The author of my novel is P.C Cast and Kristin Cast. The physical setting is the house of night. The temporal setting is at night. The author manipulates the time by making it seem like because they're vampires night means day and day means night. Yes the setting is critical to the story because she's a vampire the house of night is where they live. The tone of the story is serious. The theme was if you're meant to be something you'll be. Even though she was a vampire the protagonist was Zoey Redbird she was kind and humble. The antagonist is Aphrodite she was very mean and only cared about her popularity. “It's amazing here because of me”. “Yeah you heard me right, this place is cool because im cool”. The motive for the antagonist is to …show more content…
The central conflict is with Zoey Redbird and how everyone is wondering about her marked shaped like a crescent moon on her forehead that's glowing and fully darkened in. Its an internal conflict because she is having trouble with her inner self about telling people how she really got her mark on her forehead. The 1st critical event was when Zoey was at her old school and a Tracker vampire marked her. The second critical event was when she was trying to explain what happened to her parents and they wouldn't listen to her. The last critical event was when she woke up in the house of night after a weird outer body experience. What happened in the story that allowed me to predict what would happen was when she met the vampire goddess and couldn't tell anyone what they talked about. The title relates to the story because it was about a girl being marked by a vampire. Well first of all a vampire would never come into a school full of high schoolers to mark them with something that told them they were turning into a vampire. The notable difference to real life in this book was when while she was telling her parents what was about to happen to her they wouldn't listen and didn't give her a chance to explain they automatically had their minds made up on what they were going to do with her like

Everyone has experienced a dark path in life, when accepting defeat and giving up seemed like the only option. Feeling desperate and defeated; learning that hope means finding that little bit of light in all the darkness. Throughout history, hummingbirds represent the symbolic meaning behind hope. Due to the small features of the birds, hummingbirds represent hardships or challenges plagued by negativity. Teaching one to come out with a positive outlook and optimism. In the poem, Hummingbirds, by Mary Oliver, the author uses the image of Hummingbirds to portray a symbol of hope in a time of obscurity.
In the book Walk Two Moons there is a girl, her name is Sal, she has many things that change her life which are the internal and external conflict. For example she met someone who then starts to like, and Gram is in the hospital, she has many feelings about this and it changes her life, but these are just the few internal and external conflicts that change her life.
In my book there has been a lot going on with a lot of new characters getting introduced and the setting be explained and many of these things remind me of my own personal life. The Setting which is three different places a coastline town, city and the country town, these settings remind me of my home town in New Zealand because i lived inland from a beach and there was a small beach town an then there was a city just south of it. The main characters, Henry Lyon and Andy Lansell don't really relate to me or my family , but henry lyon sort of relates to some of my friends in my home town cause some of them sailboarded. This setting an characters in this story can relate to my life and family in many ways.
The novel is shown through the eyes of a young high school girl. Her family issues with religion cause her to be bullied at school, which spurs the discovery of the telekinetic powers she possesses. The story demonstrates her power used against her fellow students in a cruel act of revenge. Although it contains many controversial
Can powerful people influence others in positive ways? Not for Catherine from Catherine called Birdy. Because she is a woman she has no choice in what to do with her life.

eed is a much more complex novel than it appears to be. A big part of the story was told by things left unsaid or details told in single sentences sandwiched in between unrelated paragraphs. So, therefore it was kind of like reading a puzzle. The thing that stood out to me the most was that the blurb on the back of the book is totally misleading. The girl, Violet, is not a rebel and she’s not out to change the world. She’s a lower middle-class teen. Her mother left her and her father, a college professor, home schools her. The narrator, Titus, meets her on a spring break trip to the moon. Violet wants to fit in with the “normal” kids, but her way of speaking and thinking creates a chasm between them.
Walk 2 Moons In the novel Walk 2 Moons there's a lot of of internal conflict that lead to external between characters in their life. In Walk 2 Moons by Sharon Creech, there is a character named Sal, she has a lot of conflicts in the story that made her change. She had a lot of changes since her mom moved away, here are some examples. One internal conflict that sal had about her mother that lead to external conflicts is when her mom left her and her dad in Bybanks, Kentucky and she moved away from Sal.
As I was saying one of my main focuses were characters. One the character that was mostly focused on was Terra. My first thoughts on Terra before reading the book was, she must be a snobby little rich kid who was perfect and had everything she ever wanted, after reading the first chapter...I was wrong. I couldn’t believe this gorgeous girl had something to hide which was... a birth mark. Everyone has birthmarks in different places but hers was on her face. Right there it’s a problem, a problem with insecurities that everyone has. Except her causes her to hide it and be someone who she isn’t, and that is something that should be expressed because that small thing makes a person unique and different in their own way. Another person who had a major impact in this book was Terra’s father.
Helen Oyeyemi’s novel Boy, Snow, Bird deals with tendentious issues such as abuse, race, beauty, and mother daughter relationships. Many of these issues are blatantly illustrated throughout this story between different characters. Often more than one relationship deals with each of these issues, and most of these relationships deal with more than one issue at a time. That being said, some of the relationships deal with their issues and themes in a much more subtle way than others. One relationship in particular deals with issue very subtly, Charlie and Boy’s. Charlie and Boy grew up together in the same town, and he even asked her to prom, wrote to her, toke her to see fireworks (Oyeyemi 7-9). The two of them formed an unspoken sporadic romance. The relationship between Charlie and Boy acts as a window into the circle of abuse and abandonment, builds a foundation of feigning a position of power, and connects to the theme of beauty.
A particularly important and necessary factor in character development is setting. It describes the place, the time and the social situation. Characters act differently in various settings and there are distinct nuances that appear and influences them as well. In Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 and Shakespeare’s Hamlet, setting plays a large role in shaping its characters, such as Guy and Hamlet.
