Miss Zoe Rain is one of the few lucky people who get to take up photography as a career and travel all around the world, getting paid to simple take photos. It all started in Seattle Washington when Zoe Rain was in high school (ZoeRainPhotography). She started off taking photos at hip-hop shows around where she was growing up and going to school (ZoeRainPhotography). In the past years, Zoe Rain has been involved in a number of photography programs. Since 2009 she has been an associate at a photography company called JKoe, which is a local Seattle company (JKoe). At the same time, Zoe Rain is a freelance photographer under her own company called Zoe Rain Photography (ZoeRain.Wix). She has been taking wedding, nature, senior, and tour …show more content…
The photo itself shows great texture with the old architectural stone along with strong contrast, showing the spectrum of black to white. I admire this photo because of its great contrast, texture, and composition with the Latin words at the bottom, which pull me into wanting to learn more about the place photographed by Miss Rain. The photo next to it also has amazing texture with the water and the reflection of the room in the pool of water. The contrast of colors is strong because there are such bright colors mixed with such dark colors, giving the shot a unique look with the help of a filter I assume. This next photo is very contrasting because there is so much color. It is amazing to look at because almost everything is in focus, which makes my eyes wander to take in all the details of the action photo. The reason I like this photo is because it is so crazy and random that it is fun to look at and think about what was the inspiration for this shot.
What Zoe Rain mainly focuses on is people and concerts. Her photos have the power to give me the exact feeling that the people in the frame are feeling. Two of my favorite photos that Zoe Rain has take during her times touring with Macklemore is the set to the right. Both have strong contrast, but nothing beats the composition. These photos speak for themselves because of the expression Zoe Rain was able to capture. The composition of these photos just shows how the artist is feeling right
I like this painting because of the feeling and memories it reminds me of. The water and rocks remind me of all my childhood memories of swimming in the water and hiking mountains. The bright and light colors create a cheerful and
Taking photographs may seem simple, but being a photographer is more than browsing through the viewfinder and pushing the exposure button. A photographer needs to know how to analyze the scene, speak in words that language cannot, and reach to the souls of people through a picture. During the Great Depression, many photographers captured the scenes of poverty and grief. However, there was only one photographer that truly captured the souls of Americans. According to Roy Stryker, Dorothea Lange "had the most sensitivity and the most rapport with people" (Stryker and Wood 41). Dorothea Lange was a phenomenal photographer that seized the hearts of people during the 1930s and beyond, and greatly affected the times of the Great Depression.
When I look at the texture of the painting, I do get a true sense of a wood floor, a wooden bed frame and a piece of fabric hanging from a nail. I think he might have used different techniques for creating various textures in the room. I think the floorboards are of multiple layers of paint, as to create the tones of the wood. I think that the bed frame, however, is just a single layer of paint, almost thin in nature. The texture of the glass in the window gives you a sense that there is an actual surface to the glass. His use of texture gives me a sense that I can walk right into this room.
Secondly, the light and colors help to enhance the piece. Due to the oil painting,

For decades Maier captured interesting photographs of ordinary people, with a secret curiosity for culture.
We can also see the use of black shades to create a hole at the bottom part of the rock. With his excellent use of colors, we can identify the good, healthy and green grass from the bad, unhealthy, brown grasses. Looking beyond the main focus of the painting, he uses colors to separate the sky from the land in the background creating a solid form of perspective on the painting. He also uses colors to create water forms as seen behind the young character. Now, for the sky, he uses shades of white to magnificently differentiate the thick clouds from the light ones. He also uses this to create a source to light to the whole area. All these put together creates a splendid, realistic and familiar atmosphere for the viewers to relate with.
Even with her boat pictures, they look like they are moving around in the water but they are actually standing still. She even captured the clouds almost trying to disappear into thin air. The next photo I like is a picture of a small wooden ladder that’s in the water lying next to old rusty boat. It makes me think about when I use to go fishing with my father and grandfather. My grandfather boat was rusty like the one in her picture. I like her artwork because it reminds me of my hometown. I can actually picture the boats in a line waiting to be released from the dock to get in the water. Her pictures are a really good example of country life. Her artwork title should’ve been name a day in the life of a country girl. It shows how beautiful the country life really is. I actually think her pictures are the best I’ve viewed so far. I really can’t explain how much I like her layout. All of her picture complement each other including the same color scale and how the pictures are reflection off little and big puddles of water. The puddles are a significant piece off her artwork because it shows the detailed image off the objects she was trying to capture and that’s why I chose to write about her
Critical Analysis on a Tina Modotti Photograph Tina Modotti was from a very poor working class society. She was brought up in the northeast part of Italy, in Udine, Friuli. She was born at the tail end of the industrial revolution, in 1896. However, you could say, by all means, that her village hadn't changed the slightest since the seventh century. She lived vigorously throughout her childhood, working endless hours in a silk-textile factory to earn a cash flow and to support the family through starvation.
Next is the use of color, or lack thereof. The colors in the background are very quiet and muted, mostly subdued blues and grays with hints of a deep red and brownish yellow peeking though. The colors used for the figure are browns and tans, almost as if the was painted with mud, like she is all-natural and from the earth. The range of colors would seem to have a cool tone if you were looking at them on a painter’s palette but the arrangement of color on the canvas gives the piece a warm feeling.
The feel of the picture lends to emotions of unease and recognition of sexual innuendo. The colors of the painting are vibrant, but for the most part are dark. The heavy tones and shades of the colors are well balanced throughout the piece. It can be noted that the brightest shades of color are found on areas depicting the actual woman. In areas that are understood as landscape, the colors are more dreary and create a sense of instability. Even Hess observes that the
The first thing that stands out in this painting is the color scheme. From far away, the warm colors of orange, tan, and mahogany seem inviting. The home seems friendly under a slice of turquoise sky. Shadows heighten the look of the fading sunlight upon the
Photography is a very interesting career choice. It can take people to places they only ever dreamt of going. Although it is a lot of fun, it is also a lot of work. There is many different types of equipment, lighting, cameras, and photographers. You must learn about it all in order to choose the perfect type of photography you want to do. Photography, is not just about capturing photos of objects, it is about how photographers see the world. Being a photographer, there are many responsibilities you must have. For starters, photographers have to be able to market and/or advertis. This will help them to attract customers or clients. On top of being able to market and advertise, they must also be able to analyze and plan compositions of
Have you ever taken a picture or been looking through a photo album and felt a sudden rush of emotion? Do you wonder what caused that emotion? Many find themselves captivated by a photograph and overwhelmed by the emotions that the photograph arouses. Believe it or not the arousal of emotion from those photographs was not caused by the content of the picture but by certain elements within the photograph. When a photograph is viewed it is not only the subject that triggers the overwhelming emotional response, it is the length of time that the film was exposed to sunlight, the way lighting is used and played with, and the strong detail of colors or lack thereof. While many believe that the subject acts as the primary stimuli to emotions, the
The history of art dates back to ancient times. Artwork can be, and was, found around the world. What makes art interesting is that it can be created in any way, shape or form with any materials. It seems that the artwork can also tell us a lot about the artist. Art seems to be simply, a direct, visual reflection of the artist’s life. Therefore, one can assume that an artist’s life experiences and beliefs directly influence their art. If we look at examples from different periods of art we will be able to see the connection between the artist and the art.
