Its innovator and businessman Steve Jobs identified the weaknesses of the current offer (1999-2000), the previous products were either too big and not so convenient or too small and with low capacity that obviously limited the utility of it. Moreover, Mp3’s design were basic, the product was more created for its features than to be attractive. Thus, Apple designed a brand new MP3, it still has the same features but improved, the capacity was about 5 to 10 Go (“1000 songs in your pocket” slogan for the iPod’s promotion, 2001) convenient size, light, attractive. It also has a big screen, a menu smartly classifying all the songs (by artists, albums, songs, type of music…), enabling people to choose songs, but also to create their own playlist. The iPod’s introduction to the MP3 market favored the worldwide spread and use of the product thanks to its simplicity, efficiency, attractive design. It came along with iTunes, a media player and library storing and updating all the songs on a computer. It also offers to purchase music online in the iTunes store.
