When it comes to a zombie apocalypse realist would not respond immediately. Instead the realist having the “dog eat dog” nature would just simply wait until the zombie virus affected them directly. They would wait until the very last moment to respond. Realist do not care about the problem until it is their problem.
The zombie apocalypse is finally upon us. The world will now witness man’s most primitive state, selfish, greedy, and cruel. Whose ideas on human nature and idealistic government will best help us in such a situation? The ideas of Thomas Hobbes, a 17th century philosopher, would best benefit the survivors of a zombie apocalypse.
Its twenty years in the future and the zombie apocalypse is over. Humanity is in shambles and is trying to get back together. There are only a few hundred survivors left, with more smaller groups scattered around the world. What are the survivors to do but recreate society from the ground up, with no laws and previous political background to guide them? All they're left with is the memory of their high school and college educations about the period of Enlightenment in Europe, and the philosophes of the time, with their views on government and how it should be run. The people need rules, guidelines, decision makers, and a government to help get things done. What better than Locke’s ideas on freedom, natural rights, and a government responsible
The word zombie apocalypse nestled together bring imagines of a catastrophic nightmare. Nevertheless, we have all at one time or another heard this phrase mentioned on television. In the war against the undead who will be the victorious. We have seen zombie movies, but is there actual truth of their existence. The forthcoming of a zombie apocalypse has been predicted for decades. People fail to realize that the ranks for the undead will be in the millions not thousands. All public services would be rendered obsolete within hours once the madness begins. Hollywood has profited from our fears of a zombie pandemic. Our moral beliefs have become uncensored as hundreds of movies have foretold of a plague affecting the entire globe. As technology as progressed through the decades zombies have become such a mainstream phenomenon. Nevertheless, a theory has been planted into our subconscious through social media and people are less likely to be afraid of a zombie now in
How do you think the world will end? Nuclear war? Yellowstone? How about my favorite zombie apocalypse? I always imagined what it would be like and what i would do. If i was alone with no family or pets i would go run away into the woods. I would take enough can food to keep me going for a while and pack a book or two. Maybe i would camp out in my local grocery store. Well what if the end of the world was unexpected. What if you actually missed it? Well that's what happened to me. Me along with 10 other people missed the end of the world. How? Well i'm about to tell you so sit down and relax. Pop some intergalactic popcorn and strap in.
Daniel Drezner book addresses how the world would potentially react should the Zombie Apocalypse start while relating it to international relations. While discussing the anarchical nature of the world, in the realist argument, he addresses the fact that it is not likely that any one state would be able to gain complete control of the world. However, if the entire world is being overtaken by a zombie plague it is not outside the realm of possibility that survivors of various nations would come together and merge with whatever power still existed and divvy out more power to that group or individual. A good old fashioned military takeover would be just the thing to create an uneasy world-wide alliance with other militaristic organizations across the world against the zombie hordes. The military would easily be able to take charge in a global catastrophe of this nature relatively quickly and with little resistance from the common people. They are one of the most disciplined and structured organizations in regards to bureaucracy and other political organizations, and would not hesitate to change the protocols of war against an end-of-the-world type of threat such as a zombie takeover. Also, military tradition and codes of conduct cross borders with significantly more similarities than do political ideologies and governmental structures, which would result in there being a much easier and more unified alliance than could ever be achieved in any other global unification setting.
Although some might think the zombie apocalypse is a far-fetched idea spawned from a doomsday prepper’s wildest dreams, it is actually a highly likely scenario which should be considered with a sober mind. Based off other sicknesses which have arisen in recent and older times, such as Ebola, the black plague, and cholera, we can see that without the right preventative and emergency measures, any sickness can return after any amount of time in a stronger and different form harder to beat than the last time. In order to prevent massive outbreaks like these from happening, which might resurrect corpses that start eating the living, California needs to enact legislation that protects everyone from zombies. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, California needs to declare martial law, create quarantines for those doomed to die, restrict anyone from leaving or entering the state, strip away the basic human rights of the zombies, and commence mandatory dental procedures.
There is a zombie apocalypse and you’re stranded by yourself in nowhere else but Vicksburg, Mississippi. How will I get food and water? How will I start a fire? How will I travel? How do I kill the zombies that are trying to kill me? These are just a few of the questions you will be asking yourself if this situation were to occur. People that are prepared for a zombie apocalypse would already have their primitive survival skills intact as well as effective signaling methods. They would be in decent physical shape. They would understand basic first aid, and would already have decided on the safe ways to travel to and from the city.
The terror of death typically consumes people, therefore, they must prepare for anything to happen. Not knowing what to expect can make it difficult to prepare for if the event has yet to happen. People planning to survive the zombie apocalypse must follow the process of gathering weapons, finding the items necessary to survive, and learning to use surrounding items to fight zombies.
The gruesome zombie apocalypse had broken out three days ago, and everyone was in full panic mode as we tried to figure out what to do next.
Death is the scariest part of living. Humanity has always been acutely aware of this horrible inevitability, and as a result of this almost near obsession with mortality certain practices, precautions, and even religions have been developed to ease the weary minds on death. Self- preservation, preparedness and survival motivate almost faction of human interest and behavior but becoming prepared for the conceivable anything and asking all the “what if” questions in the world still might not save humanity when analyzing how many devastating catastrophes can essentially wipe out life on this planet with ease. Not hard to imagine, mass extinction in history has happened at least five times estimated as far back as 440 million years ago at the
Scientific advances such as genetic engineering have evolved to where almost any specimen imaginable can be created. Therefore, there is nothing standing in the way of someone creating hazardous killing machines, that can infect the humans around them. This means the likelihood of a zombie apocalypse is greater than most people would like to believe. If this horrendous event was to occur it is immensely important to know the precautionary steps. During a zombie apocalypse preparation, protection, and basic necessities are needed in order to survive.
As a public discourse, popular narrative engages with social issues expressing a collective critique encouraging or discouraging social conformity. As Drezner states, “pop culture can have an “informing effect” of calling attention to and framing a particular problem. Popular culture can also have an “enabling effect” of providing shorthand references that trigger awareness of a problem” (Drezner 831). Beneath the horror and thematic thrill of the zombie film franchise, the zombie as a figure in popular culture has an enabling effect in providing awareness to society on a mass level. On the figure of the zombie, Kirk states that, “in my own case this creature talks a lot about consciousness, which it apparently regards as a deep
(QUAD CITIES – 7, November, 2016) Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse is something that everyone should know how to do and Joe Zombie explains just that in his Ded talk at the I-Wireless Center.
Imagine watching the news as usual before heading to work one morning. Suddenly, the words “breaking news” flashes on screen. A reporter gives horrific details of a virus that has broken out in the nearest major city, causing people to attack and eat anyone near them. They avoid the words but the unavoidable truth of the matter is on everyone’s minds; the zombie apocalypse has begun. Widespread panic sets in among the neighborhood, and it is apparent no one has a clue as to what to do next. Do not let emotions overrule logic, though, as panic is the quickest killer. Remembering what to do when the outbreak begins, when enduring the dangers of travel, and when seeking out a long-term shelter are the best way to avoid
There are many political theories in the world today. Drezner addresses how realism, liberalism, constructivism, neo-conservatism, and bureaucratic politics would face the threat of a zombie apocalypse throughout his book. Each theory presented with the possibility of a world where the dead walk amongst the living and feed on their flesh, and then Drezner would elaborate on how each political theory would unfold if the world were to decide to pursue that particular political theory. This elaboration helps us determine if the world could even survive a zombie apocalypse. Although many people would ask is the threat of a zombie apocalypse even a
