Which Type of Radiation has the Shortest Wavelength?

Answer – Gamma radiation has the shortest wavelength.

Explanation:

Radiation is a type of energy that behaves as both particle and wave. As it has electric and magnetic fields associated with it, it is also described as electromagnetic energy or radiation.

Not all radiation has the same wavelength and frequency. There is a wide range of these, and together they are called the electromagnetic spectrum. This spectrum covers all kinds of radiation, including visible light.

The violet end of the range of visible light has the shorter wavelengths. However, the electromagnetic spectrum does not end here, and continues further until gamma-rays. This type of radiation has the shortest wavelengths (below 100 picometers). And since, the shorter the wavelength the greater the energy, gamma radiation also carries the highest amount of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum.
