There are many great theme options for the yearbook. However, the most unique theme for the yearbook would be the Jungle theme, by Kaylie Reitan and Devyn Leiterman. If we chose the Jungle theme, the yearbook would be fresh, bright and colorful, and easy to incorporate.

Soon after death, anywhere from two to six hours after passing, an event called rigor mortis begins. Rigor mortis is the third stage of death. Rigor mortis is the stiffening or tensing of muscles after death. It is what causes a deceased person's eyelids to open. Rigor mortis is caused by the contraction of muscles in the body immediately after death. It starts with long, narrow bundles of cells that form muscle tissue. These cells build up electric potential by actively pumping out calcium ions. A neuron will release a signal, and when the muscle cells receive it, they open up the calcium channels in their cell membranes. The calcium ions will then rush out through the cell membranes due to the difference in voltage inside and outside of the cell. “Calcium ions will interact with actin and myosin filaments to cause muscle contraction.”(Source 6) Muscles will remain contracted, or in a contracted state, until ATP binds to myosin. When ATP binds to myosin, it releases the myosin and actin from each other, causing the muscles to release. However, when a person is dead they can no longer produce ATP, therefore, the muscles stay clenched. This causes the body to have a sickly stiff appearance. After the muscles have stiffened, the body moves on to the next stage of death.

There are three main channels for Cookie Craze. The first channel is a direct-to-consumer channel that consists of an on-site store at our bakery. This channel is expected to drive a considerable amount of business, probably the majority of our sales initially. However, just one accomplishment like that is simply not enough for the American population. Some students try too hard, by participating in school events and making good grades, just to get the attention they do not deserve. So, the people have spoken, and in several school systems across the United States, everyone obtains equal representation in the yearbook. If one person is mentioned five times, every student is mentioned five times. Of course, this rules out any racial, gender or sexuality bias caused by the creators of the yearbook, but that is not the important part of this tremendous change. The importance of equal representation is to get the students who truly deserve fame, those of who could not care less of school and their low standard morals, their rightful place in the yearbook. For our week-long nutrition study, we decided to make three graphs: A bar graph, a scatter plot, and a box plot. For the bar graph, we wanted to compare protein, fat, sodium, and sugar because although they are not huge, we thought they should still be represented. As for the scatter plot, we analyzed our caloric intake per day throughout the week because we wanted to see how much we eat by day. And for the final graph, the box plot, we found the spread of how many grams of carbs we had per meal, as carbs is one of the biggest nutrition components.

There are many ways that a school can communicate its ethos, mission, aims and values, to pupils, staff and parents. A school prospectus or handbook should communicate clear understandable information, taking into consideration the surrounding ethnic community and maybe translating it into different languages.

Birth control is medically necessary, but whether women should have to pay for it out of pocket is an issue which has not yet been settled. The cost for anyone seeking to buy birth control without insurance ranges anywhere between twenty-five to eight hundred dollars. Despite the fact that it can be used to treat a myriad of disorders, from ovarian cysts to endometriosis, and can be used to prevent certain cancers, many employers seek to deny coverage to women because they assert that it infringed upon their religious beliefs. Other members of the opposition claim that pregnancy is a natural consequence of sex and that taxpayers should not have to pay for birth control. However, these claims are irresponsible and not based in fact or logic. Birth control is necessary to many women throughout the United States, and as such should be covered by insurance.

And most students wish that they could just complete a project because they WANT to! That’s kind of how I see the yearbook. We could go any direction with it! We could do a classic, “A Year to Remember” all the way to a twist on Google’s “You Are Here.” I would do good working on backgrounds and creating unique ideas for layouts. I enjoy creating designs for really anything. I often create binder covers for friends, make magazine collages, and in August I organized my cousins My Little Pony/ Frozen birthday party. I made her invitations, designed her cake, etc. The great thing about yearbook staff is that our “free will project” isn’t something we’ll work hard on and then throw away after it’s graded!
