If you are using a Mac then you are probably keeping up to date with the latest OS installments. Up until last month, OS X Yosemite was the operating system ofEl Capitan OS X choice. Apple then launched OS X El Capitan as this years Keynote event. While the new name sounds like it might have more to do with a pirate ship than a landmark, El Capitan is a vertical rock formation located in the Yosemite national park.

Only one company makes Macs (or Macintosh), and that is Apple. Macs run on OS X El Capitan version 10.11.1, and others that also apply specifically to Macs, and not other computers.

In the last five years, Mac sales have grown an average of 15 percent annually, compared to an average of three percent a year for the PC market as a whole. The iTunes App Store, which turned five this year, has crossed the 50 billion app download mark and the brand’s trendsetting retail stores are performing 17 times better than any other physical retail store—a fact that seems to justify the trademark Apple received for its distinctive design and layout. According to the latest news, Apple will launch a number of new products, such as Apple TV, iPhone6 and iOS's 8 in June this year.

In the world of computers, the choice of systems can be a complicated one. There are two competitors out there, PCs and Macs. Everyone has their own opinion on which is better, and there are many die-hard fans in each camp. Through their innovative marketing involving social media, word of mouth, Apple Stores they have convinced consumers about the high value of their product even lending to the formation of a “Mac cult” for its diehard fans. The way ahead for Apple is not to lose sight of its brand loyalty and continue to service the customers and entice them with the brand’s prestige. Even with the death of Steve Jobs, I believe Apple forge ahead to differentiate itself from the markets they are in.

I believe to make an assessment of which system is better a system would have to factor in the needs of the user, the budget the user intended to stay within and overall preference. Whether users were to choose either the Genesis or the Mac Pro, I believe they would be more than satisfied with the performance of either system.
