Best sport
I think the best sport is wrestling. Even though It's probably the least fun sport in the world. I think it's the best sport because it's a great example of a team that is a brotherhood. It's the best sport because it is an individual sport and the person controls whether he wins or loses and there's nothing to blame losses on but oneself. It's the best sport because if the wrestler wants to achieve big things like being a state champ there is a lot of work by oneself and there's no one but you to push you. wrestling is the best sport because it is a great example of a team that is a brotherhood, because it's an individual sport, and because it shows you what hard work really is.
Wresting is the best sport because it's an example of a team that is a brotherhood. Wrestling teams aren't close like teams that are on the field together because only one person can be on the mat at

Wrestling shows you what hard work is because you have long practices that last two to three hours, and you really don't want to be there but you have to work hard because you remember what your goals are. All of the weight cutting, long practices, days with no food, drilling after practice, dieting all week for only one day on the weekend and for what to get a little medal? It seems crazy to me but all of those days lead up to the big stage which is the state tournament and that's where you get to see if all the hard work you've put in is going to pay off of not. For some it's the greatest day of the year, for others they leave heart broken. Plus it sucks to think that the guy you could face in the state has worked harder than you. My coach told me that if you work hard enough everyday it will be hard to quit when the time comes for you to wrestle for a state title. I think wrestling is a true example of hard
In the first 20 seconds of the match, I had the first take-down. I was working crossfaces, cheap tilts, and everything else I knew after my takedown. Then, I did what I do best and gave him a swift, hard crossface and cradeled him up. Squeezing with all my strength and might it took about 7 seconds of him being on his back and he was pinned! It took a total of 55 seconds to pin my first opponent at state.
Wrestling is one of the oldest sports, and it has a lot of historical background. Wrestling was established in the 15th and 16th century, but it was not a competitive sport at the time. There have been cave drawings of wrestling found from 3000 B.C., which shows that either the sport or at least ideas about the sport have been around for a long time (Olympic). It was during the pioneer days that wrestling’s popularity began to grow. In Canada, there was a wrestling champion from each of the small villages and settlements. After the champions were crowned, they would all compete against each other and whoever won was the best of the best (Wrestling). A wide variety of people were involved in wrestling, even some presidents, including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Washington was good enough to win a tournament, and at one point in history, there was a style of wrestling named after him. That style, however, is no longer used in today’s sport.
Wrestling is a sport with a long history and offers many benefits in today’s world. This paper will explore the history of the sport of wrestling as the sport of wrestling has been around since biblical times. There are many facts and myths about wrestling. This paper will take you through the history of wrestling and address the benefits it provides to children and athletes of modern times. Wrestling can change lives, let’s learn how.
Many people argue that competitive sports raise numerous amounts of pressure on the youth making them distracted from things such as their education and because it can cause severe injuries, but some people argue that youth should play competitive sports because it teaches major life lessons that can help with many different aspects of their future such as college, getting a job, and many more. Playing competitive sports also improves your physical strength, another physical aspect of playing competitive sports is decreasing your chance of being obese or having disease. If you don't prefer to play competitive sports there are alternative options such as biking or walking to school. In an HT Health article “Sports Seen As Key Weapon in Fighting Teen Obesity” it says that in a study with 1,700 kids, ten percent walked or biked to school 3 ½ days a week,, in the study they found that biking or walking to school lowered the risk of being obese by 33%. I argue that kids should play competitive sports because of the important life skills taught through these sports and the physical benefit of playing sports. In this paper I will explain how communication, time management, and lowering the risk of being obese; supports my claim, “Kids should play competitive sports”
The youth of today have often been told or led to believe that an activity is not a sport. I beg to differ. As a young man and brother I was convinced that cheerleading was not a sport. My sister would argue anyone on that subject, and so would I after watching them perform. They not only cheer, but take gymnastics to another level of complexity. Cheerleading is definitely a sport with or without competitions. Once I concluded that cheerleading could be considered a sport, I began to apply those same concepts to other physical activities that I enjoy. This application leads me to consider a physical activity that I enjoy and feel I am an expert on; Motocross racing. It is a sport in all the elements defined above.
A wrestler has to be in great physical shape because they have to have speed and strength to be successful in the sport. For example if a wrestler was quite big, but was a little chubby he does not have the speed as someone that is the same weight but a little leaner. The wrestler the same weight but leaner has a slight advantage because he has the speed over the other wrestler. Now getting to that physical fitness is the hard part. It takes excessive workouts to get there than a wrestler has to continue the workouts to maintain being fit. Now to the mental aspect of wrestling. It is hard to go out on the mat against a good wrestler and actually take a shot. MAinly because in the back of their head they are thinking I do not have a chance whatever I do this guy will counter. Now getting past that thought process is the tough part. Another time the mental aspect comes in is during practice. While a wrestler wants to stop doing a workout during a practice they have to think to themselves would I be able to do this in a real match and win. The answer is obviously no, during a wrestling match every second counts you do not stop moving during those six
The sport forces a wrestler to go out on the mat and put out their best performance and show their strength is madly impressive. Coach Evans once said, "you can't just wait for things to come your way, you have to go and take it." In order for a wrestler to get what they want, they have to put in work and go out and get it. Dedication is a huge factor in wrestling. Throughout the season, wrestlers have to cut down weight for at least four to five months and make their weight class two times a week. Often times, wrestlers will wrestle off-season, to help stay in shape, as well as, improving their
Wrestling is a sport about hard work and dedication. Some people say that wrestling is the hardest sport in high school because the sport is mostly a mind game. If you let someone get in your head or the workouts get in your head, then you have already lost the fight. Just like in any situation in your life, if you let the situation get the better of you, you lost.
Video games should be considered a sport because they require specialized skills, teamworks, and requires focused or sustained practice to maintain skill all though theyŕe not physical, throw any sport you want at these three things and video games have them too.
I love sports i think they are great for us kids to get into, I believe they help us stay out of trouble. Plus we are always busy with school chores and stuff like that sports helps us get away from things like that and clear our mind out.
Most girls don’t pay money to roll around on the ground with sweaty guys. Yet that is exactly what I did this last July. No, it’s not what you’re thinking; I went to wrestling camp. Wrestling is a sport that I’ve always wanted to try, but my shyness and insecurity held me back. This year I decided that I will no longer allow other people’s opinions affect my own decisions. Joining wrestling is the first major step I’m taking to change my life.
“Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy” – Dan Gable. This quote might not seem true to everyone but not everyone has wrestled. Wrestling is a difficult sport. Wrestling wears on you physically and mentally. The sport of wrestling has many difficult tasks and most people say that you don’t have to cut weight you really don’t but it’s part of the sport just like fouls are a part of basketball. Cutting weight is one of the hardest parts of the sport.
I believe wrestling is one of the hardest sports around the world. There are only a few who stick around throughout the season because they are willing to endure the pain. I had difficulties deciding which sport to play, and I chose the one that called out to me the most. I had difficulties throughout the season at first, and then I loved wrestling even more after it ended.
With the removal of wrestling from the Olympics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is also taking away many dreams for young wrestlers all over the world. Wrestling is a very mentally and physically challenging sport. “More enduringly than any other sport, wrestling teaches self-control and pride. Some have wrestled without great skill, none have wrestled without pride”(Dan Gable). To become successful at it, one must practice regularly and put in a large amount of work. In the United States alone there are over 260,000 wrestlers who have put in this work and dedication. Yet, this is only a small portion of the wrestlers in the world. With this being a small example of the world, it is hard to not think of the multitudes of young Olympic hopefuls whose dreams are being crushed with the removal of wrestling from the Olympics.
The last category of sport is team sport. In which a group of people works together to help the team wins.
