As a person who has never done yoga or hasn’t had much practice with breathing exercises; it was hard to remain focused while following the instructions of the audio. For a few minutes, I was able to breathe slowly and follow the instructions, but then my mind was invaded with thoughts and feelings, this caused me to lose my concentration. Although, I kept trying to continue meditating, it was hard to stay focused for more than a few minutes. I think Yoda Nidra could be helpful for individuals struggling with anxiety and stress disorders because it would allow them to decrease the intensity of their symptoms. Of the many techniques people use to reduce stress, yoga is among one of the more popular. Although some may believe that effects of yoga are merely physical, there is research that suggests that yoga has direct impacts on one’s mental state. According to Forbes, in addition to the benefits on the heart and blood flow, yoga helps release dopamine and gaba and serotonin (Walton, 2012). All of these are known to create feeling of happiness in a person (K. W. Brown, personal communication, Sept. 7). For this lab, I decided I would try yoga for myself to test the results.

Meditative breathing is specific form of meditative that has been found effective in treating symptoms of anxiety (Vukovic, 2003). Meditative breathing is essentially taking a few minutes to stop and focus on the rising and falling on your breath. A person will do the activity for a specified time limit or number of breaths. The goal is for the person to clear his or her mind of all thoughts unrelated to their breathing. Through this process the person is said to be 'centering' themselves and disengaging from stressful distractions such as racing and/or obsessive thoughts (Murphy, 2006).
Something that seems as simple as breathing requires so much that we don’t even realize. I can honestly relate this video to everything in my life and that is what just makes this video so amazing. I can’t stop thinking about if I am actually controlling my life or if I have no control over what is happening.

Yoga has been shown to be effective as an adjunctive treatment for a wide variety of disorders, including epilepsy, diabetes, heart disease, insomnia, and chronic pain (Streeter et al., 2012; van der Kolk, 2014). Lying is a very serious problem everywhere, especially in America. I’ve been told that in America, credit is very important to have in able to become successful, besides, no one likes a compulsive liar.
This project is one of three assigned reports I will complete as part of the strategic analysis of Johnson and Johnson. This firs report focuses on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) and includes the following sections. First, the major concepts related to the SWOT analysis will be defined. Second, those concepts will be applied to the specific case of Johnson and Johnson. Then the evidence from Johnson and Johnson will be evaluated to identify the major problem the company is facing and propose a solution that Johnson and Johnson can adopt to restore its lost competitive advantage.
Together with all of what the video was guiding me to do, I can honestly say I enjoy the activity, found it relaxing for the duration of it, but felt that it lacked something for me personally. Furthermore, I didn’t feel the flow between my personal being with the video or the imagery that were being used. As of matter of fact, in the few activities I have participated in which guided meditation has been used I notice, lack of flow between me, and the activity. Which can be due to the fact that I have never been taught or gotten used to doing this sort of activity. Personally, I would not change anything I believe the activity was fully rewarding and engaging if that’s something you can flow and enjoy, you can definitely ripped benefits, which I did, but I do not think I got that full plethora of rewards. This was an interesting experience to say the least, I have never ever lead something like this in my life. Therefore, they were many mishap and funny circumstances. A New Hope and The Force Awakens are two very similar movies when it comes to plot structure, reason being is that the director wanted to get the original fan base onboard when restarting the Star Wars franchise. And with that in mind, you start to hear many similarities in the scores as well. John Williams brings back a few of the classic themes from the first movie, such as the opening theme, Luke’s theme, Han and Leia’s theme, Leia’s theme, Rebel Fanfare, and of course the Imperial March. As well as having classic themes, John Williams also brings in some new ones such as Rey’s theme, Kylo Ren’s theme, and the Resistance theme. The Force Awakens is the start of a new generation for Star Wars, and the way that Williams scored the Force Awakens seems to be a lot more nuanced and has a sense of familiarity to it that connects to A New Hope to attract the older generation of fans.
Before taking the class, and before really understanding the benefits of mindfulness, I must admit, I did not really take mindfulness exercises seriously. I tried a few exercises, led by a phone application, but I constantly wondered what these exercises were supposed to achieve. I always thought to myself, “I know what happens around me, being mindful is great, but specific exercises for this seemed exaggerated.”
