Question 1:
Raising maximum distributor order, more than customer demand is one good choice made in the three games. According to the supply chain order, the maximum distributor order totals to 15units compared to a maximum demand of 9units. These figures prove that backordering costs will not occur during business operations. Good inventory management techniques require placing adequate orders to reduce backordering costs. The cost and time of backordering affects operations and hence the need to adequate inventory to match demand changes. An average customer order of 7units compared to average distributor order of 5units points to low backordering costs. A minimum customer order of 4units means that market demand is under control from

During the game, I realized that wide gaps in orders of every role in the supply chain such as factory, distributor and retailer create inventory management challenges. For example, distributor records 0units between week1-week 4 compared to retailer within the same period. The retailer records 3units, 5units, 2units and 2units between weeks 1- week 4. The same applies to factory with 0units from weeks 2-4. Addressing inventory management problems requires developing an average unit level to avoid disappointing customers when demand …show more content…
For example, factory production declines from weeks 10-17 because of low margins. Factories cannot produce normally because of the cost constraints facing them. The positive value seen at week 18 means that factories have addressed cost issues hence can meet market demand. A positive trend emerges during week 18 as seen from factory with 1unit and 9units for distributor. The value of -24units from retailers in the same week means that factories can produce but remain cautious about meeting previous production

This scenario demonstrates the motive to purchase personal expenses and hide small revenues and this ultimately results in a higher expense value, gaining a favourable tax return. Examples within the scenario were buying a sports car, or paying for a trip to Hawaii which are clear violations of the Business Entity Concept. This principles states that a business must be considered a separate entity from the person, and all of its financial matters should be recorded separately from one’s own. This act is seen as an unacceptable behaviour since the business is cheating the government, and keeping the money that could have been used to better the community in addition to violating common accounting standards.
Let us start off by calculating the interest earned over the four years of the mortgage:
As for my internship my job title was a flight following analyst. My goal with the company was to create a dashboard out of the 2014-2015 fiscal year flight data. My typical day would consist of around a 1 hour and 20 minute commute one way. The internship was located at the Tobias Bolanos International Airport. That is where the headquarters, and all the offices were located. However all the flights flew out of the Juan Santamaria International Airport.
I use SharePoint and Outlook primarily to manage multiple project. I created a couple of SharePoint workflow to automate stakeholder’s notifications. SharePoint automatically notifies the stakeholders when the deliverables were available. I also used PostIT and Trello. Yammer was also helpful in keeping in touch with the
In this scenario, I envisioned Jenny as a single college student, living alone in an apartment within walking distant from her campus and part-time job. Her car was a high school graduation gift from her parents; therefore, she does not have a car payment expense. She is still covered under her parents’ dental and health insurance plans while attending college so she does not have to allocate money for those expenses either. Garbage and recycling services at her apartment complex are included in her monthly rent. Having access to the internet is vital for her college courses so Jenny could bundle her cable, internet, and landline services for a discount.
For last week assignment, we were all asked to download three fitness apps of our choice and to monitor our daily physical activity and calorie intake. The three apps I decided to download for this assignment were Myfitnesspal (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/), MyPlate (https://www.livestrong.com /myplate/), and SparkPeople (https://www.sparkpeople.com). In order to use each of these apps, I had to input general information about myself such as height, current weight, weight goal, date of birth, and whether or not if I would like to gain, lose or maintain weight. Having the ability to scan my food barcode made each app easy to use. Out of all three apps, I would say that Myfitnesspal and MyPlate were the easiest apps to figure out. I had a little difficult time using SparkPeople in the beginning. I had a hard time figuring out how to automatically set up my step from my iPhone. Most of these apps were not complete, in order to track my macros or to know what foods rank the highest in nutrients, I would need to pay for premium membership to gain those type of access. However, with each of these apps, I was able to choose a variety of workouts.
According to your budget, will you earn enough to finance the lifestyle that you want?
The amount of money that I spent on discretionary expenses was eye opening. I did not really realize the amount of money that was being spent on food and drinks every day that could be saved by bringing a lunch or just buying the drinks in bulk and bringing them from home. While I was looking on the spreadsheet before totaling the amounts I was not expecting the costs to add up so fast. By completing this assignment, it has caused me to realize the amount of money I could be saving in my bank account or saving for purchases that will make a difference in my life.
After completing CareerLeader, I am surprised that in my interest besides influencing others my next highest interest, quantitative analysis, was in the 44th percentile. I did not think that my next highest interest would be so low compared to my first interest which was in the 91st percentile. I was also surprised how low most of my skills scored. I only had one key skill and I thought more would score higher. I was not surprised about what my top two career matches, law and finances in a corporate setting, because that’s what I think I want to do. I would like to either be a sports agent or work with a sports team with their finances. I also was not surprised about what my top interest was given my career match. I also was not surprised with my top two motivators, security and positing, because my dad always told me to be secured in my finances and because I have also learned better by watching someone do what is needed to be done. Overall I was not that surprised with the overall results because they were what I expected them to state.
I passed two different tests and got almost the exact same results. The first test shows me that I have four clearly expressed intelligences: Kinesthetic, Logical, Intrapersonal and Visual/Spatial. The second test gave me three top intelligences: Kinesthetic, Logical and Intrapersonal. I can say that all results correspond to reality. It is true that I love sports. I play tennis around 11 years. Also, I like math because of it I chose accounting discipline. In addition, it is completely true that I am an intrapersonal. Using these results I may think about my future career. However, I already have chosen one and it is correct decision this test proved my thoughts. Also, Kinesthetic intelligence provides me a chance to go in for sport. Logical intelligence supports my decision to be an accountant or an economist. However Intrapersonal intelligence shows me that I may reach successes working as CEO, an entrepreneur or even a psychologist.
Effective supply chain management can provide an important competitive advantage for a business marketer, resulting in improved communication and involvement among members of the chain, increased motivation, and decreased costs. Tracking the movement of and demand for components used to manufacture a product across a variety of potential and actual suppliers, provides insight and the ability to respond instantly to shortages, surpluses, and changes in market conditions. It seeks to optimize production, decrease manufacturing time, minimize inventory, streamline order fulfillment, and reduce cost.
In supply chain management there is a million in one ways a company can approach its warehouses, suppliers, and stores utilizing different strategies to ensure they are distributing the right amount of merchandise. Failure to deliver the right amount of merchandise at the right time could lead to the supply chain management losing tons of money over wrongly timed delivered items.
Since the variation in demand is high, a fixed order quantity model would have been suitable for modelling the inventory management process at the European DC of HP. We could have arrived at a suitable reordering point looking into the lead time and demand variation in that lead time. However, ordering cost is not available and is hard to estimate given the facts in the case and hence we reject this model.
We began our analysis by searching for bottlenecks that existed in the current system. It was easily identified that major issues existed in the ordering process. Without calculations, you could tell the reorder point was too low since the historical plots showed inventory levels at zero for two or more days at a time. The number of jobs in customer orders showed correlating spikes at the same time of the inventory outages. We reviewed the utilization and queues of the other stations in the system but were hesitant to make in immediate changes since we were not entirely certain the effects of correcting the inventory policy.
