Understanding the traditions of Zhou dynasty and how they play a critical role in this culture are extremely important. Traditions are the basis of cultures and religions and The Master states this in 7.1. These practices are the foundations of how people interact with each other on a daily basis, furthermore providing guidelines on the appropriate ways to interact. In modern society innovation is highly valued, while traditions become less prominent. I believe traditions play a critical role in developing genuine and quality characteristics in human beings. Without knowing what is perceived to be good or bad, or having traditions and morals to guide people along the way, these boundaries become obsolete. I agree with Kongzi’s emphasis on
During the Zhou dynasty, Chinas economic and social standpoints began to take place. They continued with the farming and agricultural path, trade, and manufacturing ways. Merchants and artisans lived in small towns, owned by the landlord, leaving many to work in groups. There were groups of slaves, most likely prisoners of war, that worked alongside merchnats and traders. Even though there were slaves, scholars do not believe that that slavery was profoundly important during this era due to it not obtaining a large group of the population. The citizens of the Zhou age were able to construct extensive water restriction projects to monitor the flow of water into the fields. They were soon able to create a system of canals and spillways that helped
The Qin dynasty created the first unified Chinese empire. They did this by utilizing a legalistic approach to government. The Qin believed that the nature of mankind is inherently evil and only through a strict code of laws with severe punishment could the government achieve reliability and stability. Because the emperor feared the people and the inherent rights and privileges established with the teachings of Confucus, he ordered all books on Confucianism burned and beheaded everyone opposed to the government including their families. All weapons owned by private citizens were confiscated; the metal from these weapons were used to cast the gigantic metal statutes and bells that adorned the imperial
This shows us how these values and traditions keep us together and in certain line. But that too is a disadvantage because we stop questioning the traditions and values passed by the family or community, for example what if in the family dinner I want to sit in the living room with the men and not cook? To my community it will look bad but today this act is seems normal, that leads us to another problem with this assumption, that maybe our community values more the rules that the people that form the community, given the example on the essay about the Amish people and their traditions.
How did the Qin Dynasty make an impact during it’s Reign in 221-207 B.C.and influence China till the modern day?
Cultures should be preserved so that they are able to be passed down throughout different generations, especially as passing down information is one probable and important key to the survival of any culture. To accomplish the preservation of culture through transmission, change seems like an essential to cultural survival, instead of a potential enemy. In his TED talk, Davis (2003) asserts that “The Sioux Indians did not stop being Sioux when they gave up the bow and arrow anymore than Americans stopped being American when they gave up the horse and buggy” (14:46 – 14:54). Davis’s statement highlights the idea that change is always occurring, especially with the introduction of new technologies, and that specific individual traditions or ways in a culture do not make up the entirety of the culture. Rather, I think that culture revolves around the spirit and collective traditions of a group of people. For example, Davis (2003) mentions the story of a man’s grandfather creating a sleigh and weapons out of little material and describes the story as an example of the people’s “resilience” (18:50 – 19:56). Davis uses the practices of a people to explain their values, and in turn, to communicate their
During the Zhou Dynasty, there were mant developments, and how and why those develpoments happened. There was also many changes and continuities that was caused because of these additions. Invasions of a different general would emerge, usually from another successful family and rebellion would occur

These types of beliefs and strong traditions have been good examples for western civilization absorbing their rules and respect. This has been ideal to help restoring their family values.
Henrik Ibsen’s play A Doll’s House depicts the concept of entrapment. Nora Helmer, the protagonist of the play, is confined in her domestic life by the restricted views of her domineering husband Torvald Helmer. The detailed stage set symbolically represents an idealized world, a doll’s house where Nora lives oblivious to the fact that this confinement is hindering her from further development in life.
Revelations of the instability of imperial nations and their colonies in the Twentieth century marked the beginning of the end of a multipolar power system that once influenced the world. This inevitable outcome would be the result of the attitudes held by the colonial powers, the ideologies set by the anti-imperialist forces, and the role of external powers. The factors of politics and military actions would also catalyze the power shift by the end of WWII. Early in the twentieth century we would find the collapse of four large empires; which would consist of the Russian, German, Austro-Hungarian, and the Ottoman Empire.
