Yeast Lab Report Guidelines
1. Lab reports are to be computer-generated and double-spaced. All sections of the report must be written in paragraph form.
2. Do not use encyclopedias (Internet or otherwise), dictionaries ((Internet or otherwise), or personal web pages as sources for the report, this includes Wikipedia. You may use a textbook, lab manual, and/or article(s) in a published journal.
You can find journal articles by going to the library website: http://www.lib.clemson.edu/ and selecting “Find Articles”, then choose the letter B, and then the database BIOSIS or

State the purpose of the experiment.
State the null hypothesis. Information in this section of the report must be presented in this sequence: background information, purpose of the experiment, null hypothesis tested. Daphnia are an important prey resource for many invertebrate and vertebrate predators (Mills and Forney, 1983).
For three or more authors, the citation should be as follows:
Jumping ability in fleas is correlated with resting metabolic rate (Krasnov et al., 2004).
METHODS AND MATERIALS
Describe what you did in the experiment, and include methods and materials used. Do not include any results, just describe what you did, not what you found. Lastly, include the following statement, which addresses the statistical method used to analyze the data: A chi-square median test was used to

You should cite a source anytime you paraphrase, summarize, or quote from a source that is not your own brain. This means that if you read something and think, “Oh, I’ll just reword it and put it in my paper,” you still must cite the source that it came from. If you are referring to something that is considered “common knowledge”, meaning that a majority of the population will generally know about it, you usually do not have to cite you source. Also, you don’t need to cite the information if it is something that you came up with independently and without the help from outside sources or materials. It can be difficult at times to make the distinction of whether an idea is truly your own, which is why I was taught, seemingly
Another improvement that I would make would be that I listed other materials that I used or needed. This improvement would help prove that my experiment is professional and is repeatable, using the same eqiupment and
