Yankees Lineup
Right now as of writing this the Yankees are 21-10 tied for the second best record in the MLB with the Redsox at 22-9. Last year theYankees barely got in to the playoffs with the wild card spot. Despite that they went on to the AL championship, and almost made it to the World Series. I believe that the Yankees have a chance to win the World Series, and here’s why.
The Yankees have many great players. We have Aaron Judge, who last year was the rookie of the year and second in the AL MVP voting. Right now he leads the team with a whopping .432 on base percentage which is the third best in the league. His on base percentage is so high is because he’s so good he gets intentionally walked or gets thrown pitches to try and make him chase and get out.

Giancarlo Stanton got traded to the Yankees over the summer bringing in a lot of hype about the 2 players who hit the most home runs last year on the same team (Stanton and Judge). So far he has a .234 batting avg. and 7 home runs. The avg. isn’t great right now, but that was due to his timing being off at the beginning of the year.
Gary Sanchez is the catcher who hits bombs. Last year Gary Sanchez was in the home run derby and took out Stanton which can just show you the power and endurance he has. Right now he is hitting .209 with 9 home runs. Once again the avg. isn’t great but he has 9 home run already which is crazy. Also he will start getting his avg. up soon anyway.
Right now Didi Gregorious is leading the team in home runs, batting avg.,RBI’s, and even hits. Last year he was good and very underrated but now he is arguably the best shortstop in baseball. Right no he is hitting a solid .311 batting avg. with 10 home runs this early in the
Designated hitter Marques Inman had a career-best four hits with two RBI and sophomore catcher Ivan Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a career high three RBI.
Hector Olivera starting in left field, a questionable trade the Braves made for him. He has not shown much promise at the minor league level last season or during Spring Training. He hit is first home run over the weekend but it did not count since the game was rained out.
Chris Owings: Owings is truly a jack of all trades. Wherever the DBacks need him, he is there, whether he plays outfield, shortstop or second base, although his primary role is shortstop. Drafted by the Diamondbacks in 2009 out of high school. He made his major league debut in Sept of 2013. He spent sometime prowling around the Diamondbacks system but it looks like he is here to stay. In 28 games, Owings is batting .311 with 21 RBI's and 5 HR. His salary has gone up in both DK and Fanduel, he is currently sitting at $4200. Scoring in double-digit fantasy points most nights, he is well worth the roster spot.
Baseball statistics are meant to be a representation of a player’s talent. Since baseball’s inception around the mid-19th century, statistics have been used to interpret the talent level of any given player, however, the statistics that have been traditionally used to define talent are often times misleading. At a fundamental level, baseball, like any game, is about winning. To win games, teams have to score runs; to score runs, players have to get on base any way they can. All the while, the pitcher and the defense are supposed to prevent runs from scoring. As simplistic as this view sounds, the statistics being used to evaluate individual players were extremely flawed. In an attempt to develop more
Have you ever seen or noticed Mike Trout or Bryce Harper play.Well I have and it's incredible to watch them play. These two players were prospects since the age of 15. This is something Jon Paul Morosi said about the two, “Harper and Trout are fun to watch. They’re exciting players. The writers, the fans — everyone appreciates that. Those guys are going to be around for 15, 16 years. And it’s not just writers and fans. There are guys around the league watching them. I can see why they get the attention.” (Trout vs. Harper: Who ya got? 1) They were All Americans and the best players on there teams. So far in these players’ careers they have made a mark in the league and there greatness is still to come. They have also won many achievements and they have only been in the league for a couple seasons. Mike Trout is better than Bryce Harper because of his achievements, his career stats, and his mental games and attitude.
Fast forward to today, with Rodriguez settling back in as the everyday DH, and #36 back in RF, the Yankees sit in fourth place, at 27-30. There is still a long way to go in this season, and it’s anyone’s guess as to how exactly it ends. But the one thing you can count is that Carlos Beltran will continue to grind out productive at bats. Why, you ask. Because he’s in a contract year. And when the chips are down, Beltran shines when it’s time to get paid! Look no further than to his past contract
Derek Jeter is one of the most beloved baseball players in the history of baseball. His rookie year he won the Rookie of the Year Award, but did not have the best fielding stats in the league. His rookie year he had the most errors ever in his career. He had twenty two errors that season and needed to improve.
Bryce Harper is the player that you love to have on your own team, but opponents can't stand him! He might have a swagger that annoys opponents, but he is one heck of a baseball player and this year he is breaking out to the superstar everyone expected! He is just 22 years of age and he is one of the most feared hitters in baseball. He has battled injuries to start his career because of what some have termed too much hustle, but this year he has put all together. He is hitting .331 27 home runs and 64 runs batted in the no question NL MVP at this point in the season. He might rub fans and opponents the wrong way but he is fun to watch play baseball I just wish as a Braves fan he was in a different division.
Love them or hate them he is having a remarkable start to the 2015 season at times carrying the Yankees offense that has been stagnant at times during the season. He is hitting .271 18 home runs and 51 runs batted in, he also has a 900 OPS and everyone that has a 900 OPS or higher is on the All-Star team with the exception of Rodriguez. I guarantee you if you told the Yankees and Alex Rodriguez himself those are the numbers he would put up in the first half they would have taken that and ran with it. He has defied father time at almost 40 years old and two surgically repaired hips it's downright amazing that he has been able to put up these All-Star type numbers.
With Vermont, his average for batting was .340, at bat average of .386 and an average of on base with a .509 with one homerun in 13 games. 3. At the end of the season he was with the Class-A Burlington Bees. a. Ending the season, he was hitting with an average for batting with a .310, at bat with a .369, and an on base with a .448.
The New York Yankees were a very popular baseball team in the 1960s because of their ability to go far and win the world series 2 times in the 1960’s. In 1962 The Yankees went to the world series and played at Yankee Stadium(britannica.com). In the World Series, they ended up defeating the San Francisco Giants in game 7 so the Yankees could take the gold trophy(Britannica.com).Game 7 in the world series means that the two teams playing had an equal skill level. Each team won 3 games, but in the last game the Yankees took the gold by learning from their mistakes. It is springtime and the MLB baseball season has started. Millions of people are watching baseball and cheering players on. But many people don’t know about one of the best players of recent times. Albert Pujols played for many teams but had most of his best times with the STL Cardinals. Pujols inspired many people to play baseball and do their best at it.
People were dreaming about Nick Markakis after his strong 2007 and 2008 seasons, but he was unable to remain elite and now should be seen as nothing more than a good but not great player. The Orioles have developed a number of starting pitcher prospects who were legitimately hoped to become aces. Some have been successful starters for a time, like Gausman, Bundy and Tillman, but the one that truly became a top of the rotation pitcher was only successful as a Cub. The Orioles have been waiting a long time for an elite player like Machado.
Mike Trout, Mike Trout is the best current player in the MLB right now. He is a dominate hitter, fielder and a great teammate. Mike Trout is a 6’2, 235lb player from Vineland New Jersey. He is in the top five in the league for all statistics except for strikeouts, not including the players that had one ten at bats because then they can have crazy stats. Some categories he is number 1 is he scored the most runs and walks. Mike Trout is the best player in the MLB.
I believe that you Chicago Cubs are doing very well. I hope after your loss in the National League Playoffs, you guys rebound, and make it to the World Series next year.
