The indication of morning had approached; wind halted while the air became temperate. Morning routine of the birds, fetching food for their children, communicating with the others, hatching their eggs. Newly seeded grass shooted out, growing like weeds. The air reminded Mary of a camping trip when she was younger in Yosemite Park. Pinecones and trees gave her the happy memories, ones of her husband and her only child before the accident. Mary exposed her eyes through the trees to the sun, knowing it happened again; she sleepwalked through the forest. Mary forced herself up, again thinking of the trip before everything went wrong. Mary drove like the wind, needing to get back home before Christmas Eve. Steve was oblivious to the world in the passenger seat and Lucas was drowsed in the back seat. Snow covered the sides of …show more content…
Andrea sat in the break room, waiting for her shift to start at 8:30, her long, crisp black hair covered the back of the seat. Andrea had her face deep into paperwork but, then noticed Mary walked into the room and looked up, took off her glasses and wiped her forehead. Andrea’s porcelain skin, looked like it has barely seen any sunlight, or even touched. Mary and Andrea had most of the day piled up in paperwork, except for their breaks. At lunchtime, Mary added to her stories of sleepwalking into the forest, including the one early in the morning. “ You need to live with someone because this is getting out of hand.” Andrea stated. “ Nothing bad has happened yet. Also, I need the exercise anyway.” Mary answered. Mary left work and thought about what Andrea said. What if she did live with someone else? Would they stop her from going out at night? These thoughts followed her to the bus stop and until she got on the bus. Mary noticed that the same man eavesdropping on her conversation earlier was still there, he stared at her while she sat
Yosemite National Park is a beautiful park that is just hours away from San Francisco and has some of the best hiking and scenic areas found in our National Parks. Camping at Yosemite can be a challenge though. All of the campsites within Yosemite are on a reservation system that fills up in seconds after the dates are opened. Seriously! If you know you want to camp within the park, please plan way ahead of time to secure a spot. When making a reservation make sure you are signing up for an RV or a tent space. If you are tent camping, know that you will have to park a little bit away and carry your gear in as there is no space for you to park next to your tenting spot. Yosemite camping can get
Just east of Slide Mountain, you will come across Matterhorn Canyon. This thirteen-mile hike is very famous because you will not find another canyon in Yosemite that compares to this one. This canyon has a small river flowing in between the walls of Matterhorn Canyon. These “walls” are scattered with rocks and meadows. Its cliffs are made out of smooth granite, which are crystallized igneous rock. Hiking up the trail to the northern boundary of Matterhorn Canyon is Matterhorn Peak. This peak is very spectacular in that you are able to ascend this peak with the right gear and it is one of the highest peaks in the Northern part of the

I made my way to my aunt’s house. Her home smelled of fresh cut pine, and she offered me a cup of coffee with a cinnamon stick in it. I accepted, and we went to the kitchen table and discussed our week. As she talked, I looked out her kitchen table. A small oak grew in the front yard. Snow capped the birdfeeder beside her bird bath.
In regards to the geologic components of Yosemite National Park, it essentially has two main parts. The first part is the deposition and deformation of the metamorphic rocks and the emplacement of the granitic rocks during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic periods. The second part is the uplift, erosion, and glaciation that took place with the rocks during the Cenozoic period. Yosemite National Park is relatively helpful in regards to observing the display of its geologic changes. When the Cretaceous period was ending which was roughly 65 million years ago, the granitic core of the range started to become
For many young people the summer season includes plans to travel the world, take leaps in life, explore new things, and make lasting friendships. For some people summer means traveling across the country from Maine to California. Residing in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Yosemite National Park. Allana Hall describes Yosemite as “a tight knit community nestled in tree covered wilderness that leaves you speechless and wanting more”. Yosemite is a unique city-like national park that lies far from most other civilization but is bustling with guests and locals within the walls of the valley. Allana states “everyone stays in canvas tents, were charged $7 a week for rent. Living here is simple, and everyone is like family. There is a
Spending time in nature is very important in order to know how and why we should protect it. The best way to enjoy nature is to have no interferences from the modern world, the government has places like these called wilderness areas, where there is no human interference allowed except for hikers, planes aren't even allowed to fly over. Wilderness areas are also great for providing healthy ecosystems for the animals that live there. This resolution would expand the wilderness areas inside existing national parks and create wilderness areas inside national parks that don't already have wilderness areas.
Yosemite is well known for its beautiful sights and trails. There’s many things to do there that are enjoyable. The hike range from fairly easy to difficult. Besides that, there are lodges and other activities for people to do. This area is abundant with wildlife and different types of plants, which add to its beauty. The mist trail and vernal falls both offer incredible views of the waterfall and other surrounding scenery. It’s definitely worth the long hike to get at the top of vernal falls. It can be tricky getting up there and maneuvering around the rocks. It’s important to wear the right shoes, so you won’t fall and injure yourself. Many people get hurt at Yosemite each year by not following instructions and doing the right thing.
The Upper Yosemite Falls hike is fast becoming one of the most popular hikes in Yosemite. Being the tallest waterfall in North America, climb this day hike and you will be rewarded with some amazing vistas of the Yosemite Valley from the top of the falls. The reward is worth the effort! After an eight hour drive we finally made it to Yosemite National Park. We were minutes away from starting our camping adventure and none of us could hold in our excitement. As we pulled into the parking lot we instantly noticed that the whole place was completely abandoned. We were puzzled as to why the park was closed. Annabelle was the first one to break the silence. She turned to Wyatt and said, “there is no way in hell that I’m leaving this place without going camping.” The furious look on her face made us realize that she would be impossible to reason with. Wyatt tried explaining to her that it might not be safe to camp at a deserted park but she grabbed her backpack and marched over to the fence. She promptly threw her gear over the fence
If you really want to have an adventure and have an amazing experience, Yosemite is the place for you. Yosemite National Park is set within California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. Yosemite is a area perfect for camping, hiking and adventure. Yosemite holds so many memories that I will truly cherish for many years. I went to Yosemite National Park in the Summer of 2015. My parents really wanted me to get the full California experience, so we literally went everywhere in California. On the last week of our vacation, a group of our friends surprised us with a camping trip. I was at scared about the camping trip (since, I’ve never went camping and plus I’m terrified of bears), but in the end this was the first
I just came back from a camping trip all the ways from Yosemite Nation Park at central California’s, feral Nevada, the mountain range in the US. It was an amazing trip and I had learned a lot from it. Mostly, I had been awarded that Mother Nature had created us amazing scenery and left us only one mission, which is to watch over her creation, in order for it to be last forever.
It brimmed with morning air outside the Crufty family home. The Magpies were squawking on the broken power line, and winds of autumn made the grass flutter. The clouds kept the Sun rays hidden from sight, but left them a dim
This morning wasn’t as pleasant as the previous day, there was a brisk wind that had come down from Mount Toblerone. Buttercup quickly and quietly runs to Twinkie’s house and went around to knock on her window instead of her door. Twinkie was startled at first but then realized that it was just her friend Buttercup. Twinkie opens her window and asks what was wrong.
After many hours of running, she fell on the ground and collapsed. And she did not wake up. Many hours passed, but still she did not wake up, until she heard a sound. A wolf howled, and she immediately woke up and ran back home.
