On September 21 Mrs. Dietshe told me that Yarizel's mom agreed to enroll her daughter back into the program. Mrs. Dietshe is working on obtaining all the necessary documentation for Yarizel.
While implementing Primary Health Care models, identical to those in metropolitan areas, in a rural setting is not practical, I feel there is an obvious need to improve primary health care in remote areas. This is due to the significant health gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, in rural and remote areas
This week for the reporting period, I had an opportunity to travel with a case worker to pick up a child in CPS custody from Millcreek in Pontotoc, MS. I observed the way the child acted. The workers at Millcreek said the child was a handful and to be careful. I also had the chance to transport two teenagers in foster care to school. Both of the children went to different schools. They said it was pretty cool to have someone young taking them to school instead of the older workers. I thought that was kind of funny. It was easy to talk to them and they seemed comfortable being in the car with me. I also had the opportunity to pick up a child from school and take them to New Beginnings which is a counseling clinic and afterwards I took the

The mom called the school to be positive that Hannah went to school and she did. Hannah usually is home by the time the mom get home from work around 4:30 PM, unless Hannah has band practice which she didn’t today. Hannah is very responsible and text the mom before she does anything to ask if it is okay. Hailey Russell is who we started to talk to after we asked the mom questions. Hailey Russell said that they went to school together this morning. Hannah and Hailey share a car together that is how they get to and from school. Hailey got home from school by driving home from school at 2:30 PM. Hannah plays trumpet in the marching band so she stayed after school to help a freshman practice playing the trumpet. Hailey had a big history report due tomorrow so she came home to work on it. She told Hannah to call when she was done and she would go to the school to pick Hannah up. Hannah told Hailey she would be done by 3:30 PM at the latest. Hailey didn’t think anything about the time till Mary got home from work and asked where Hannah was. Hailey drove to the high school that they go to but she wasn't there. The high school name is Central High
i think Equiano is very successful at making readers aware of the injustice the slaves endured. 1 example from the text is from paragraph 6 "the filth of the necessary tubs, into which the children often fell, and were almost suffocated". The second example is from paragraph 4, "on my refusing to eat, one of them held me fast by the hands, and laid me across i think the wind;ass, and tied my feet, while the other flogged me severely." Each passage reflects his purpose of writing this story because in each paragraph he's explaining his experiences and the feelings he had, like in paragraph 4 he says "I now wished for my last friend, death, to relieve me." The events being narrated is for the readers to have a visual of what the writer experienced.
Once the K-1 writing booklets arrived and I was able to complete my own overview of administering this final domain my prior assumptions were inaccurate. I was pleasantly surprised to find very few questions and each one was a different measurement of a student's writing ability. I was able to immediately lower each of my ELL student's affective filters and raise their motivation by letting them know that this portion would not take as long as the last one and they were going to do
Treblinka, 1941 - one of the events in history during the Holocaust that will never be forgotten by the Jews. It is one of those moments where Jews come together in the hardest of times to create, in a sense, peace amongst themselves. Not only did the Holocaust affect the Jews physically and mentally at the time, but it also greatly impacted their lives after the horror. Some victims of the Holocaust, the worst atrocity committed in humankind’s history, find it extremely difficult to open up and talk about their past because they don't want to remember any part of it. However, most survivors choose to share their stories with the younger generation in order to pass them onto future ones. Despite the torture and cruelty that the survivors
Over the course of this semester, I have learned a lot about who I am. I have discovered things that I did not know about myself. Choosing Spelman College as an institute to education myself at was only the first step that I took. Overcoming the challenges that it has brought is the second step that I am yet taking. I am slowly, but surely transforming into a Free Thinking Woman.
Last semester, I was a new member of the sorority Alpha Phi, prior to its dismissal from our campus. Following the removal of Alpha Phi and the press release of an article that discussed the removal of the sorority, my fellow new members and I faced a significant amount of slander and exclusion from our classmates and other greek life members. Despite the disrespectful comments and unwelcoming environment on the campus in which I had grown to love, I found reassurance in the support of the 29 other freshman and sophomore girls in my pledge class. This group of young women united to be the rock each other needed at a time when no one knew the facts of what was occurring. The compassion I felt from these young women who I had just been introduced
Dating back to ancient times, the role of women has never reached true equality with men. We can trace this inequality back to as early as the great Athenian society, where life as we know it today started taking form. On the other side of the inequality, throughout the ancient history of the world, the roles and positions that women have had have improved over time. We can see this tracing time from Athens, to Sparta, the Roman Republic, it's Empire and the rise of Christianity. Although some of theses societies lived parallel in time, each one shows a difference in the way they treat women. Each one did not treat women the same, but the end result compared to the beginning is positive for women.
The purpose of the LRAs was to understand the vignettes on a deeper level. In completing them, I learned a lot not only about Cisneros and the book and things like that, but quite a bit about myself too. These LRAs made me more confident in my ability to analyze writing pieces and it helped me grow in my ability to do just that. I realized I’ve been underestimating my ability to find a deeper meaning in a piece of writing, and the LRAs helped prove to myself that I am better than I tell myself I am. I usually think of myself as dumb or useless, but when I start thinking and I focus on my work, I realize that I’m actually fairly smart. Back to the LRAs. These LRAs made me delve deep into the author’s words and the intent behind them, and

This semester I learned a lot about writing in English 151. It has been a roller coaster ride with these essays for me this semester. I learned step by step how to write a good essay and how to have your readers be engaged in what you’re trying to tell them. Each essay I did has taught me something valuable I can take to the next level of English. I feel as if as the semester went by I did not take my writing that seriously and that reflected in my grades I received in each essay. It made me a better student and writer and it will reflect next semester. In this essay, I will reflect on what I learned throughout this semester that you should apply in your writing when you begin English 151.
Everyone has their own characteristics that set them apart. The way they act, think, and feel gives them their own individual personality. But what if you could learn exactly what type of person you are? That is what intrigued me when I heard about the Enneagram system. I have taken personality quizzes before, but none were as accurate as the Enneagram. By taking this quiz, I learned more about myself than I realized I knew. The largest components of this questionnaire are the center, wings, and arrows. One’s personality is more complex than it seems. Even though I am classified to a particular group, I blend into other types similar to mine. Along with the Enneagram questionnaire, I completed a Learning Styles survey. This survey also
SLAM, Joel woke with a start to the sound of the old rusted out truck door slamming shut. He figured he knew what that sound meant on this day compared to others. It meant his uncle, Bert, was putting his dog down. Joel knew the day was coming the way his aunt and uncle had been talking lately but he fought it nonetheless. Constantly yelling and arguing since that was the only thing he could think to do since he wasn’t really fighting the two adults who usually stood before him but rather time. Joel felt worthless in the months leading up to now since he knew there was nothing he could do. To Joel, that sound was the final blow, he was well aware that he did not have a choice anymore. Regardless of that fact that was sinking in, Joel bolted up right and tore through the old house flying through the front door. Completely jumping the rotted out steps Joel landed in a cloud of dust that billowed up from where his barefeet made contact with the dirt before taking off after the old pickup truck as it rumbled down the gravel driveway.
