Give Some Examples of Newton’s Third Law of Motion.

Answer – Examples of Newton’s third law of motion include walking, a rocket taking off, a book lying on a table, and a bird flying, among others.

Explanation:

Newton’s laws of motion draw connections between the movement of an object and the forces that act on it. The third law states that when one body exerts a force on another, it experiences a force that is equal and opposite to the one applied. This is also known as the action–reaction law.

If Object 1 exerts a force F₁ on Object 2, then Object 1 experiences a force F₂ which is equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. Mathematically, this is expressed as F1 = F2.

Here are a few examples of Newton’s third law of motion in action:

1. A person walking from one point to another exerts a backward force on the floor, causing the floor to exert a reaction force on them and move them forward.

2. A rocket taking off from the ground exerts a backward force on the gas in its combustion chamber; the gas, in turn, exerts a large reaction force (known as thrust) that propels the rocket upward.

3. A book lying on a table exerts its weight downward on the table, which in turn applies a normal reaction force on the book to keep it in position.

4. A bird flying upward pushes the air downward with its wings; the air then exerts an equal upward force on the bird, making it fly.
