Long before the Florida Turnpike and the Interstate Highway System ramped up to full speed and swampland in Central Florida was paved over, Florida tourist venues and roadside attractions were an eclectic mix of fun, imagination, intrigue and amazement for everyone. From reptile farms, tropical gardens and aquatic springs to dolphin shows, old west towns and museums of the unique and strange, tourists visiting Florida were able to catch, either by design or on a whim, these venues, as they rolled down US highways 1,19, 41, 301 and all the off-the-beaten-path back roads. But as time marched on, so did the tourist, as they stayed on the interstate and headed for Orlando, to see what all the hub-bub was about in the early 1970s. The venues and attractions may be long gone, but they are not forgotten, as memories of the wonderful tourist and roadside attractions that were a piece of Florida history, are recalled.

Venice Beach, CA is one of the most remarkable beach area in the United States. It is often stated that no tour is complete unless the most famed beach and broad walk is not visited. This beach contains every bit of exotic talent. The local entertainers display their crude flair. These entertainers are to be found in the form of break-dancers, jugglers, musicians, jesters and very one in between the human talent. The broad-way offers a varied amount of eateries. this place has a considerable amount of souvenir shops, paintings, vintage photos, sun glasses, classic beach outfits and many other fascinating objects.

After revisiting this popular tourist attraction with a different, fresh mindset, I am able to support the argument made by Dean MacCannell that tourism is a search for authenticity. While tourists come up to Griffith Park to check off a popular Los Angeles landmark and “must see attraction” from their long list, they are also coming to witness a taste of the “real” Los Angeles. However, this “real” and authentic LA that they seek will not necessarily be found here up in the mountains themselves, but instead in the land beyond and in the people they encounter.

I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store.
