Use Your Head, Cut Off Theirs Nature may be one of mankind's closest enemies. Nature; where we live, breathe, gather resources, and survive, but realistically have no control over. What happens when nature turns against us? In the possible event of disease-ridden “humans” taking over the world, we have to plan a well thought out strategy on how to survive and thrive through a zombie apocalypse. You will have to fight to endure the living and the dead. The first thing that would come to someone's mind if one day they woke up, and heard the sounds of panic and fear ringing through their ears would be to jump out of bed the nearest window and whiplash the curtains open to see women, children, and families everywhere scurrying across the street. …show more content…

Survival supplies are the first thing needed to stock up on. The more time spent on planning for when disaster strikes, the better off one will be. There are a few categories of supplies needed to start thinking about and stocking up on; supplies for basic survival and supplies to be able to just get by. Basic survival supplies would be items such as jugs of water, canned food, a sleeping bag, medication, and a bag to carry everything. Stocking up on water could mean the difference between life and death. A zombie may be able to kill you out in the open, but “dehydration can kill you in three hours in harsh environment-snowy days- and after three days you will need water or you will perish” (Binns). Assuming the end of the world arrived, cell phone towers will not be up and running. A best bet would be two-way radios. “With an advertised talk radius of 25+ miles over open ground, and 5+ miles in the city, the modern two-way radio can be the solution to a very real problem. Without the ability of remote communication, you could be in the same building as your loved one and never know it, making a search and rescue effort nearly impossible. The actual range of reception varies greatly from one brand to the next, and none are as effective as they claim to be. But for about $65 you can exponentially increase your odds of reuniting with that special someone, while maintaining a tactical advantage over both zombies, and the tens of millions of other civilians who didn’t plan ahead as well. A limited battery life makes this a short term solution only, but when you find yourself in the first hour or two of what will soon become known as the end of civilization, every second counts” (Zombie research
