The status regarding Japanese-Americans was changed rapidly after this event and they were thought to want to cause harm to the US because we declared war against the axis powers, which included Japan for revenge for Pearl Harbor.
It was said that World War I would be the war to end all wars; unfortunately U.S. President Woodrow Wilson was wrong. In 1939 Germany invaded Poland and the global conflict, World War II, began. Fought from 1939 to 1945, World War II consisted of the Allied Powers and the Axis Powers. The Axis Powers were led by Germany, Japan, and Italy. The Allied Powers were led by the United States, Britain, France, and several other countries. In total, over sixty million people were killed, making World War II the deadliest conflict in modern history. The intervention of the United States after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 brought the end of the war 4 years later.
World War II was fought between two main opposing forces, the Allies and the Axis forces. The Axis powers consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan being the most dominant. On the other hand, some of the countries in the Allied powers were Great Britain, the United States, France, Australia, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, Canada, and Greece.
World War II is the name commonly given to the global conflict of 1939-1945. It is said to be the greatest and most destructive war in world history. The World War II military operations were conducted primarily in Europe but also in Asia, Africa, and the far islands of the Pacific as well. More than 17 million members of the armed forces perished during the conflict. It caused strain on the economic capabilities of the major nations and left many countries on the edge of collapse.
