Once upon a time, in the not too distant past, we saw three Doctors forcing the invading Zygons and UNIT to start negotiating “the most perfect treaty of all time.” If you don’t remember this, there’s no need to dig out your copy of the 50th Anniversary episode as it’s briefly recapped at the start for you. Since then, however, the details of this peace treaty have not been mentioned again, and so in many ways this two-parter acts as a sequel of sorts. As we have seen from the promotional material, the upshot of this peace treaty was that twenty million Zygons have been living secretly among humans on the planet for the last two years or so. A small number of them are unhappy with the current arrangements, therefore deciding to break away from the alliance made between their commanders and UNIT and start making demands of their own. Osgood finds herself in the wrong place, at the wrong time, which is how the Doctor and Clara find themselves called upon to help set her free, and try to re-establish the peace between the two sides before there’s an uprising. …show more content…
As you know, I wasn’t a big fan of his offering last year; the ‘science’ involved was a major let down, as were the supporting characters – off the top of my head I can only recall Courtney, though that’s possibly due to her being an established role last
Everyone wants peace but it is not often that it is accomplished, especially between nations. Even though World War 1 was over, disputes between nations did not come to an end, but continued. The Treaty of Versailles was one of many attempts. It was a document that ended World War 1; however, it solely blamed Germany for the war and forced Germany to pay reparations. Furthermore, the treaty was also unfair because Germany did not even attend the meeting, Germany was blamed and humiliated, and they also had to pay everything.
Dale Chihuly is an American glass blower (Dale Patrick Chihuly, 2015). The piece of art I’ll mainly be looking at is Citron and Cobalt Tower. This piece was located directly in the center of the museum as soon as you walked in to the show room. It caught my eye and I knew immediately what I wanted to do my paper on.
The book Seize the Storm, is written by Michael Cadnum. I chose this book because my dad actually read this book and told me about it a few years earlier, and found it in the library and it looked cool so why not choose this book. The title of the book “Seize the Storm” just sounds like that would be a great book, which it was, plus the cover looked very cool.

For my NHD project the objective was on Apollo 13. I choose this topic because Apollo 13 had problems with their space craft on the way to the moon, a never made it there. I also like this topic because it tells me how engineers aren’t always perfect, and the can have flaws.
In the novel The Year We Disappeared, Cylin and John Busby want the readers to understand that no matter what someone is going through, things will become better if they cooperate with what they’re going through. To illustrate, John Busby is in the hospital and he is struggling to live under his current conditions, but he believes he can survive. To show, John says, “I’d lost about thirty pounds or so but was building up strength every day, walking the halls with my IV pole, keeping my mind sharp” (40). This proves how even though John was practically living through Hell everyday, he kept his mind set positive and was determined to get back on his feet and cooperate with what he was going through, so that he could be his normal self again.

Michael Wigglesworth’s poem, “The Day of Doom” describes the ideals of Judgement Day; when at last, the Puritans would meet and be tried before God. This poem was arguably one of the most prevalent pieces of literature at the time of its release. Puritan principles regarding fearing God were recurrent in texts aimed toward people of all ages. A workbook known as The New England Primer, was geared towards teaching young readers not only about reading, but about the fundamentals of their faith. The New England Primer assists in explaining Michael Wigglesworth’s poem, “The Day of Doom,” through the concepts of original sin, depravity, providence, and absolute sovereignty.
The climax of A Separate Peace is when Finny falls out of the tree by the river. Gene immediately thinks that he jounced the limb and he is at fault for Phineas’s broken leg. Gene’s guilty conscious came out and told Finny that he jounced the limb, but Finny would not believe it. Gene couldn’t believe this rivalry had come to a fateful end. Gene was put on trial and the truth came out to Finny. He had fallen down the stairs and broken his leg again. During surgery, Finny had passed away due to a bone marrow flowing through his blood stream and straight to his heart. Gene couldn’t believe that Finny, his best friend, had passed away. Had this all been from his doubting of Finny? Did he cause Finny’s
In the first part that speaks of peace among the first lines it establishes that peace is very rare in the international field. It quotes that for every thousand pages published on the causes of war there is less than one page on the causes of peace. Blainey main argument throughout this first part of his book is that we do not know much about the causes of peace.
Many authors have different types of writing styles, some famous authors, Roald Dahl, and Edgar Allen Poe are no exception. With their unique writing styles you are transported into the story along with all of the characters. For many authors, their writing styles are influenced by the authors backstory. Edgar Allen Poe’s early life was laced with tragedy and sadness, whereas Roald Dahl’s life was happier with better memories. Because of this Roald Dahl's stories tend to be more happy and adventurous, although he wrote some horror tales for fun. Edgar Allen Poe used horror and suspense for almost all of his writing.
