Have you ever wondered if texting and walking is dangerous? The text “ Would You Ban Texting and walking? ” by Kristin Lewis, describes how many teens got injured by using their phones while walking. She also writes about many different examples of how it was unsafe, as well as, how it is common sense to known when you should or should not use your phone. I think texting and walking should be banned because it will save a lot of lives in the future. In page 10, at the end of paragraph 3, the author states “Between 2000 and 2011, distracted walking led to more than 11,000 injuries.in the U.S.” This means that people have been distracted by their phones while walking. And this led to to these people getting hurt because they were never aware from their surroundings and distracted with their heads down, looking at their phones the entire time. Texting and walking should definitely be banned because serious injury may occur. On page 10 it states, “In 2012, a 15-year-old on her phone was on her phone and was hit by a car and killed.” That incident showed people should really be more careful doing anything involving multitasking. In the text of the Scholastic Scope magazine in “Would you Ban Texting and walking?” it states, “In 2014, a 14-year old was seriously injured after stepping off a bridge while on his phone.” This quote explains that being on your phone while walking distracts teenagers and make them get hurt if they don’t pay attention of what they are doing. Those who disagree may say that walking with a phone is safe because it helps us get to where we are, or even say it is common sense when or when not to use your phone. In fact unless a law is passed teenagers will probably still use their phones. So walking with phones should be banned because many people get
Daoism is one of the main philosophical traditions in China and the East. Daoism uses nature as a guide to understand the way to live and by using common themes like the Yin and Yang and The ‘One’ or better known as the child, the Daoist Sage reflects a harmonised way of living. These two themes from chapters stated above help identify the meaning of Daoism, and what this way of living reflects.

Passing a law against walking and texting is unnecessary, most people think that laws should not ban something that is common sense. From the article “Would You Ban Texting and Walking”, some examples that shows laws doesn’t don’t change anything. In the column “Common Sense” paragraph 10, it states “Wearing a seatbelt is common sense too----but until laws were passed mandating that people wear seat belts, many didn’t buck it up.” Also, some people who are walking and texting could be aware of their surroundings, or people that have important
The second reason of why texting while driving should be made illegal is that it is as dangerous, or even more dangerous than driving under the influence of alcohol. In a research study it has been proven that even with a hands-free device, talking on a phone can impair driving skills more than driving under the influence of alcohol does (Saletan 3) because when under the influence the driver does not lose sight from the road and constantly knows what is going on around him, even though his judgment has been impaired and his reaction time has been slowed down. In contrast, texting while driving makes you lose sight from the road which makes the drivers reaction time much longer than someone driving under the influence and can make him end up in a very bad accident.
According to Kristeva’s theory, Ursula, the protagonist of life after life, as well as her aunt Izzie, and Voila in A God in Ruins are speaking subjects that are comprised of two contradictory elements – semiotic and symbolic. Izzie and next during the story Ursula have a fault in their teens years and Viola lose her mother with a very bad misunderstanding about her father, so these events complete their thetic break with their maternal bodies and enter them into a symbolic stage, they needs an imaginary father to be the substitution for their mother’s role. Consequently, for Aunt Izzie, she attempts to find this imaginary father in the art of writing, and in her nephew Teddy. Therefore, writing different stories and plays in the symbolic stage
Would you believe that anyone would make a law about no texting while walking? Crazy right? Well people are trying to argue about enforcing a law to prevent texting while walking! So let’s get started on why not to make this law. To start, Distracted walking has become a serious and dangerous problem in the United States. Moreover, In the middle of this issue, texting and driving has risen to the point where where people don 't like to see it, but still allow it to be in their presence. After all of these years of texting, people should feel like as a country there should be a point where it is almost forbidden to do so. To think about It, I don 't think ever when purchasing a cell phone I had my wireless provider representative mention anything about the hazards of texting and
Cell phones have become an essential part of many peoples’ lives as they are one of the main sources of communication. People are able to complete many tasks using their phones, such as making phone calls, sending and receiving e-mails, text messaging, and even snapping photos. Cell phones are not only beneficial, but they are impactful in many ways. As many positive uses there are for cell phones, cell phone usage can be undoubtedly precarious while driving. Cell phone usage while driving is many times done irresponsibly and can put the driver at risk of getting injured. In addition to the driver getting injured, innocent pedestrians could also potentially lose their lives or be crippled due to a texting person who was driving at the same time. According to The Federal Communications Commission, “over 8 people are killed and approximately 1,161 are injured daily in incidents reported as distraction-affected crashes in the United States.” Texting while driving has become the number one distraction of drivers and main cause of car crashes. These crashes could result in hundreds of thousands of people either losing their lives or experiencing life-changing injuries. Although cell phone usage is an effective way to communicate with others and to complete certain tasks, it has become problematic for drivers in recent years as it increased the risk of injury and death while driving. For these reasons, texting while driving should be illegal and punishable by law.
Many accidents are blamed on distracted driving and most of the distractions are caused by cell phone usage. However, some opponents feel that creating a law against cell phone use infringes their personal rights. Others think that banning someone from using their cell phones is equivalent to telling someone that they can't adjust their radio or chat with someone else in their car. However, using a cell phone, whether talking or texting, while driving can be extremely dangerous; it should be made illegal because it is very hazardous to yourself and the people surrounding you, can lead to the death of loved ones, and it is even compared to the danger level of drunk driving. No matter what age the driver is, under no

However, some opponents feel that creating a law against cell phone use infringes their personal rights. Other people assume that prohibiting from someone from using their cell phone is the same thing in just like telling someone that they can't adjust their radio or chat with someone else in the car. People who text and drive can hit or even kill pedestrians because of being distracted by their phones and not paying attention to the road. In the course of five years, the national number of pedestrians who were killed or hit by distracted drivers increased from 344 to 500 people. If you think about it, many of those people who died could have been young children or elderly people who didn’t have a fault, but because of someone being so inconsiderate using their phone, they killed these people. In 2015, 5,376 pedestrians were killed because of drivers who were too busy texting. All those pedestrians who were killed did not think that because of walking somewhere they would be killed by someone so distracted who didn’t have the capacity to make sure that the road was clear for them to keep driving. If this problem had further consequences, then many of the people who died wouldn’t be dead right now.
One problem with cell phones in today’s society is that they have become major distractions. Cell phones are distracting employees in the workplace and are leaving them with their jobs halfway done. Everywhere in the business industries, the employees are hard at work re-tweeting and catching up on the latest newsfeed rather than managing their time more wisely. Not only are cell phones a distraction in the workplace, they are also a distraction and disruptive in school districts, causing students’ attention to be elsewhere. Many students would rather text in the middle of class instead of pay attention to what the teacher is reviewing. In this case, students do not gain the amount of education provided for them. In addition to cell phones being distracting, people often like to multi-task by walking or driving while texting. These things cause them to be unaware of their surroundings. Texting while driving has become a major issue because texting and driving can lead to car crashes which are often fatal. On the other hand, texting and walking isn’t too bad, but can cause a little bit of embarrassment. There are stories of people walking into walls and bumping into people or tripping over a table because their nose seems to be stuck in their phone. To some, being on their cell phone is more important than grades, clients, and others around them.
Did you know that one time a person walked off a bridge just because they were on their phone? In fact, many people have gotten hurt while using their phone while walking. People should not be able to walk and use their phone because many people get hurt every year from it and people can’t multitask. People should not be able to walk and use their phone, because every year many people get hurt by it.
As technology advances, people become notorious for using their electronics in inappropriate situations. Teenagers in present day commonly text at the dinner table, while crossing a street, and even while driving. Not only do teenagers text, their parents do, as well. Texting is a frequent fad among the young adults, it also a convenient method for parents to keep in contact with their children. People nowadays have to be in contact with friends and family at every moment of the day especially while driving it is the equivalent of driving under the influence, using hand-held devices (like Bluetooth) will decrease the number of accidents caused by phones, and studies show texting reduces a persons reaction time.
Lastly, cell phone use while driving should be banned because it can become dangerous for oneself as well as others on the road. Not only does cell phone use for drivers endanger other people, it endangers the life of the operator itself. Drivers can run off the road into trees, ditches, or poles; they may also run into other cars or drift into oncoming traffic. Using a cell phone while driving also puts other drivers on the road in danger; if a driver is texting, their eyes are on their phone and they may not see the car in front of them stopping, which will lead into a wreck that could injury someone.
