Shantessa Pama (cousin) born on March 5 is a retired American elite gymnast who grew up in Kailua,Kona Hawaii. She started her education at kahakai elementary until she was about 8 years old she is now a residence of Dana Point California where she continued her education at Dana Hills High School and graduated in 2009. Shantessa quotes “I missed home a lot when I moved but there was no competition here for me I was no longer allowed to compete here and gymnastics was my passion. The Rana sylvatica, or wood frog, portrays itself in an unassuming manner. However, the Rana sylvatica undergoes a fascinating physiological response when exposed to extreme cold. For exemplification, the Rana sylvatica spends the entire winter in an unconscious state. Superficially, this is commonplace in the animal kingdom. Civil and human rights leader, the late Minoru Yasui, is another person to receive the Presidency Medal of Freedom. Minoru went to law school and he graduated from the University of Oregon. A long part of his life was devoted to the military curfew implemented during World War II because Japanese Americans were under a curfew and were forced to live in concentration camps. Minoru deliberately went out after curfew and he was arrested. He took a stand against the curfew claiming it was racially unjust against Japanese Americans. However, that didn’t stop him from caused him to spend nine months in solitary confinement. He continued to fight for the injustice and died in 1987, unable to overturn the conviction.

Doing field experience at St.Mary’s Preschool has taught me a lot not only about the educational system but about myself as well. I’ve learned over these couple of months that in order to become a wonderful teacher, you have to have an enormous amount of patience and dedication. Teaching isn’t an easy profession and through this experience, my respect for my teachers have grown tremendously. Many students often take their teachers for granted but they don't realize what they do for us.

I learned quickly that being an effective teacher is an art that takes time and devotion. Many times, teachers are not provided with the necessary materials in order to maintain the various learning styles in a classroom. It is up to the teacher to create an environment where students can succeed. This is a full time job, meaning that a teacher’s work is not done once they leave the school. A teacher must contribute a significant amount of time and effort in order to see positive results in the school and in his or her own classroom. After observing my cooperating teacher’s strategies and learning more about the profession, I knew that I was going in the right direction with my life. I took a significant amount of knowledge away from this experience and have continued to strive to be the type of educator that I was blessed to work with during this experience. .
